- Dave Matthews Band performs "Ants Marching" at the Farm Aid concert in Louisville, Kentucky on October 1st, 1995. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

This is a beautiful song....always the fiddle that really gets me though. Sooo soulful. Plus the lyrics are relevant to the way humans in this world operate for the most part.

Ikr, I've been listening to a lot of mid 90s DMB, their sound was a lot more organic back then.

I was just dreaming that I was singing this song. Once I awoke, I threw on jeans and a pajama shirt, made some coffee, and searched for a video of it (because it's still in my head from the dream.) I'm thrilled to see that I'm dressed appropriately, and that, coincidentally, this particular video was filmed in the town where I grew up, and I was probably nearby on 10/1/95! Not only that, but I'd also been dreaming I was in Louisville (more of a nightmare that I'm stuck there, but I digress...)
