Tune in to find out a few of them such as Fox 2.5 adjustable suspension vs. the Old Man Emu set up on the Trailhunter. Less auxiliary switches but you do get those sweet isodynamic seats on the TRD Pro.

Only 70k what a deal! Said no one ever.
Over $150k in Australia 😔
Plus $20k markup
Nissan Frontier all the way. Don't get me wrong I love Toyota, but the cost is higher than it needs to be. And the Nissan Frontier is a hell of a truck at a much more reasonable price.
@@JeremiahJ3 agreed you could get a pro4x for under 40k put 20k into it to run around the trd and still have 5k left over lol
Just wait to see what the trd pro 4runner will be
Man with the suspension being the only performance upgrade, you could buy a lower model, take your $25k+ savings and spend $10-15k on premium pre runner suspension thatd be better then this.
3rd gen was the same way
This is typical of OEM “upgrades” from any brand. You can usually get it cheaper and better aftermarket. You also get to choose what you want with the only trade off being warranty. I love Toyota but they’ve never been great at this sort of thing.
Isn't the engine completely different with the hybrid iforce max or do they offer that on the OR as well?
Kurt looks real comfortable in that back seat LOL
Very 😅
Matt loves his job
This was a really fun truck to drive. Good power and adjustable suspension make this a great contender. Hope you enjoy the video, thanks for watching!
We need this in Australia, but a review on 4wd tracks not a grave road
no we don't
a Ranger Raptor is way better than this
Wahoooo! Looks like a proper good time.
I truly appreciate all of the content and work that is being done on pushing these new 2024 models out. I have no ill feelings toward the folks making this content or toyota when I bring up the subject on pricing. I think it's super important for folks to have an honest conversation about the pricing for these models because we honestly have gotten nothing on reasoning behind the abnormally high prices that these higher models are going for. When making the comparison to the competitions newer models, the pricing for these toyotas makes no sense. Lets have that conversation and to @toyota, lets have an honest conversation. Toyota was the beacon of providing a strong, reliable and gorgeous mid size truck for the working man. I'm not so sure that is still happening here with these 2024 models. It's not fun when only the heavy pocketeers can afford these incredible machines.
$65k ❌🤯😱b4 markups ?!?!?! The ridiculous unrealistic prices continue on, WOW
KEEPING MY 3rd GEN OR 🧐
Nice truck ❤
Every 4x4 is gangster until it tries those southern African trails especially in Namibia
Find a nice piece of rock call diamond , preferably overly 10 carets, then buy 10 Land Cruisers and call it a day.
Love some Cruiser Kurt action - mostly because we share the same name spelling and he got the social channel name "Cruiser Kurt" before I could...and deservedly so...
Appreciate the info on this new Tacoma. so I've watched a few of these videos and Toyota always has a Rep in vehicle, I guess to make sure vehicle is taking advantage of tools available to driver . I really like the TRD PRO and I Really HATE that it costs 65K plus all the Fee's looking at 72/73 when finished. So the Tacoma has gone from being an affordable mid size truck that a lot of people love to a mid size truck that few can afford! Nice Job Toyota!
The very first TRD pro was released in 2015. I have one of two manuals in Orange (Inferno red) color. We believe there was only two manufactured in crew cab, 6 speed manual, Orange color (total truck built was ~1200 that year). I picked it up shy of $38K plus tax in all cash in Escondido, CA with 3 miles on it (flew down there and drove it back). To think in ~10 years, the prices are now nearly double is something. BTW, I drove that truck to the Prudhoe bay and back in Winter, 12K miles. The thread on that is at Tacoma World.
That’s crazy, I almost had the other one! There was a used one in California at CARMAX. I had them ship it to Vegas so I could drive down, test drive it, and pick it up. They never called me when it arrived and they sent it back to California. They said they tried calling me but I never got a phone call from them. I didn’t realize how rare it was at the time. Im not saying they didn’t call me on purpose, im just saying it’s a little suspicious. They also didn’t hold onto the truck for 48 hours like their website says they would. Oh well… im just depressed now.
