      This is typical of OEM “upgrades” from any brand. You can usually get it cheaper and better aftermarket. You also get to choose what you want with the only trade off being warranty. I love Toyota but they’ve never been great at this sort of thing.

    I truly appreciate all of the content and work that is being done on pushing these new 2024 models out. I have no ill feelings toward the folks making this content or toyota when I bring up the subject on pricing. I think it's super important for folks to have an honest conversation about the pricing for these models because we honestly have gotten nothing on reasoning behind the abnormally high prices that these higher models are going for. When making the comparison to the competitions newer models, the pricing for these toyotas makes no sense. Lets have that conversation and to @toyota, lets have an honest conversation. Toyota was the beacon of providing a strong, reliable and gorgeous mid size truck for the working man. I'm not so sure that is still happening here with these 2024 models. It's not fun when only the heavy pocketeers can afford these incredible machines.

    Appreciate the info on this new Tacoma. so I've watched a few of these videos and Toyota always has a Rep in vehicle, I guess to make sure vehicle is taking advantage of tools available to driver . I really like the TRD PRO and I Really HATE that it costs 65K plus all the Fee's looking at 72/73 when finished. So the Tacoma has gone from being an affordable mid size truck that a lot of people love to a mid size truck that few can afford! Nice Job Toyota!

  • @mack_titan
    @mack_titan Před měsícem +7

    The very first TRD pro was released in 2015. I have one of two manuals in Orange (Inferno red) color. We believe there was only two manufactured in crew cab, 6 speed manual, Orange color (total truck built was ~1200 that year). I picked it up shy of $38K plus tax in all cash in Escondido, CA with 3 miles on it (flew down there and drove it back). To think in ~10 years, the prices are now nearly double is something. BTW, I drove that truck to the Prudhoe bay and back in Winter, 12K miles. The thread on that is at Tacoma World.

      That’s crazy, I almost had the other one! There was a used one in California at CARMAX. I had them ship it to Vegas so I could drive down, test drive it, and pick it up. They never called me when it arrived and they sent it back to California. They said they tried calling me but I never got a phone call from them. I didn’t realize how rare it was at the time. Im not saying they didn’t call me on purpose, im just saying it’s a little suspicious. They also didn’t hold onto the truck for 48 hours like their website says they would. Oh well… im just depressed now.

    • @mack_titan
      @mack_titan Před měsícem

      @@hunterbrooks1681 That's right, the first two (only two in manual in Orange crew cab) were dispatched to Escondido, CA and Columbus, OH as far as I know. I had deposit on both!!! I was in conversation with nearly 50 Toyota dealers at this point. I had flight tickets for other one as well. Fortunately for me, the CA arrived first. It is so rare (since it is the 1st and last year of that body style TRD pro) that the truck was hidden from public view. The manager asked if I could fly the next day, this way, they can show it off on display. When I went to pick up, the owner of the dealership had it hidden inside a storage for me. I truly appreciated the extent he went through for me. When I pulled it out of the storage for final dealer prep and drove off the lot, it had 5 miles ;). Then I prepped the truck for 8 months and hit the road to Alaska in winter driving through snow, blizzard hitting -50 on the dalton!

    What’s frustrating about Toyota’s high speed off-road model the “trd pro” can’t keep up with a ranger raptor or bronco raptor in the whoops. The 2.5 shocks are overplayed now, Toyota should have added longer upper and lower control arms like those previously mentioned vehicles that are properly built for fast off-road. The wider stance is from fender flares and wheel offset not from increased wheel travel like a proper long travel suspension system does.

Where I am from, you can buy a nice 2000sq ft house for about 300k and at the Toyota dealership they want almost 70k for a MID SIZED truck.
