Some people from my last video wanted me to review Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet's performance in note taking apps and content watching.
Here is an all in one video for note taking, drawing, reading and a bonus tip at the end.

I've seen that this video somehow is getting attention of the viewers.
So, I felt the need to jot down all the issue I've been facing till now with this tablet and pen.
Issues:
1. Poor Palm Rejection.
2. Pen shuts down sometimes. It will work again after Power Off and On of tab.
( happened rarely like 1 time in 2 months. And restart won't work. Has to be power Off/On )
3. While watching CZcams videos, it exits fullscreen when ads pop up.
( Sometimes it doesn't do that ).
(Issue with most android tabs)
4. In Google Keeps, if you write in split screen mode, pen is little bold even in the thinnest setting. It gets corrected when you write without split screen.
5. CZcams videos sometimes start to glitch, not sure about the reason. Cache could be the issue.
6. Its becomes hard to swipe CZcams duration bar at the bottom, or may be pages of the book at the bottom.
Because same gesture is used to switch between opened apps.

Will keep updating in case I found any other glitch.

Mi canvas is really good. It works great for the pen but the downside is that it lacks most features. I hope they can turn it into a full featured note taking app in the future. That would be a nice exclusive app for purchasing their tablets.
I mostly use Nebo and Notewise. Nebo perfects the basics but lacks a lot of advanced features while Notewise is probably the best allrounder in my opinion.

do you have any issues with the system HyperOS so far ? i heard some ppls were complaining about it
I have not faced any noticeable issues. CZcams rarely glitches becuase of OS or what not sure, there's nothing running other than CZcams but still video and audio is not synced and video glitches even on 720p. But that's quite rare. Most of the times 4k runs smoothly with multiple apps opened. Other than that nothing major.
How was the writing experience?
Is it like writing in paper or is it like writing in glass?
Is there any metal in the nib of the pen?
Writing experience is like writing on glass. Nib is rubber like plastic so it does give very little resistance. You can use paperlike screen film to get better grip. There's no metal in the nib.
Is it better to buy iped 9 gen or xiaomi pad 6 for gaming taking notes and watching movies which one do u recommend?
For gaming, notes and movies go with Xiaomi pad 6.
For note taking only and cheap option ipad 9 is good.
do you cover ur screen with tempered glass or something (ie. paperlike film)?
Yes, I use tempered glass.

I haven't used ipad, sorry my friend can't comment on this. But pad 6 is quite good in this area.
Can we drag images directly from google while taking notes or doing ppts.
Yes you can split the screen between notes app and google. Simply drag images from google to notes.
Hello. I also have the same tablet, just want to ask if you also experience youtube exiting fullscreen when ads pop up? I always have to click fullscreen again, it's kind of annoying. Is there any way to fix this?
Yes, its frustrating. It happens occasionally, not sure what's the reason behind it.

Yes for sure, buy xiaomi smart pen, don't rely on 3rd party pens. Just choose the app wisely and keep things organised. Tablet is not going to give you any issue. It does glitch sometimes but that's quite rare and nothing serious.

Now that you've mentioned it... I checked it and yes its a little wobbly. But I never realised it in normal use. Its a very little wobble, that too if you try intentionally.

Hey, I'm sorry here I will not be of much help. I have Mac and it has issue with the app. In tablet, app installs and all seem well but in mac I'm not able to run this app. I hope someone in the comments will help.
@@pro_not No problem mate, thanks for replying. Btw, I actually got a response from the developer of the app and they said that Xiaomi devices including the pad 6 are supported. Still waiting for my pen to arrive but currently I see little to no latency when drawing by hand which is good since I will use it like a wacom tablet.
Does this tablet have a good palm rejection? Would you recommend it for an electrical engineer student? I get a little scared to buy it, because everyone in my university uses iPad or samsung and not Xiaomi
If you have budget then go with samsung or iPad. I was tight on budget and wanted a good tablet that can handle my art and Note-taking softwares. Xiaomi is good choice for this budget.
Can you write with little thickness like 0.5 mm ? i do not have xiaomi gen 2 pen and i can not write with little thikness my pen is not accurate what about the xioami gen 2 pen?
Yes, there are pen thickness setting for that. Also with pressure sensitivity you can get thin and thick lines both, according to the pressure applied.
Do you recommend it to me? I'm thinking about buying it but I'm a student and I currently have a Xiaomi redmi pad and I want to go for a more powerful processor. You haven't had any problems when writing with the pencil. I mean, is it very precise or not? accurate?. I would still play about 3 games that weigh around 8GB, greetings 🤗❤️
Yes, all in all its a good budget friendly tablet. I feel there are some glitches here and there. But if you already using redmi pad then you definitely going to like pad 6. Pen is good, its precise, sensitivity and tilt works well. 8gb model would be a good choice. If there's any store nearby then you can try handson. Cheers ✨💕