@@hunterbrooks1681 That's right, the first two (only two in manual in Orange crew cab) were dispatched to Escondido, CA and Columbus, OH as far as I know. I had deposit on both!!! I was in conversation with nearly 50 Toyota dealers at this point. I had flight tickets for other one as well. Fortunately for me, the CA arrived first. It is so rare (since it is the 1st and last year of that body style TRD pro) that the truck was hidden from public view. The manager asked if I could fly the next day, this way, they can show it off on display. When I went to pick up, the owner of the dealership had it hidden inside a storage for me. I truly appreciated the extent he went through for me. When I pulled it out of the storage for final dealer prep and drove off the lot, it had 5 miles ;). Then I prepped the truck for 8 months and hit the road to Alaska in winter driving through snow, blizzard hitting -50 on the dalton!
$65K folks, for both the Pro and Trailhunter. Good luck with a $1200+ a month commitment. Toyota has lost touch with its buyers.
There are lower trims for you to buy 😄or buy the last gen trd pro tacoma
@sang8720 I think your missing the point
I’ve been buying Toyota trucks all my adult life. Not buying this one.
Full-size money got me a full size truck. With a V8. Tacoma is dead to me.
All that intro hype music only for the host to immediately put us to sleep
Where's the next XO big trip going? Africa was sick!
Should have shown more riding but there are other Channels
Are people super rich to afford these vehicles?? 2:28
Matt was the ride-along that worked the event we were at.
They're not super rich. They've just had wages that have kept up with inflation unlike the other 90% of the population.
I am not but I have a 60K full size off-road truck. Saved so much money on hotel cost.
Toyota missed the mark with this one. The Tacoma TRD Pro is $63,900 while the Colorado ZR2 and Ranger Raptor undercut that price at $46,800 and $55,470 while both being even more capable and having more wheel travel than the TRD Pro. Why would I even consider the Tacoma? XOverland, if you have a suggestion as to why, I would in all seriousness be curious.
Wonder if this was filmed before or after Throttle House broke a Land Cruiser while unsupervised
Looking forward to when Expedition Overland is done with all the 2024 Toyota commercials and back to substantive adventure videos. There's only so much Toyota hype a guy can take.
Waóhola, Akicita
Rachelle knows what she wants for Christmas. That Trailhunter is calling me more though.
That is a Lexus GX price!!
No way I’m buying this instead of a Lexus
$70K, no back seat room, and a squeak! Lol
Best looking truck but also the most expensive truck. Get the TRD Off-Road Premium I-Force Max and you have a Pro minus the Fox shocks and dynamic seats. Don't see why you would want a Pro at the price, the Off-Road is just fine. The Ranger Raptor is cheaper but only before options and running costs will make up the difference.
Running costs? The Ford will be less
@@Jeepingshort how so, fuel cost? Not sure but Service cost and warranty be cheaper?
@@braalo07I would bet the service cost won't be any different. Toyota does not have the reliability it used to and this new I force max engine is already showing heating issues with the turbo. That's coming from Tacomabeast who are the biggest Tacoma nut riders there are
Zr2 is way better looking and better for off road
Time to look at a Nissan frontier and Honda Ridgeline.
Ridgeline is not in the same league. But the Nissan is absolutely the best bang-for-the-buck.
@@DeuceDeuceBravo but I can get a used low mile Ridgeline sport about 25k. Some come with a bash plate so, not on the same level but still capable. 3rd party parts are good and affordable.
@@RoguePlanetStudio Unibody is not comparable, even with bash plates.
Ridgeline 🤣🤣🤣🤣 doesn't even have a frame🤣🤣🤣
Yeah Trailhunter is designed for overlanding and expeditions while TRD Pro is for speed and fun play 👍
The way Toyotas going the 5th Gen Tacoma will cost a hundred thousand dollars.
Quit exaggerating, base price will begin at $77,500 for the 5th Gen Tacoma. 🤣
@@Gabez82 Yeah but that doesn’t include wheels or tires. Those are gonna be seperate😂
What’s frustrating about Toyota’s high speed off-road model the “trd pro” can’t keep up with a ranger raptor or bronco raptor in the whoops. The 2.5 shocks are overplayed now, Toyota should have added longer upper and lower control arms like those previously mentioned vehicles that are properly built for fast off-road. The wider stance is from fender flares and wheel offset not from increased wheel travel like a proper long travel suspension system does.
It can easily keep up man
ZR2 is still the best bang for your buck---too bad it unreliable.
Lol at this truck
now just make those suspension seats inside the seat so it doesn't take up leg room.
