I’ve just snuck into the end of 2023 with the Eihodo aged squirrel hair 55mm powder brush from CD Japan. I’ve been going to pick up a longer squirrel hair brush, that is a little less delicate than the Maiko brush (because I don’t want to damage the makie). So with the plain handle hopefully it won’t get dinged up in my clumsy hands.
Hi! Congrats on picking it up! It sounds lovely. I purchased that one too and can't wait to receive it. I know what you mean about the fancy handles and clumsy hands (same here), but thankfully I find the maki-e handles to be quite durable and never experienced chipping or fading! ❤
@@FluffyFude well, since it was gifted by some lovely person 😜 I don’t want to destroy it. I already managed to severely ding the ferrule of that long handled deka fupa. And it literally just tipped over. I don’t understand WHAT happened 🤷♀️ I ended up sticking a skewer into it to try and sort it out a bit, but it was messed up enough that I also bought another as a spare in case the bristles really start falling out or something. So yes, apparently even brushes are not safe from my clumsiness. I am very much looking forward to testing the aged hair powder brush. I got those Mizuho cheek brushes with ebony handles, and that aged squirrel hair is as soft as my red squirrel. So hopefully this powder brush is equally as soft!
Lovely videos as usual. Do you have any chiense fude brushes? I must admit, I was very hesitant to purchase any brushes not from Japan, but I have recently invested in some from aliexpress and was pleasantly surprised on how good the quality is, especially with the snow fox hairs. If you have any, can you please make a video showing what you have? I would love to hear your thoughts 😊
