- This one is definitely something we have been talking about for a lonnnnng time. We get a lot of questions every day- some of them are really good, well thought out questions that really make us all think. Real brain busters.
But some questions.... oh some questions, we have answered a million times it feels like. Some can be found on Google. Some we answer on our Instagram page or over at OnesReady.com. Some we feel like broken records!
So, we all sat down and said to each other, "Well, the easiest way to fix this problem is just to make a podcast answering all these questions! And then, heaven forbid anyone ask us these questions again, we can just say- check out episode #31!" So that's exactly what we did.
Do you have really basic questions and just need a place to start? Got a friend that is thinking about Air Force Special Tactics and wants to know the most basic information? Well, then this one is for you. As always, welcome back into the Team Room!

Such a great point on "show us you can do it our way." At our place, the hardest thing for some experienced operators to do is let go of their conditioned solutions and learn new ways to solve complex problems. Reverse learning is not easy. Learn to seek critical feedback and keep pushing your mind forward.
Currently in development in Texas for Special Operations and I’m pushing for PJ! Pushing for August ship date. Love you guys!
might see you there! i should be leaving in august as well
Good luck!
How long did the process take to get pushed out for basic to then get to sw prep and A&S. I want to sign my papers in November of this year but if I have to sign them sooner to be pushed out by November/December then I will. I’m worried that I’ll sign in November and then won’t be shipped out for months and months later
29:35 Thank you. I really needed those words because I think I can give so much but the limiting factor of parents really holds my decisions and dreams.
Its nice to hear a little bit about my Local SOR, I wasn't expecting you guys to mention the tampa recruiters but that info is super helpful, im still working to get my weight down to get them to talk to me but im almost there. Thank you guys so much for all these amazing videos!
Keep it up brother.

I emailed them a question..... Then I found this episode, and now I feel like a dumbass for not looking through their catalog hard enough....HAHA
Thank you for putting this content out there. Amazing resources- I'm almost left wanting more.