Man it really looks like a Colorado sometimes. 😢
Two words: Ranger Raptor
One word: Nah.
Multiple word: trash trash but the twin turbo sounds good
Ranger Raptor has entered the chat
I want a pro where and who sells them for 500 over invoice ? Missouri Texas ?
$65K for a midsize truck? 🤔
Yup. And Toyota will sell every Pro it produces.
BTW--Any one taller than 5'3" will not fit in the back. Check out dude in the back...he needs to sit in the middle cross-legged 😅
Is the hood scoop for show or functional? "Fake" hood scoops to me are a waste.
Its fake.
@@cfhstyo Yeah, I figued it was. Most hood scoops are.
Does that small battery cost 30k or wth 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Dude a Tesla model s with the huge battery pack is $22k, you really think this Toyota small battery pack is $30k?
Post what you think the IQ of an individual needs to be for them to WILLINGLY purchase a 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro. Or for that matter, ANY 4th gen trim. To add perspective. My 2019 voodoo blue pro was 41k in late 2019 new.
I will start off. -10
IQ with lots of money 🎉
Duh
SR5 TACO on local Dealer’s lot for $50k 😅
i think the seats has to be optional… not a fun
Ford ranger raptor and colorado zr2 would go through whoops section faster... plus both have the same amount of tech as this but for less money, lot less money compared to zr2. Toyota just priced themselves out of the leading midsized category!
first!
Nice work!
Not a chance. Not one single chance. Nope.
Toyota’s screwing their customer base. Not only that, at THIS price, they’re manufacturing it in Mexico. We know all about that good old Mexican Toyota quality. 🤮 I’m not anti-Toyota, and I’m not bitter. I’m buying a Toyota this summer, and I have a $130k budget. So I could buy two of these, cash, no financing. But I’m choosing to get a ‘24 4Runner. Screw these stupid prices. Toyota’s heading towards a rough wake-up call.
If you really have a $130k budget then the new Lexus GX is the one to get.
Why would anyone buy this over a Raptor? Toyota missed a golden opportunity to include some real suspension upgrades like longer arms instead of just some colorful control arms and fancier shocks. Instead they gave us stuff that nobody wants like gimmicky seats and a power tailgate.
Toyota should be ashamed for these prices. They could’ve came out with the pro at 58k and sold a million of them. Nope, they went with making the most profit as possible….it will look good on the books for the first 6 or so months….then these will be hugely discounted. Where I am from, you can buy a nice 2000sq ft house for about 300k and at the Toyota dealership they want almost 70k for a MID SIZED truck. Let’s do the math on what is more important/doesn’t immediately depreciate
2k sq ft $300k where? Where I am now 2k sq ft is $1.5m and up in the SF Bay Area. $50-70k cars are dime a dozen here.
Go overseas the Toyota 4x4”s are far far better and cheaper. I have had them and they are better built and ultra reliable
My A6 all road would smoke it!
Truck looks cool. Disappointment with price and lame power train. Land Cruiser also dissapointment. Can’t believe Toyota dropped ball this hard
my eyes on his knees all the time that must be hurting 3:34 the second roll space.... even my m4 coupe better
I’d give em 50k out the door for it not a penny more
I told Porsche the same thing, $80k OTD for that new 911….not a single response.
I just got a brand new, F150 with a V8, all the trim, with dealer installed lift and tires for the same price as this boosted 4banger hybrid POS that won’t last.
Toyota has lost the plot.
2 things... too expensive and back seat looks completely useless for anything other than a dog or small child.
Overpriced, lets go brandon
This truck is not worth the $65K+
Wish I had Toyota as a sponsor too then I could get paid to bend the truth and get caught up in my almighty YOUTUBING that I would forget the poor people.
TRD Pro is 2.4L engine... These times are getting worse. Looks like Hilux is best pickup from Toyota for now czcams.com/video/M0kkx0J8I6Y/video.html
With O' Biden in office, I'll never be able to buy this.
😂 Looks like just another Jeep Wannabe and for that price hard pass
Overpriced with no auto 4x4😂😂😂
What an ugly looking truck😂
This truck is NOT for everyone! Its for people with good taste and big pockets!
...who don't want the actually better Ford Ranger Raptor and who don't understand cognitive dissonance and so mistakenly think that paying more money magically makes something better - horses for courses
@@antonroux6737 The Raptor is an Uglee truck!