I need to do excessive note taking bit i want this handwriting to be in form of text in document as i want to then open it into my window pc for further formatting So is it possible? possible to do that
Taking handwritten notes and converting them to text notes and then again editing them seems like a time consuming task. I've personally never tried it.
You can convert handwritten notes or pdfs into text based format from some online websites or apps too for example NitroPro or Adobe scan. There are plenty of OCR apps out there.

Hello, you won't find this on the Play Store sadly. You can use UpToDown website to download MiCanvas. It's a safe legitimate website. By the way it should've come preinstalled.
Also, if you have MiStore installed and have an Mi account, you can download from MiStore too.

If you want a free reader then XoDo and Foxit are the best one I have used till now. It works for all, android, pc. With free version - without login - you can do the following with these two.
1. Highlight, underline, strike through, squigly underlines.
2. Draw over.
3. Dictionary, read out loud.
4. Note adding.
5. Cloud storage upto 2gb - need to login
6. Google search option for selected phrase.
What you don't have -
1. Adding text, some AI feature.
2. Extended cloud storage.
3. Many more.
If you can afford to buy then there's nothing better than Acrobat Reader.

Personally I use OneNote. It's easy and credible. If you want something similar to good notes then go with NoteWise app its free for android.

Xiaomi pad 6 or samsung s9 fe?
Only for studying (keeping in mind tasks won't need high processing or local storage) Samsung S9 is better choice. Only because of the OS and the pen. Xiaomi is an all rounder type of tablet, with some glitches here and there.
I am watching this on my Xiaomi pad 6, so cool 😊 , however be careful with the case because the magnetic can disconnect the pencil, I got that problem today , now I need to buy a non magnetic case.😢
Oh is that so? Magnetic case causes tab to lock sometimes but pen also disconnects I didn't know that. Also congrats on your purchase 🎉
@@pro_not YESS, Yesterday I struggled because the pen wasn't working well it keep disconnecting, but now when I remove the case it's works better and disconnect less, I did a unboxing video tho :))

Hello, I tried Google sheets and it works well. I couldn't try MS excel as it's paid. Hope that helps.🙌🏼

@@noirtherieya yes you can pair a bluetooth keyboard and you are good to go. I personally have only done notes writing /typing in OneNote mostly and it works well.

That's called HiPaint. It's an Android clone of Procreate.

I don't see nay latency issue in NoteWise. It works pretty smoothly.

@@grumpycat2875 It works well and everything but the biggest problem I have is the ram, I have the basic version of 4 RAM and too little that I can't take advantage of many functions because of that and it's too annoying
Can you still write while a part of your hand is on screen?
When the pen nib touches the screen (or is hovering over the screen near about 1-1.5cm above), your hand touch is disabled. So, yes you can write with the pen even when your hand is touching the screen.

Hello, yes for drawing its really good if paired with xiaomi smart pen. For studies like note taking, book reading, content watching. All are really good, its portable have good battery life. You can go for it.

Its kind of a subjective question. I take notes that are simple and quick without any decorations. I find OneNote app quite good. Login and accessing notes across all devices is a major thing to me. But if you are someone who enjoys note taking and decorates as well, I would suggest to go with NoteWise / TouchNote / Kilonotes. They all have export to PDF options but you can find out if free version of these is fulfilling your needs.

