- In this video, Mr Wilbert, Shane and I were sent to recover a loaded truck and trailer that had its trailer axle completely in the ditch. We had to lift the trailer up with the V100 and slide the trailer as far as we could to the wrecker. We took our Peterbilt 30 ton and held the trailer while the V100 repositioned for the final lift. Thanks for watching, don’t forget to LIKE, COMMENT, SUBSCRIBE, and SHARE this video!

Mr Raymond yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Power lines where pretty closes. Great job Hal and crew.
Mr Brian yes sir it was. Thanks for watching and stay safe
hello brian
how are you doing
Nice recovery as usual. It probably just me but what cracks me up is when I see folks driving the mid to large SUVs taking a wide turn. Nothing wrong with feeling safer I guess.
Mr Will thanks for watching and stay safe
I pull a fourty one foot fifth wheel RV. Nothin wrong with turning wide. Beats new Aluminum rims and a set of tires when they come into contact with curbs. Lol. Or worse yet just driving it into a ditch or telephone pole.
@@lloydholt6511 That I get, but I just don't get swinging out simply with an SUV...nothing attached.
@@willb3018 I've watched people with friggin Toyotas making a wide swing to make a turn, crossing the centerline to make a right turn. What would these idiots do if they had to drive a real truck??😆
Thank you for the video , Ditches aren't your friend

I am a retired truck driver and in all my 42 years have seen a lot but this is crazy. Great job guys stay safe God Bless.
Mr Russell yes sir it was. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Video from a camera permanently installed there, like that famous extra low can-opener bridge, could sell this driver's episode on pay per view. Must have been real interesting to see him, not only going in, but burying it trying to get out by the way his wheels were pointed.
Accidents happen but cannot understand how the driver seems so uninterested in what happens, but on the otherside you know where you have him.Like how you and your men make the job done.Thank you.

Is great job time For a new and better truck the expensive one Mr. Wilbur needs to put a hat on needsIs to put a hat on hes a totally different man without a hat lol

@@jennifersmith842 Doing well. How are you ?
Except for future business. If that place put up a sign just off edge. “swing wide, it’s a xxx trailer”. (Stolen from bonehead truckers). Or put longer culvert, dirt wider edge. Cost less then 2 recoveries. If his tandems were back he could claim he forgot to slide them ahead… If no DOT bar do you think he might have pulled thru? Was unloading from spot considered?
I was thinking he could then lift at full extension, retract onto tar. Dang power line makes it fun.
Was at one dropped trailer in ditch, grain truck, ripped off one hopper, tractor on RR track. They got train stopped.

Nice recovery when I was training local drivers for LTL I couldn't stress enough about swinging wide and trailer tail swing especially night time or early morning delivery when they couldn't see as well it never hurts to throw on the flashers and take a peek to keep from being in the ditch

Made deliveries as this. Complained to our bosses, they said if causing problems as this. Take it to seller, let them deliver. Sales folk told buyers yes drivers will deliver. Worked for Ag. Company. Had to drive down roads dirt with canals on both sides or over plowed fields. Getting stuck, tearing up bumpers, lights. Company backed us. Take to store , let them use 10 wheelers to deliver, wow fussed. Saved our tractors. They don't give those things away. In 80s retired. 🐻👍

Look at the asphalt. It looks like he ain't the first one. Maybe the business owners, county or state should do something about widening the apron out?
None of my bus. but when a driver does something like that and then you have to get him out of the sleeper to get him to do something it makes you wonder. Great job as usual.
Mr Doak thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Driver makes a mistake, it happens. While they work to help him he just hangs out in the sleeper. I bet it happens again to him.
Mr KO Yes sir but I hope it doesn't. Thanks for watching and stay safe
That is what usually happens cause the generally the company they work for doesn't want a injury risk and the issue of the person running the wrecker has insurance liability to deal with as well. Having someone messing with stuff they have no idea what they are doing is never a good idea. Better to keep them out of the way and let the professional do their job.
@@arbiter1 there is keeping out of the way at a safe distance and staying in a sleeper while a vehicle is being lifted. I would be on the sidelines where I can hear if someone screams there is a issue. As a heavy equipment mechanic I have no been to many winch outs and even had graders, dozers and other items in a ditch. It’s not hard to stay out of the way, safer on the sidelines then is the vehicle hooked up. I have also been in the seat as loaders were un righted due the the boom in the up position and a person needed to be in the seat to control the boom.
I broke down once and took a nap while the professionals worked. I wasn’t going to watch them and then drive tired.
I never seen a trailer with all the tandem in a ditch
Mr Steven Me either. Thanks for watching and stay safe