The intellect of Trent is appreciated. Without even thinking, he answered the "can women join?" question without hesitation. They're all great dudes all around
Finished Jump School at age 32 then off to 507th DASS, TACP Shaw AFB in 1967. AFSC 304*4 ground radio repair. Went to Vietnam in 1969 as a CCT. Not the oldest to go through Jump School but be sure your in Very good shape.
That's bad ass!
Great episode guys! Just a heads up you missed a time stamp at 26:44 (“I don’t have support of my friends/family”)
Great video with a lot of my questions answered! Just got in contact with my local recruiter and found out that they have developers to help you prepare for selection and the pipeline! Honestly put me at ease knowing that they try and give you as much help as they can. Thanks again for the great content and hard work! It’s greatly appreciated!
Going to MEPS on Tuesday hoping to be shipped out August 17 for pararescue! Never been more excited for anything in my life
YO TELL ME HOW IT WENT. PLEASE
In my 30s here about to go to assessment, as long as my body doesnt break i should be gtg. Looking forward to being the gramps lol
Awesome show guys. Thanks for the peek. Shipping out later this month . 30s = purpose work time! Aim High Airman
You’ve touched on it briefly in one podcast I think, but is there a need for or a particular way to balance eating enough/timing with sleep and avoiding a full stomach during events, particularly swimming? Are candidates limited to three big meals a day at the dfac/MREs, or are snacks available?
Thank you for the great information
Another awesome podcast. Thanks guys!!
Listening to you guys driving from Midland tx to Marshall tx. Thank you for this guys. Going to go see a SOR in Louisiana...Hopefully I can find one there
From Midland, Tx too 💪🏼
Idk if it’s any shorter of a drive but there’s one in Fort Worth
Joshua Jones moved out here from south Florida my recruiter is midland. Good luck man
I was driving some equipment for work. Sorry guys. I'm an Okie boy. If yall know of any SOR in Oklahoma that would be nice.
love you guys! keep up the great content. i should be going to meps this week, hopefully everything goes well. i’m too excited to be shipped out
Nice work
Shout out Tampa we out here!!!
What are the standards for the pipelines, and what all do the instructors look for to keep you in the pipeline?
There used to be a USAF Dep Battlefield Airmen handbook pdf on Google, can't find it anymore. There is something else, however, Google, "RAND Corporation › pubsPDF
Evaluating the Physical Fitness Requirements of Battlefield Airmen - RAND Corporation". Looks like it provides the same info as that Dep pdf.
EDIT: nvm, it's still on the web, just keep in mind that it's not current, should have useful info though: www.scribd.com/document/383057296/DEP-Reference-04-18-Docx-1
Watch their video on A&S and their interview with the former A&S instructor
Thanks. I’ll do that later
I originally planned to go in as a sere specialist and then try for special reconnaissance. I really want to do special reconnaissance but I get uncertain if I can pass certain things. In particular, pull ups. I want to do special recon so bad though.
If he does not come then do not have to come because it will be difficult to travel to Thailand. Thank you for contacting me to know the news.
LET'S FUCKIN GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Bryan always has the best lighting lol
I had a question about joining as a Special Warfare Officer. It seems like all enlisted Specwar are eligible for a $17,000 One-time Initial Enlistment Bonus. Are their any bonuses (one-time or monthly) available to Special Warfare Officers? Thanks.
Do you guys have any insight on joining now during the mutually assured destruction shtf end of the world pandemic? I'm sure things are closed or postponed an whatnot.
Been watching your guys videos for a while. Couldn’t qualify legally for Air Force spec war but I’m going to meps next week for navy swcc. Does Air Force special ops have to complete 3 weeks of sere also?
Yes besides EOD I think
Do you mind elaborating on the "not qualifying legally"? Not trying to bust your balls, I'm just heavily considering CCT and was curious what happened with your decision.
@@ross9804 He probably couldn’t qualify for TS clearance
What is everyone doing in regards to pools being closed? I was swimming 5 days a week and now I can’t find a place that is open.
Also, how has covid affected recruiting and training?
big yes to this q
Helping me so much! (son in pipeline)
Thats amazing for you son! Do you have any idea how much preparation he did?
Want to know if he will come to Thailand or not, because I don't work at a bar anymore, come back home
Theres a 180lbs requirement for being 5'8. Or maybe my Special Warefare recruiter is getting me in solid ripped shape, if i go to meps and find out theres not i definatly won't be mad. My weight 214. Tuesday was 220. Costco Quinoa & Brown Rice with Garlic.
It's 180 just to get into BMT, I'm 5'8 and enlisting next year
@Peaches, you mentioned the eye requirement changed. Can you link a reference? *I'm not at a location that I have access to a SOR and my local med unit isn't helpful.
Shoot me an email at jared@onesready.com.
What is the best boots for specops
But the real question is, "Beards allowed?"
What’s the difference between AFSPECWAR and NAVSPECWAR
Kevin N I guess the most basic answer would be branch and mission set difference but otherwise I’m not sure
Does the beapj.com website also apply for cct training?
Yes, because both PJ and CCT both go to A&S together.
@@OnesReady thanks for the fast response
I'm 5'4" can I skip to AFSPECWAR now?
I live in NH do you know if there’s a SOR recruiter up here? If not Should I just contact a regular Air Force recruiter or should I reach out to a SOR recruiter from a different state? Thanks guys
SOR's are regionally based, so you may not have one in your town. That's okay though because one SOR will service a large area of that state or even multiple states. Go to airforce.com>connect>find recruiter>zip code>education level>interested in special operations and it will give you the SOR you need to contact.
Ones Ready Awesome thanks again!
@@cpietras342 I grew up in NH. Good luck with everything man! I was prior navy and the closest recruiter was 1.5 hrs away.
Marshall Smith Nice! Yeah the closest recruiter to me is an hour away LOL.
@@cpietras342 I would recommend looking on cone connect. I found a guy near me to workout with.
Will it be hard to get through MEPS if you have a full sleeve tattoo?
Nope, you should be good unless it's profanity or something vulgar.
Ones Ready thank you!
Hey fellas. I tried to go through a SpecWar Recruiter and he referred me to a different MSgt; I’m guessing due to me being previous service and my unique situation. He told me that if I wash out of selection for SpecWar or SERE that there wouldn’t be an opportunity for me to re-train in a different specialty. Basically that if I wash out I would be discharged and separated. Is that accurate? Could it be due to me having previous (not prior) service?
Did you ever get an answer? I’m prior service (Army) so I’m in the same boat
👍
Frank, he never emailed me.
Can prior service army join the pipeline?!
Yep! We did multiple different podcasts on this one! Hit up the IG page.
Chance of joining aspec war with glasses?
Sean Burke I think for TACPs and another AFSC for SW can obtain a waiver, but google it
Ulysses I did, very unclear answers, I’ll just contact a recruiter lol
Sean Burke yeah that might just be your best bet. Good luck man
Ulysses thanks bro!
As long as its 20/200 or less and corrected to 20/20.
