Use facial foam not a soap
    Use fingers don't rush through
wash your face twice a day
    Scrub once a week
    Use your own towel
    Use lukewarm water
Pick face wash of your skin type

I'm confused on few things. 1) I've learned from reading and have been told by dermatologists that we only really need to rinse our faces with water in the morning (provided you cleansed it at night) unless your face is overly oily or has something needing to be washed off. Because it unnecessarily strips natural oils- which stimulates more sebum production, and dries the skin, compromising the skin barrier.
    2) Regarding a towel. I've always thought it to be too abrasive, and with constant use, also damaging to the skin barrier (I guess, unless you're patting). And that we should be switching towels with each use, unless it gets proper ventilation to avoid bacteria growth, which can begin pretty rapidly without good measures.
    3) Foam cleansers have sulfates, so they can be drying or irritating, though, some are more gentle than others. So why aren't gel cleansers recommended? Gels can easily be turned into a foam manually with a foaming net (I actually just use a net that I found in some packaging after sanitizing it. Wet it, apply a squeeze of cleanser, then rub both sides together... foams up very well.) I switch up foams, gels and CeraVe type washes based on what my skin needs that moment.
Thanks for any clarification or contributions!

Everyone with acne, I learned that sometimes the problem is in the digestive system and we get breakouts on the face coz our guts are really under stress, I'm not saying that's the only and overall cause, I'm just saying probably most of you have gut issues too ..... Mostly people who have ever had Hpylory(is that the spelling? 😕😂) or ulcers etc and are under medication coz those kits kill all the good bacteria in our bodies together with the bacteria that causes our ailments....... So, since I found this out, I've been taking kefir milk (can be substituted with pure yoghurt and fermented milk) daily or atleast thrice a week to introduce those good bacterias back into my body and guess what, it's been a month now and my face is clearing up, I don't have more breakouts and my black spots are slowly disappearing....... Apart from that, my overall health is amazing and I still treat my skin the right way, following doctor Liv's tips😁...... Maybe you guys should also check your overall health since it affects our skin too..... I hope I've helped a soul or more 😀.... Like if the info was useful 😊

Is it good, what do you think? Thank you for your videos, they are great.

Daniela Rouge Daniela Rouge salut, this is the same video which you see when a 180kg guy puts a cream on his belly and suddenly his belly shrinks ans h weights 80kg instead.
Everything what sounds to good is too good. You know this by yourself.
Of course washing your face with warm water and soap is important, but it always needs a couple of things to improve it. And oil will not disappear wrinkles, and you know it. If you are suffering from acne sing oil will make your pimples even wrose.
Think about do avoid certain movements like frowning to avoid wrinkles...i will do a video about it next week

Maybe also worth thinking about clean pillows. We spend eight hours a day rubbing our faces into them. I have a allergy barrier pillowcase, inside the actual pillowcase. Pillows get washed once a fortnight at 60. Allergy barrier pillowcase get washed once a week and the pillowcase itself only does two days. One night one side, then flip it over. After two nights, into the wash. That way every night my washed face gets a clean pillowcase to rub itself into, and allergens, sweat etc don’t get a chance to build up on the materials. Washing pillows every two weeks, and using the allergy barrier pillow case means things like dust mites are controlled. That’s me. Don’t know that’s technically good advice but it seems sensible to keep clean pillows.

hi everybody! i'm not a dermatologist but i'll give you some tips that helped me to reduce and prevent my pimples/blackheads.
    1) before washing your face you should wash your hands
    2) try to not touch your face
    3) if u want to get rid of your blackheads, first put a clean warm wet towel on the area with blackheads to open up the pores, then for the mask mix argil powder with water (sometimes i mix it with rosewater and it works pretty good too) and apply it to your face and wait for it to dry (i leave it on for 10-15 minutes) . After it dries you can see that your blackheads in the mask, then rinse the mask with warm water and so when you washed off your face you also washed off the blackheads
    4) for pimples i try not to pop up them, but when i do, i ALWAYS wash my hands before.
These are my tips. (and if were wondering, i think i have normal skin and i usually don't get a lot of pimples since i'm doing 1) and 2) but i have always had blackheads on my nose and since i'm doing 3) i almost cleared out all of them)

