ROYAL TOUR. QUEEN IN CEYLON

(29 Apr 1954) The Queen celebrated her birthday in Ceylon, and before leaving that beautiful land, she attended a birthday parade in her honour. Previously the Queen and the Duke had gone up-country to Polonnaruwa, where a visit was made to the famous shrine amid the rocks. A great welcome was given to Her Majesty and the Duke when they went on to Kandy.
