When I started skating I rode goofy and did tricks regular. Both of those actions felt more natural to me. I eventually taught myself to just ride regular, but even today my switch manuals and fakie variants are way stronger.

I remember literally day 1 being scared to go up a ramp because the edge of it wasn't millimetre flush with the floor, watching this made me feel so nervous 😆 mad props to the guy for sending it though, pure bravery!
I'm coming up to my 1 year anniversary of starting skating at 37 (technically i started at 36 i guess), in the process of making an EOY video, hope you'll be able to check it out, super proud!

Haha it's so fun to watch how people start skating, some really take their time learning the basics and others jump around trying everything. Your right though, if he gets over the initial awkward feeling on the board it looks like he would really enjoy it.

I was stressing right along with you ricky but I was also excited for him just full sending and having fun. I admire him for going and asking for help and then spending the time there just sending it 😎👌 this shows there really is a community and people that want to help you succeed 👏 not all people are Dicks. Great reaction ricky, really enjoyed this 😊👍

It’s weird but fun seeing people learn to ride. I can’t remember that part thinking back when I was a kid learning but I do remember being taught to turn. It was just me riding straight then I pick up the board and place it to turn until my dad basically said okay you really need to learn how to turn now lmao. Funny thing it was also his old 70s board that he cruised with as a kid. No grip tape at all was pure wood on the top.

When i was 7, I couldn't balance for shit and the board had no safe center for me. Now I feel like baords in general, is intuative. Never give up just because of initial failure.

Gotta have it to the homie he is full send. He's only allowed to quit if he does a wallie 900 triple inward heel down Leon 25 to a manny to a switch crooked grind double monster flip out with a backside revert while playing flight of the bumblebee on a violin blindfolded.

  • @Mrleahey

I don’t think stance is important, one may feel better than the other but both are hard in the beginning so it’s kind of the perfect opportunity to learn both.

I imagine a lot of Ricky's viewers found him through Braille, I know I did, and a lot of them are probably beginners like me. So these types of vids are not just fun but also useful, because we get to hear his advice on how to correct a lot of beginner mistakes in a way that's not too far off of watching him give a live lesson. I happen to love this type of reaction vid because of that. Just my 2 cents

Maybe instead of having this be 70% of his content, he should mix in some “changing the oil in my car” videos?
Maybe some where he discusses “gastrointestinal diseases”.
      Maybe how to do taxes?
      Nah Ricky, you got this…
Do videos you like. Your channel is big for a reason, so you’re doing it right.
Have fun making videos just like you have fun skateboarding…