Excellent job you guy's. I would have to say a Tator would have been nice for this job but you and your guy's have the experience needed to do this job with out a Rotator. I seen those power lines in your way as always. Great team work guy's. No wonder he misses making a turn.
Good "out" on this one.

I was wondering that. I would be really embarrassed if I did that. But I would put my reflective vest on, be there. (Of course step back, move to suggested location during recovery if asked. ). He seemed to be in sleeper….

1st rule of recovery, the sticker is the digger... I aint diggin it out the driver did it he can dig...lol.. Great job on the recovery, I agree with the 5/8 chain if he was carrying a full 40k.
Mr Waltjam I like that saying. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I have seen everyone else put the chains on the outside of the DOT bar !!!!
Mr Peter I like the chain closest to the wrecker on the inside when possible. That way it pulls against the Dot bar. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I wonder what the company that owns the truck will say to the driver when they get your bill for getting him out of the ditch. I know what my previous boss would have said and believe me it ain't good. Looks like the guy had plenty of room. The really scary part is the road is full of those drivers. Not passing judgement on anybody but really?...

Go figure, your ARC NEMESIS is right above your extended boom.
Mr Drew6709 yes sir. Thanks for watching and stay safe
Overall nice recovery but poor placement took more time and equipment than necessary. 3 years in fire service I have seen good tow operators (lots) and not so good to downright bad (far fewer) but those we reminisce about for years. Like one operator who loaded a rolled over VW onto a rollback without bothering to turn it back onto it's wheels. He dragged it on, tied it down and drove away. Granted it was 3 AM in the country but.....
Mr G R thanks for watching. I also have 33 years and counting in the fire service (full time for The City of Sumter) Thanks for commenting and stay safe
If u didnt have the older truck there u wouldve needed alot of cribbing , U guys got it out quick ..
Mr Mike yes sir we have. Thanks for watching and stay safe
@@SumterWrecker also might want to tell Wilbert to Sshhhh bout fixxing the money the money pit , lol
All of the asphalt damage, maybe that ought to make a point the driveway entrance needs to be a bit wider. But then the asphalt would be just as messed up in the new spot as is now.
Drew6709 thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
Dont be giving the driver grief, we all make mistakes.
Mr John yes sir we do. Thanks for watching and stay safe
I’m all for better safe than sorry Hal but for next time remember if you’re using 2 chain legs then each chain only has 10 on it so even if one side take a little more than the other when the lift starts you won’t exceed the 15000 on your half inch
So you would still be safe without having to bust out the really big boys
MR Bam thanks for tip and thank you for watching. Stay safe out there
You’re welcome EVERYONE always forgets that part it’s the same as with a snatch block your two chains is two lines on the load so each chain has half of the total weight
The people who engineer loading and drop off sites almost never think of big semis with 53 foot trailers. Usually they just think of those Small little FedEx trucks. They also pick very bad spots to put dumpsters where garbage truck drivers just can’t get to them.
N E Wisconsin that is a true statement. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
@@SumterWrecker No problem.
The massive scrapes tell you this driveway isn’t wide enough. So not entirely all the driver’s fault here.
Mr John thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe
That driver shit the bed with that turn, there’s just no explanation for that
B Lauer thanks for watching and stay safe
It was a tight turn. He should have drive into the other lane to make it. You have to analyze the turn prior to turning down it. If the middle of the trailer crosses path the ditch, you are going ...in the ditch.
