Lexi, wow that Zen brush collection is beautiful and looks so soft and luxurious!! I can almost feel how soft they are when you brush it over your hand. Those look like they would feel so nice to use on the face. You have such an amazing brush collection and a great knowledge on the brushes. I think in general, starting with an eyeshadow brush from a brand is a great way to see if you want to invest more in a line in the future. I try to add things like that when I need to reach free shipping. They are restocking at Fude Beauty in November.

I'm so glad you were able to get them! We have had cooler weather recently but today feels a lot warmer (rainy though right now). The next couple of days look nice and then it takes a dip. Fall is so short here! We basically go from warm to freezing in two weeks.
Hilarious!!!! Same here… crossing fingers for decent weather on Halloween 🎉 my daughter was planning on being a “dancer” but I suspect a coat would be required 😂 Oh well!!! It’s her thought that counts. Btw I LOVE the pointy brushes and enjoy them tremendously. I have more mature lids though and go for softer blended looks. No editorial or Pat McGrath style looks. So for me these brushes are a treasure! I have the Wayne Goss ones and the Surratt. From my perspective- glad to add this eye brush to my collection. Luv ya Lexi 😂❤

(and even providing several non-affiliated links - how generous of you!) I did not hesitate and I used your link to purchase 3, 4 and 5 from Fude Japan. I passed on the 2 (I know it’s your favorite), because it’s on the large size for me. Since my cheek area is smaller than yours, the 4 and 5 are better sizes for blush and highlighter on me. The 3 will be for the Guerlain Meteorites. I really hope the high level of quality of the original collection will be maintained in spite of Chikuhodo’s rush to produce more of these brushes... 🤞
Gorgeous brushes! I have to admit I’m not very disciplined about brush cleaning. I do put them aside for washing, but I have a way of waiting too long, and suddenly all of them are in my to-be-washed stack.🤦🏼♀️lol Good news ~ My three Jones Road eye shadows arrived today, so I was thrilled to see how you applied them for this soft and natural look. Ordered once from Fude Beauty, my package came from Japan if i remember correctly, so from a country so far away, it's expected taxes to be more high. But love Chikuhodo brushes!!! Thanks Annemarie! I know we are lucky here in the US and there are no extra taxes or fees to order from FudeBeauty (although I think if you get above a certain amount there are duties but I have never spent that much - that may have changed now as well).
Hello Lexi! I have this set but have not been able to wash and start using them. So beautiful and I love the feel of the soft fox hair. Perhaps I'll get brave and begin using them soon 🙂
Be brave! They actually feel more robust than you might expect and just remember that it keeps your brushes at their best to use them periodically (and wash them) so they don't become dehydrated. Try one to start and you will be hooked!
These brushes are simply stunning. I appreciate them for the craft behind it, and how beautiful they are with the natural handles. I’m so tempted on an art object level, but I couldn’t bring myself to use such lovely brushes. Too much OCD for me 😅 I feel safer with synthetics or a goat hair blend so I can get them grungy without worry. But oh, they are divine!
They are so nice to feel on the skin but I completely understand! It's hard to use your most precious brushes even though we should use the things we spend so much on. Lol.

I agree. Very helpful video! I think the new p-fo is going to be comparable to the FO as far as the quality of hair based on comparisons. I don’t have the FO series so I don’t know for sure but the hair color and texture kind of looks the same. I personally prefer the quality of hair in the zen series but the new P-fo is definitely unique to my collection as far as shape and function. Thank you for the video and the comparisons. ❤️ Edit: I watched your video till the end and you do say that the FO is going to be more airy which is another helpful information thank you!

I love the puff shape too but honestly I think the slightly fluffier version might be better for me with these bristles. The Zen series is restocking in November at Fude Beauty. They just posted on Instagram that they are creating a waitlist.
The brushes are SO beautiful & tempting! It’s a shame they seem to be out of stock on Fude Beauty & the Visage USA website doesn’t seem to be up at the moment- & that’s assuming those brushes would even be offered on that site….difficult to know. Oh well, one can dream!😊
I'm not sure what is going on with Visage but Chikuhodo now allows ordering directly from them and Fude Beauty just announced that they are restocking in November so you can sign up for notifications on their site.
I also got ze 1 and ze 3 and they are amazing!! I think they are softer then the fo series. Fo series feels closer to goat hair while the ze series are feels closer to squirrel hair. I did not get the eye blushes as they so big for me. 😂 I wonder if the pfo brush is softer then the ze series?
Hi Lexi - can I just say how beautiful your skin looks! Luminous and with a lovely sheen - amazing! Now, onto the video - really enjoyed this profile of the Zen series. I wonder if you have any ideas on a nice quality undyed goat hair brush that is the same size and shape - candle - as the ZE-5? I just read that silver fox hair is not recommended for cream products due to the delicate nature of the bristles and I had in mind something soft I might use to set under eyes after concealer application to set with loose powder. I am so allergy-prone and my under-eye is so sensitive that something soft and gentle would be very welcome. I currently have a goat hair brush that is not of great quality but has that pointed/candle shape. It is old and falling apart and a successor is needed! I need a brand/company that ships to the UK though. Your ideas have always been so helpful so any advice would be most welcome! Thank you for a great video - so much work goes into them and we do appreciate it 😊
Hakuhodo G5539 has a similar shape and same length bristles but doesn't come to such a sharp point as the ZE-5. Wayne Goss' edit 03 might also work but it about a third longer. Although I think that if you only intend on using this brush with powder and especially if you have sensitive skin go with the ZE-5, setting cream products such as concealer with it shouldn't damage it.
Kikilen really has some great suggestions. I would also like to add the Chikuhodo T-6 which is undyed goat hair. It does not have the same shape but the size is fairly similar and I think the shape works well for your purpose. It is also technically an eyeshadow brush.

Dear Lexi, thank you so much for the video. Totally brilliant. I would like to purchase the powder blush and not sure which one to choose. It’s between Chikuhodo Z 1 and fox Zen series ZE-2. I have Chikuhodo Z 8 love the softness and shape but use it predominantly for cheek blush application. Ideally I would Luke to purchase similar brush slightly bigger in terms of shape and softness. Which one would you recommend please? Z1 or ZE 2 please? Thank you so much

I have the KZ 2,4,7,and 8. CD-Japan canceled my order for the KZ-1 last year😭😭 Looking at ZE-1. Have Z-9 and some Hakuhodo powder brushes too.