Yes, its good for Note-taking. Palm Rejection could be one issue. But there are ways to work with it. Like using palm glove or setting only pen usage. You can get tablet, pen, cover and tempered in or under Rs 32k

Paid apps, I have not tried. I feel that free apps are more than enough. They offer almost everything you'll ever need and if they don't, you can easily find an alternative way.
Can i use as a second monitor ?
I have a second monitor, I connect via thunderbolt. You have screen cast option, you can use to cast to TV or other external device. I have not use it much, so can not comment much on this brother. Hope you find it helpful. 🙌🏻

@@samarpreetsingh6661 Not really. In day to day tasks or in drawing, everything is way smoother. I faced lagging only while editing 4k video, that too after many cuts and edits.

If your work heavily rely on pen usage then I would still suggest xiaomi smart pen. You can get this upto 4k in sales and discounts. There are other 3rd party pens too but compatibility can be the issue and they might not work as seamless as xiaomi smart pen.
i so want this for note making. only for notes nothing else. but I'm running tight on my budget. so i csnt buy the Xiaomi pen.

I can understand, there are not many good choices under budget.
If you want the tablet solely for notes, then a good pen becomes mandatory.
You can still compromise a little on the performance side as note taking apps are quite lite.
I would suggest to buy pen with xiaomi tablet. You can wait for any upcoming sale. With pen this tablet was 30k rupees. Price might go down in future.
Otherwise, you can try Samsung tabs if you like one, like S6 lite. They were made specially for note taking and their pen is so good. I have never used so I can not comment much.

Yes, palm rejection is there. It's not that good though. I mostly use glove while drawing.

Hey, its most probably because of the pdf. The pdf you are using must be a scan copy of a hardcover book. So, in short its just images put together. Translate only works for the text pdfs. Try to get any dummy TEXT pdf just to check if translate works on that pdf. Other than that I don't see any reason why translate won't work.

Is the palm rejection working for kilonotes and MS Onenote?
I work with only pen setting. So, this way you can not write with finger or palm. You still can use your hand to scroll the screen or chose any option. Palm Rejection is not up to the expectation.

@@Nepalsociall No, not at all. I've seen such reviews, so I specially tested this. Tried pen before the tempered and after the tempered. It's exactly same. May be becuase of the tempered glass I used, I see no difference. 🙌🏻

Man, they tried but palm rejection kinda sucks. If you see any of my shorts you will see blobs of ink coming from my palm. Its quite irritating. I have to use a glove. If pen tip is about 1-2cm above the screen then fine, but go a little over it and you will get marks from your palm.

Hello, There are ways in which you can add a pdf in OneNote.
1. Click on "Insert" tab
2. there is a paper clip button, click on that
3. It will open the storage so you can Select the pdf or any other file.
4. It will ask you to insert the file as - Attachment or Print out.
And you are done.
Attachment option will create an icon in your note. If you click on that icon, your file will open in another pdf reader.
If you chose Printout option. Your pdf file will be added page by page in your note. Like multiple images of each page of book. You can draw on these pages too.

@@nonothatsaverage7680 might be due to the oneNote page length was reached. I have tried to add 2 books one with 250 pages which was fully added. And another one with 500 pages but here only 100 pages were added. So in total almost about 350 to 400 pages pdf you can add.

My pad sometimes automatically off and on
Do you use magnetic fold cover? If so, then it will lock by itself if the case cover is not correctly aligned with the back. Magnets can interact with the sensor and locks the device.

No nothing major, only issue is palm rejection. But can be overlooked.

I have been using for 2 months And I face it sometimes
Oh yes, its not lag for me but some weird behaviors. Like zoom in and out sometimes makes the pencil fonts weird, it makes it too dark sometimes.

@@devanshiverma7564 yes that's the problem, this pencil is expensive but there are no 3rd party pens that can beat this pen. So ultimately had to buy this pen for better experience. Its good but not as good as apple or Samsung pen but way better than 3rd party pens.

First 3 points are available in OneNote. Tags are not available in android version sadly, its there in PC version. And translation not sure. Its there in google keeps but its not a serious note taking app.
