I found when I replaced my fronts that loosening the lower control arm bolts helped a lot as you're not fighting the bushings. They should be loose when setting ride height anyway so they can be tightened when the suspension is in a neutral position.
Correct
beautiful!

Thanks for putting up the video! I'm finding this super useful and as I am about to go through this install myself on my new-to-me 2008 NC1. Would you happen to know where to find the torque specs for the bolts to the struts?
Miata.net should have them for you 💪🏻
Wouldn’t the upper control arm offset bushing actually make the clearance *tighter*, given that the offset bushings pull the arm (and top of tire) inward?
You’re right haha I just had to think about that 😅
You have answered my question :D
I had offset upper A-arm bushings and had interference with the shock on the A-arm. The offset pulls the A-arm inward which reduces the clearance. I had -5 camber when I checked it after install. It will be interesting to see what you have.
❤
So whats your opinion on the xidas now, that youve gotten some track time with them? How are they on the street. I’ve been thinking about buying a set but Im stuck between touring and race rates.
Still loving the XIDAS, street compliance actually is still really good, given my setup on the car with the stiffer control arms and bushings. XIDAs just soak up bumps so damn well. For a street only car, the touring rates would be excellent. Could see myself even going on a long road trip with them and still being comfortable
