Wish this were properly emulated in MAME, I've always wanted to play both HNG64 Sam Sho games, the allure of the series has always drawn me in. In a time I was stuck on the Mortal Kombat machines, Samurai Shodown got me off of them.
This game is amazing! I don't care what anyone says. Only kids care more about graphics than gameplay ect. Graphics are a wonderful part of what makes a game fun but they are not the most important part and a true gamer should understand this. Most kids today just don't get it. On a different not I think Shiki is one of the better Samurai Spirits characters to be honest. Loved her story over all , how she became a mother and what she learned to feel and who she was in the end. I felt she was humanized very well for a character who started out originally unable to feel emotions normally. P.S ( Also I think that the battle announcer might be Fumiko Orikasa who is famous for voicing Rukia Kuchiki in the massively popular Bleach franchise. )
I really enjoy this game from the gameplay, music and the graphics. I like the blend of 2D art with 3D graphics. Thanks for the info and for checking out the gameplay.
You mean its about the Art style and character design not to mention the sound presentation. This game has that otherwise graphics isn't all that to brag
I don't understand why they never release this version on any of the collections its always the same damn games in the shodown collections for the past 15 years and never the 64 which is probably the best in the series. its been 20 years since ive played this game and ive been dying and i keep looking at how the emulation is coming a long.
I wish SNK would release these games as a bonus or something. They really don't deserve to be lost in obscurity. The art is amazing. Somehow there were three Hyper Neo Geo 64 cabinets in my neighborhood in the late 90's (one was even in a jewelry store of all places) lol. We actually liked the games.
I am not quite sure. The eye test tells me that Dreamcast was a horse. Powerful little system based of the Naomi boards. Look at Soulcaliber and that would tell you everything you need to know. The NG64 had a short life span so it's hard to tell.

@@snkfightfan0187 thats cool no worries, in that case... are you using mame to run ss64? If that's the case can you help me with it? Because I downloaded mame on my pc windows 10 n tried to run the game with the rom n bios from wowroms.com & nothing works
@@MrLoKo2020 I don't think the emulators for this game really works. He says in the description he's using a capture card so he's probably playing it on original hardware + supergun

@@MrLoKo2020 Hate to say it but it's a very rare game as well 3500 copies or so. Hopefully emulation gets around to working well. I'm sure eventually it will.
@@sleepyblade It's not so much about being a powerful hardware, rather people haven't found a way to realistically mimic the hardware. If you see hardware such as the Dreamcast, PS2, and Gamecube, they have more horsepower but were emulated first, this is due to the knowledge and accessibility people had it to emulate it. While the HNG64 there doesn't seem to be a lot of units laying around or interest (from capable people) in basically figuring out how it works, it could also be that the hardware is complicated, kinda like the Sega Saturn which only now is being emulated well since it's a complex piece of hardware, even though power-wise it is comparable to the PS1.
So far, Shiki's the only 3D Samurai Shodown character integrated into the 2.5D Samurai Shodown.
Only dreamcast version Made justice to this greatest hit game of SNK... Needed a remake to this game..

@@Ifalvarado Any true gamer knows graphics are bottom list of what makes a good game. Sure they are nice but it is far far from the biggest factor.
I think the voice narrator is Kaori Minami, the same voice actress for Shiki

Me too, but they essentially lost the source code and assets when SNK went bankrupt. That's why SS64 and 64II never got any ports.

I dont think its your laptop. From what I hear, there is no emulator that can run these games well. I am running real hardware for this vid.
