Everyone in this comment section is talking about the alt voices, but can we all appreciate the new spell animations? These seriously look so good.
PPT1 reused a lot of spell animations for different spells, but this game gave every spell a great looking animation.
Since On-Screen animations in a Tetris match would be awful, they made it so the animations happen in a box in the background. I actually prefer this over the usual animation style, but this game actually did something incredible with this concept and made excellent looking animations that make viewing the match much more exciting. Making the 4th and 5th spell animations in big and in the background was an excellent choice, since that allows them to be more statisfying to get, complex and, well, beautiful!
I appreciate that you left enough space for the animations to finish :)
I would of just done a 7 chain and called it a day (would of saved me a lot of time) but I realized they cut off way too soon for 4th animation. I still have the first 3 animations being cut off though, so there is definitely room for improvement if I had more time.

Just assume it's both that and Dark Arle because we don't have an answer to those questions, however since this is specifically for the English Alt voice it is my belief that it leans towards an impression of her fever voice.
Why? Because Fever was released in the West and we never saw Dark Arle since we never got Puyo Puyo 7 and, let's assume that people have only been following this game since Fever and didn't follow any of the Japanese titles.
Makes more sense for it to be the Fever version of Arle right? Right, I agree with you but people probably won't stop arguing about it unless we get a real answer.
1. I sure as fuck don't. Sure, it referenced Red Amitie, but I honestly prefer the Purple Sister reference in her tone. ICYDK, Purple Sister, also known as Nepgear from Hyperdimension Neptunia, is one of Cabanos's voice talents.
2. I think it references either Sega's Dark Arle (Arle possessed by Ecolo) or the evil clone that Compile created (Doppelgänger Arle).

With Sig's new alt voice you can kinda tell that him and Lemres share the same English VA which is neat imo (I still wish we got Shigu Shigu alt voice tho...)

This dub really tears at me. On the one hand, I really, really enjoy some of the completely new alt voices. Standouts being TexEss, KlUwUg, Reverse Ecolo, and Bri'ish Ai.
On the other hand, the blatant reuse and absolutely bizarre splicing of voice clips is a massive mark against it.
This is one of the most polarizing dubs I've seen in a while, it feels really lazy that they just reused so many voice clips which creates a jarring juxtaposition between the new lines and reused ones, but the performances for when they do use new clips are great, but I do think the original game is better simply because it didn't reuse voice clips
Also, reversing the footage to show Ecolo's reversed dialogue scares me, Tetraminos aren't supposed to reappear at the bottom like that!

I feel like there's an explanation to the terribly rushed redub work, but it's kind of a dumb excuse. In the online lobby, every greeting has the quote be fully voiced, and doing that for at least.... (28×5 eqauls to... !!) 140 voices! Yeah, it kinda might take a toll on the redub team's budget. I still think that's a lame excuse (especially for what they did to ALT Draco) but yeah...

For whatever reason a good majority of the spells are reused from PPT1 and is apparently intentional, even though some alt voices clearly have a different voice direction.

wow Zed's old voice clips do not mesh with the new ones. Why didn't they just record new clips for everything?
Same for Draco Centauri’s alt voice. Also, why are all of Ecolo’s alt lines played in reverse? That wasn’t how they were last game. And Feli’s alt says, “Is it happening?” instead of, “It’s coming!”, and her Tetris line is delayed.

I really liked Amitie’s British alt, and now hers is almost as disappointed-sounding as Maguro’s is now, for no reason. If Ringo is gonna quote other characters, she should at least say the lines in her Alt voice from the first game, in my opinion.
@@mikisaihara2659 My favorite from PPT1 had to be Sig’s alt, not just because he sounded way more determined than in his regular voice, but also because it better matched how I sounded. The alts I’m happiest to see changed between PPT1 and 2 would have to be Ecolo’s (because while it was fine just having his slightly annoying in-battle lines be spoken much faster, having them play in reverse reminds me SO much of YTP videos) and Ringo’s (because her higher pitch from the first game can actually get a bit annoying) Sig’s tied with Amitie for the alts I’m most disappointed to see changed. We went from “CELADON!!” (anime shout) and “Jolly Good!” to virtually the same as the default voices.

Maguro's "Big Whoa energy" as I like to call it where he goes "Whoa", and two of his spells: "Lightning Drop" and "Repeat Moon Circle"

@@kellyscorner1319 lol I recognized Xander Mobus when my brother started telling me about voice actors. Plus Arle is voiced by Erica Mendez which is also the voice of Bernadetta from Fire Emblem 3 Houses. I love Erica Mendez. Alot of the Voice Actors of this game also voice Persona 5 characters.

Why? Are the voices shifting?
Voice clips are being reused from PPT1, *except* the repeater lines, which are brand new. Weird thing is that some alts are brand new, but some of them are also reused?? Like, it sounds like Draco's VA was doing improv for her new alt, but they decided to cut it last second, so now you have the new lines meant for a brand new alt voice, and the old lines of the old alt, which ends up sounding like Draco's constantly changing her tone of voice.
They changed Witch's alt voice from PPT1?????