This is only an instruction on how to wash your face guys, she didn't state it will dramatically clear your acne. Next thing if your acne is persistently popping, it might be on your diet or because of your puberty or even hormonal imbalance.
Don't use too many products on your face it might worsen, especialy the one with harsh ingredients and formulation of sodiums, benn there done that nothing happens, a good diet is a must fruits, vegies take Vitamin C also your body needs that, also a moisturizer or a serum is needed too, maybe your face lacks moisture that it produces oils too much and causes breakouts also sleep at least 7-8 hrs a day.

    • @cayliefuller7668
      @cayliefuller7668 Před 6 lety +8

The ShineH Is your skin dry, normal, or oily? For dry/normal skin, I recommend using a face wash with ceramides or hyaluronic acid (these will help to hydrate the face), a cheaper drugstore brand would be Cerave or Cetaphil. Their moisturizers with niacinamide could possibly help reduce the redness by reducing inflammation. For Normal/ oily skin, try a cleanser with a low % salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide (more tolerable for sensitive skin, in my opinion) good brands are Neutrogena, Aveeno (unscented), or Acnefree. And always moisturize, even with oily skin, because your skin will actually produce more natural oils to compensate for dryness. A good brand for all skin types with redness is Eucerin.
Note: I'm not a dermatologist, but majored in biology with intent to go to med school. Hope this helps :) You can also watch Dr. Dray, here on CZcams, she gives VERY good advice.

  • @smpotts7640
    @smpotts7640 Před 5 lety +1

    Hi Dr.Liv,
Thank you for all your excellent advice, and clear, complete presentation.
I had acne develop at about 15, but my mom took me to my first gynecological appointment around that time because of heavy, painful periods, and I was prescribed pretty strong BC pills.
My skin completely cleared up, and I barely had a period.
This was in 1970 and I took them for a few years, then studies were showing risks with high estrogen doses, and I started taking a much lower dose.
My teen acne period was over, and the new meds helped my periods, but I was crying over everything, and my mom finally said she thought it started when I started the new medication.
I finally had to stop, and I felt fine, except my periods were horrendous. I think it's interesting I felt fine on the higher dose.
My mom, sister and I all had terrible periods, and all had hysterectomies at fairly young ages. No cancer, just endometriosis.
My mom had GORGEOUS skin like yours, not a visible pore, or pimple ever. But my dad had some significant acne. So, I have nice skine, but kind of a combo.
I believe I inherited that sticky sebum that clogs pores and causes pimples.
I use a washcloth and Dove soap in the morning. If I don't use a washcloth, I feel like I don't get that sticky film off, and I'll get a pimple around a nostril, in the crease between my lower lip and chin. I do a VERY light hand washing at night with a tiny bit of soap.
I have very sensitive skin to chemicals, perfumes, etc. I was tested and found I am allergic to propylene glycol, which you may know is a VERY common ingredient in cosmetics, shampoos, soap, make-up, and even in some foods. It's an emulsifier.
I need a light moisturizer that will also reduce pores and even skin tone.
Also, drugstore products, not cheap ones, that contain
sunscreen, make my pores look larger. I've tried several kinds and they ALL do it. My pores will look fine, and an hour later, rheyre huge!
One good thing, I live in Seattle.
I started using just the very light anti-wrinkle eye moisturizer on my face during the day, and it looks good. I HATE foundation, and only use a concealer on red spots, and some blush I blend and it looks good. I get compliments on my skin. I recently caught Streisand only uses eye moisturizer, too. We're like sisters!
    (Not really!)
It seems if I do too much or too little, I will get a pimple or two, enlarged pores, etc.
I have blackheads on my nose, that I'd LOVE to get rid of, but none on my face. But I'm in my sixties, and no wrinkles, crows feet, etc!!
    So:
    1. Sensitive skin
    2. pore size
    3. Nose blackheads
    4.Uneven skin tone
    5. Sunscreen
    Thank you again, Dr. Liv
