Holy Crap! That was great. That Wally has to be one of the most talented and charming guys I ever saw. Great number altogether. The kids are great, too.
What a kooky act - eccentric dancing, singing, and balloons. I'm sure not one of the Mouseketeers was capable of actually blowing up a balloon - I think few people can do it, especially not one after another. I assume Wally didn't smoke, because he needed all the possible lung power he could muster.
Is still have some boagaloons. I wish stores would still sell balloons that you can blow up without a pump. I have seen his act so many times at the Golden Horseshoe. I was fortunate to get an autographed copy of his book. RIP Wally Boag. I look for your window on Main Street USA at Disneyland every time I'm there.
@Celamim You can hear Wally's voice quite a few times on the Disneyland 50th Anniversary boxset(2005), including one of his classic performances on the Golden Horseshoe Revue...shame the world doesn't have more people like him....
Love old dear Wally, had the chance to do a Golden Horseshoe Trubuite show for him 3/31/08 and will post a bit of it on my youtube for all to see. ApePenPubDisneyland
Steve Martin used to watch this guy as a young comedian, and model a lot of what he did after him. When Boag used to perform in English music halls (in this case abpot 1946 or 1947), he involved a 12-year-old Julie Andrews in his act. One of those people not enough people have heard of, but who worked with a lot of people everyone has heard of. Bless you, Wally.
+LandondeeL I like Wally's Uncle joke better... "I have an uncle who was a kleptomaniac. That's a person who finds things before ya lose em and decided to keep em for himself, but he's reformed, he only steals things now beginning with A... A Watch... A Car... A Purse... A Wallet."
wow, how awsome it would have been to be a mouskateer back then(yes im a disney fan). Walt Disney gets such a bad rep from family guy and the simpsons, he was an awsome man
He met Julie Andrews once. You may see a photo of Wally with Julie when you and your 👪 go on vacation to Disneyland. It's in the lobby of the Disneyland 🏨.
LONNIE - cut off again. Season Two: from memory only, all but 10 of the 24 kids season one were retired, along with 4 others early on; hired new were Cheryl, Charlie, Margene, Jay Jay, Larry - the eldest -1939, and Eileen, swell pianist. I might try to clarify further but the cut offs are a "drag". [dating myself - which is not what you think]. EIGHT original Mice have died, the last two were Annie on April 8, 2013 and Dickie [Dick Dodd, 1 of our 2 Latinos in 1955!] in December, 2013. mouseketeerlonnieburr.comLONNIE
A-B-C: Annette, Bonnie, and Cheryl....3 extremely beautiful Mousketeers, all sadly no longer with us.....
Now D is gone as well.

Are you referring to Doreen?
That guy taught Steve Martin everything he knows. If you've ever seen "Parenthood," you'd know what I mean.

RIP Wally. :(
I actually have some boagallons myself given to me by Wally. He's a great family friend of ours and it such an honor to know this great man! :D
That Wally Boag is still alive!

I remember seeing every single episode of The Mickey Mouse Club very much when I was much younger and boy did I enjoy watching it very much.

0:37 I believe that the boy Don is Don Grady who was Robbie Douglas on My Three Sons.

OMG, Don Grady!! I never remembered seeing him on MMC when he was on My Three Sons
Great Clip! I only wish Disney had the foresight to film these things onto color film!!
I remember when you did this! I used to play with these kids! Keep up the great work, Pop.

Great clip. If I'm not mistaken, Steve Martin also started out bending balloons at Disneyland.
The Golden Horseshoe Saloon baloon man.
Voice actor behind Jose and Juan from Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room located in Disneyland.
Rest In Peace Annette, Bonnie, Cheryl and Doreen.
You four will be missed but never forgotten by your Mickey Mouse Club very much.
Please think positive at all times. ©®

Steve learned everything about "balloons" for his Disneyland gig from Wally Boag, 'IDLE'. This is indeed a 1956 "Guest Star Day" segment.....
I didn't know Wally could tap
0:51 In the coming generation, that joke would become much more topical.
