- Why do people call it LAX?
These two-letter codes were usually based on the weather station at the airports. Therefore, Los Angeles International Airport was designated L.A. The airline industry then rapidly expanded, and so did airport codes from two to three letters. L.A. Airport thus became LAX Airport.
The Terminals of Los Angeles International Airport have a total of 146 gates in nine passenger terminals arranged in the shape of the letter U or a horseshoe. Passengers can move between terminals via various shuttle buses and inter-terminal pedestrian connections. As of 2021, the airport is in the midst of a major reconstruction program, at the conclusion of which passengers will be able to make connections between all terminals on foot without having to exit and reenter airport security.
The Airport is located in southwestern Los Angeles, 12 miles (30 km) from Downtown Los Angeles. LAX features its extension, 3,500 acres (1,416 ha), and its four parallel runways, being the largest international airport on the west coast. LAX Airport is the second busiest airport in the US. Los Angeles Airport is known as the premier “Gateway to the Pacific Rim” for its deep connections to Latin America and Asia specifically. LAX serves as a hub for American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Alaska Airlines, and United Airlines. It is also a focus city for JetBlue and Southwest Airlines.

My mum and i flew into here in the June of 1996 for a two weeks holiday from the UK
I remember being in LAX in July of 2020, it was like a ghost town. Never had seen it like that before or since.

I am going to have a 1hr 55min layover in LAX going to EWR from an international flight (SIA). Im actually wondering whether i'll have enough time for my connection to terminal 6 with alaska airline since i just realize that we have to go through baggage claim and custom in LAX before the connecting flight 😑 as for the baggage will i have to bring it to terminal 6 to get it check in or is there a transfer desk to put the bags after the custom? I am using one itinerary ticket for my whole flight so i assume that the baggage already have a tag for the final destination? Will i still have to go through security too? If yes, how long will it take to go through the security? I am very nervous and hoping that i can make the connection. Any info will be appreciated. TIA
I always feel like I have been in a place and it looked like a tall roofed parking lot and there was a escalator coming out from another level that is not a parking lot and on the side there was a wall with red spikes and when you get to the top there’s a bathroom to your right and I feel like it was a lax parking lot… if you don’t understand that’s ok and tell me if it was a dream or not and if it was in lax.
How do you get from one terminal to another if youhave reaervations ona connecting flight?

I was at the airport a couple of weeks ago. I heard on the airport PA that LAX was closed to the general public 24-7 and being there not on official airport business is a misdemeanor. This is also posted on LAX's website. This video is months old so this rule is very recent. I am wondering why they made a law like this? LAX isn't a place to hang out in the first place.
Ijust wanna ask .my bf has 3hrs stopover to lax then his going to japan.can he go out lax airport and meet my family outside the airport? Or myvfamily can get inside??

This video doesn't show it, but LAX is riddled with homeless people. The great majority of the LAWA Police Department calls are related to the homeless.
