I like it; especially that you're reusing those supports. What do you do to cover the top? My wife found your video as we have two totes and heat 100% with wood. Want to make one up for by the cabin, but need a top to protect it from snow, etc. Wood is stored covered in a wood shed/rick, until it's moved to the house. Any input is appreciated!
Great idea on the upper supports. I cut the top 4 rows out leave 2 on the bottom its been working great for me. Here it Michigan you pay for these totes from $25.00 to $60.00 and you pick them up.
I only use the upper supports because why not they come with the crate also I am not sure how big your crates are we seem to get 2 sizes here the only difference is the height people know how good they are for firewood that why they scalp you for them thanks for the comment I appreciate the feedback
The next question, is: how to deliver totes to the customer without manually handling all the firewood again: //czcams.com/video/JnDIRLLmPPo/video.html //czcams.com/video/kWh73MbE7go/video.html In the interest of reducing the # of manual touches of firewood for everyone, the above method seems to be the best. It isnt cheap, and forces the customer to pay ~$30 (for the tote) and maybe $100 for the wood, for having the tote placed into their garage, with no further piling and mess. The next time they need another refill, you just deliver another full tote, and take back their empty tote, and charge them $100 for just the wood, since they already paid for the tote!

THANKS FOR THE VIDEO ! AWESOME !
What do you do with the bladder portion. Some of them around these parts contain mulch dye. Not sure how I’d dispose of the bladder.
You need to put the guard back on those slitting disc can do damage when they break up and fly off in bits
Around here they treat these crates like they are gold, I still look for them
Agreed they are so useful
Just curious, what is the easiest way to get the firewood out of the tote?
How much do they weigh when you get them with the plastic tank and the cage?
What do you do with the plastic inserts
Cut them up most times
those are 330 gal totes
Thanks didn't know the size
