      I can't take credit for the idea. I found it on a forum. I try to reaserch everything I do to come up with a good plan. Thanks for supporting my channel.

    You’re the only person I’ve seen that used a flap disc to smooth the edges on that tote. Everyone else just uses a regular disc grinder.

    First!! Hi Roger! A lot of guys I’ve seen use the bladders as covers like you did but I’ve found it’s not necessary and in fact the ones I covered using a similar method as you did, developed mold on the wood. So I no longer use them as covers. What I have done instead, is cut the bladders in half and affix each half to a pallet for easy mobility with a tractor and forks and fill them with cookies/cut offs/less desirables. I drill holes on the bottom of the bladders with a paddle bit or hole saw so rain water will drain out. Market that stuff as boiler wood and it will sell as soon as you get your first cold snap. Keep us updated!

      Thanks, I will keep a watch on them incase they mold. I may need to a take a hole saw to the other end that isn't cut for air flow. I have some totes that I just cut the top out of. I drilled some holes in them with a hole saw and I throuw the uglys and shorts in them. I also took a tote and cut it off short. I screwed it to a pallet. I hold 1/10 of a cord. I'm trying to sell a small quantity but it hasn't worked yet. Some guys on facebook have good luck doing this.

      @@TractorTech presentation and making sure it’s dry is everything. Small quantities will sell. Stick with it. Don’t give up on it!

      @@KNLFirewood I'm not going to. I'm hoping to sell less wood for more money. I want to expand that side of things.

    Nice idea, Roger. I have an IBC tote and use it for my pressure washer water storage. I had to modify a small motor to power the water pump but it's definitely come in handy. Enjoyed the firewood stacking and storage idea. So how many IBC totes do you need to store a cord of wood? 👍🏽🤠 1/15/23

      Thanks Don. It wasn't really my idea, just my twist on it. I have a couple that I am keeping for water for the garden. They are food grade totes. The 275 totes hold 1/4 cord stacked to the top. With my roof I'm getting a bit more. The larger 330 totes hold 1/3 cord level to the top. I have 1 330 tote and I use it in the basement to keep wood in. Totes are really hard to come by here.

    How much are those costing you ? I have asked a few places they had them and couldn't bring myself to buy them

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před rokem

      Most of them are free and the guy brings them here. I bought 6 for $10 each and maybe 4 for $20. They usually go for $100+ here which is insane.

      @@TractorTech well that's a good deal. I have seen or been offered them for $20-25 but just didn't want to pay that. I don't really have a way to move them unless Ibuy a three point pallet fork for the tractor and then I probably can't even pick one up green and the way my set up it I won't gain much with them. I keep thinking I could use one for something but can't figure a use. I have been told I could have one free , from a buddy. But I don't have a use for it so it would just be sitting around. I thought about uglies and chunks but I never have more than I can throw up on top of my stacks so that wouldn't help either .

      @@natevanlandingham1945 $25 is top dollar for 275gal tote. I need to find another 30 or 40. 3 point hitch forks are a good attachment to have but idk if your tractor would lift a tote.

    Where do you find the ibc totes and for how much?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  Před rokem

      Most of them are delivered to me for free. That is all about to come to end. They are very hard to find here. Most people are selling them for over $100. I have bought a few for $10-20. Those came from a salvage yard and craiglist. I need about 30 or 40 more for myself.
