- Today we take a look around Bott Ltd Van Racking & Conversions HQ (Ashby), Ivanhoe Industrial Estate, 9 Tournament Way, Ashby-de-la-Zouch LE65 2UU.
We followed the public footpath which lead us all the way up to the security barrier.
Staff didn't like us being there and when the owner came out we decided to show him respect and move back to what he claimed to be his boundary.
Another member of staff comes in an attempt to restrict our freedom to film and fly from the public place.
The drone goes up and we are surprised at how many vehicles we see.

Imagine their reaction when they check the DJ Audit channel out and realise how much good, free publicity they could have had if they had not responded in this way.
From their point of view how many of DJ's 56k viewers are going to use their services? Still they should have behaved better.

As someone that has afew converted vehicles, I would have loved to see more of what they do. Such a shame Bott chose to handle free promotion in such a manner.

I’m so happy that I’m not the only one who was like ‘look how neatly those are all parked’ 😂 I obviously don’t get out much due to physical limitations, so I absolutely adore DJ’s and PJ’s audits as they show me stuff I can’t get out and see myself. Some ladies like shoes and handbags but I like hand tools and industry, so thanks for another enjoyable day trip 🤓😀

Free good advertisement turned out to be an embarrassment for the company due to the interaction with the senior staff. What a missed opportunity to show the public how professional they are.

So essentially DJ has just leaked the new design , could potentially put that contract at risk now for them as the company they are building for will want to use a company that is better at keeping certain designs under wraps !

The thing i like about these videos, is the footage. Think of buildings from the past that have been demolished, lost in history. This footage captures a window of time.

Luckily people were not paranoid in the 1890s when there were loads of films made of street scenes,factories etc including people. Now we have those movie pictures to look back on to see what things were like 130 years ago. The strange behaviour of these people is obviously a sign of these very odd times.

It's not strange to believe that it's illegal to film private property from the air. It is illegal to film private houses so it's not as strange as you're claiming. People understand that you are not allowed to enter private property without permission so it's reasonable to believe that you're not allowed to film into private property either. You would think the Police would know this and be able to tell people when complaining that no offence is taking place but the Police seem to know less about the law than everyone else. The Police just think they can say something's illegal and that makes it illegal.

I just can't get my head around some of these folk. And i know the company will be watching this video and the comments. So what makes you think you own land which has double yellow lines? The director knew fully well that he didn't own it or even paint those lines.
You have a woman who doesn't like being filmed and then insists you can't. But in the process proceeds to film.
What makes them think they own the airspace? Does every single bit of aircraft that goes over their premises, have to seek permission? Course not.
What makes them think they have the right whether they are recorded or not? You have no expectation of privacy in a public place.
I personally go around and film when on my bike with my Go-Pro. I can't count the number of people who end up on my recording. Should i stop and ask permission from each of them? Don't be daft.
Most of all, this company didn't display themselves to be that good.

All fantastic points. With all these videos, I'm very interested in the psychology of people and the directions that societies are heading in. From what I've seen on so many videos, the future doesn't look good...at least in the UK. There is a culture of defensiveness and fear. People are very tense, easy to offend and are very closed minded and ignorant. How does something so pervasive, ever get remedied? Well, I guess DJ Audits will have plenty of future content.

The owner lied on camera about the public access to the road which is breaking a legal covenant then committed assault on camera. Shows him to be a very shady character. This channel any moment will become the second most subscribed auditing channel after the legendary AB. All this since September, congrats.👏 Respect to all auditors exercising their rights against private companies and abusive police.👍

8:00 The right to take pictures from anywhere is covered under the human rights act article 8, which includes a right to participate in essential economic, social, cultural and leisure activities (hobbies). There is no right to not be photographed or filmed anywhere. Only if you have a reasonable expectation of privacy or more do have any comeback under the law and it's covered by voyeurism and stalking. And approaching a camera removes any expectation of privacy, no matter what is said about permission.
Some of these companies are really idiots you can film whatever you want from public land, they just make themselves look like idiots to the public - it’s a great thing you do DJ they need to learn
They are also missing out on the opportunity to generate some positive publicity about their business. This interaction could have gone so differently.

