  • One of the benefits of social media is that it provides endless avenues to explore the world and connect with people. But it can also foster unbridled vanity. In this session, Nathan W. Bingham will discuss the value of social media and the problem of narcissism.

Thank you for this great and wise information, Nathan. I haven't been myself in the past few years and have regretting posting many things, but intentions to connect with other believers thru experience, my heart and love for our Lord is always first in considering. I just didn't measure twice. I think I've gone off a few times because I've never been angry before in my life and felt it was justified to tell truth, but I was wrong if I hurt anyone. Reaching out for prayer is one thing, trying to share what God did in my life earlier and now just by breathing is such a gift to us all is another thing, but hashing out harshness is a totally different thing. Ashamed of that part. Thank you again for the reminder. I've signed off Twitter for a few days because of seeing these very things and considering my emotions I thought it'd be best. God bless you. I hope Dr Sproul is doing well. He's one good fighter for God's truth and I love him!. Blessings.

Lynn growing up in a social media world as opposed to growing up in the 80s and 90s is so much more crippling to a teenagers self esteem in this digital world where there is so much pressure to look your best or you get bullied or picked on to the point where you turn to plastic surgery or other measures to make it stop.
      Ignorance was bliss.

I'm disgusted by the explosion of "selfies". I always saw it as an example of how narcissistic our culture has become. I rarely take those kids of pictures and never for self promotion let alone post them. It probably helps that I'm an ugly man and aware of it. What about all the other "ugglies"? It's amazing how deceived people are, thinking the world really wants to stare at them worshipping themselves.