I work in a depot across the road from the local art college, so have always had students coming up taking pictures and videos for years, even before camera phones, not once has anyone had a problem with it, because its not a threat or an unusual thing to see, some people make a such drama over a phone 😂
How this company makes any profit,with these drones in charge,is a miracle.

Flexibility and humility is key for many situations. Its odd how a human being can be more mechanical in their way of approach to another then their own lifeless policies they seem to uphold so highly. A word cannot bend and yet being able to bend is essential for being strong and upright. Ridgity can create suffering, stagnation, negligance and prevent illuminating situations.
Complete transparency sheds light even in the darkest of places.
Poor Kev , he is obviously a bit of a control freak , and the company is his ‘baby’ this has him rattled.
Apart from going somewhat hands on, he seemed like a nice enough guy, just a bit uneducated about HIS rights, and the rights of other’s. ( not to mention his misunderstanding of HIS obligations to public access to that land that he insisted you leave . )
I think Kevin, will want to read his deeds , he will want to research public photography, and possibly for sure he should look up the legal position on Drones.
Interesting company though, as the owner , he could have given so much more to publicise his company, and if he had been a bit more professional ( like his employee was getting towards) then this could have been a Win Win situation.

It's kinda disappointing that despite you presenting as polite, articulate and willing to explain, they want details of you, but won't reply in kind. I mean, personally I find when introducing myself to strangers, be direct, hello, I'm "Kevin", I'm the company director, manager or whatever and at least listen to what the other party has to say, before trying to chase them. I do agree that both this company and others should/could be a little more professional, but if you had created something such as Kevin has (the owner), you would see it as your baby and some strange bloke with a camera isnt a daily occurrence, ie it would catch you off-guard.

Kevin's elder brother is prominent in the international group management, and Kevin gets to run the Ashby plant which is their van conversions UK hub. Kevin doesn't own it, and has a vastly exaggerated sense of entitlement. There are 1.5m shares in the UK company and they're all owned by the German Bott Internationale Holding GmbH.

I had a company fleet vehicle(Transit connect) that had been racked by Bott, they wasted so much space and it was completely made from steel!
I will put my phone up to my face, I will put up an A4 sheet of paper and thirdly he puts his hand up trying to stop videoing. A complete and utter overreaction to a perfectly legal activity.
It is sometimes the case that planning permission is given to surround what was once a public highway and that highway is sold to the company. However, because it may have been a previous right of way, as most highways are, then they have to maintain that right of way. You get that where a shopping complex is built across a pre-existing road that is then paved over for pedestrians. The right of way still exists.
I wouldn’t want to work for these muppets especially those two women with hormone problems and a very obnoxious director “Keven”. What a shame because it looks like they do a great job but they missed the opportunity to promote their business. Nice job DJ 👍
Kevin left his premises to go out into the public and assault a member of public (Section 39 of Criminal Justice Act 1989) who was exercising the right to engage in lawful activity in a public place. Kevin needs to seek legal advice as he may shortly find the Police turning up at his place of work to arrest and charge him with assault.

I can see why you would say that. However, think about how one Googles a business and this pops up. If this gets more clicks than the business itself, I can imagine this video will pretty much be stuck under their own site according to Google's algorithm thingy. Any business lost due to bad publicity is bad for business period

From a security point of view I understand why they're upset but it's a shame they were hostile. Even if nobody came out and talked to you that company looked badass from the sky. The shot of all those vans parked up was great. If I owned that company I would've liked that for a wall in the office.

That could have been a great and interesting visit. It was ruined by the Staff of that company. In Public you have no rights of privacy and you do not own the Air Space Botts. The Airspace is controlled by the CAA. The Karens' from the building at the gate were just an absolute shame. They displayed the poor level of education held by the vast majority of the public in the UK and a blatant ignorance to the opportunity to expanding their knowledge. And as for the Bald chap, oh my god an absolute whiney little girl. Often companies welcome DJ with open arms or just leave him alone to do his Lawful Business of the Land and we watch those videos and praise those companies. Your Company today was just totally unprofessional and the majority of staff filmed showed themselves to be dimmer than a 3W bulb in a blackout. This was a real shame as you all could of portrayed yourselves very differently.
