    So, about this mess, this is what happened from official documents: the reason is the fracture of the SHR insulator during disconnection due to freezing of the knife in the sponges and aging of the porcelain. We made an extra effort and it fell apart.. DZT and MTZ worked immediately, but the switching device did not work on disconnection due to a defect in the output relay 2RP, a factory defect in soldering the coil.

      @@ekaneev111 Согласно оф.документа причина излом изолятора ШР при отключении по причине замерзания ножа в губках и старения фарфора. Приложили дополнительное усилие и оно развалилось.. ДЗТ и МТЗ сработала сразу, но коммутационный аппарат не сработал на отключение изза дефекта выходного реле 2РП, заводской дефект пайки катушки.

    This is hands down the best and most fitting half-life sfx edit. Love the little details eapecially the loading time cut offs, spray writing and ofc the convolutional environment reverb. That line when the goon says something and the protagonist turns around and you hear the line gets lowered and sounds like it's in another room. Pure art this SFX editing meme xdddd

      Same with cars, they usually just get engulfed in fire whenever the fuel tank gets damaged, but I've seen a video of one violently and loudly exploding by a curb. (no body was killed as far as I know, some probably just got some burns)

    An electrical fire without the electric is no longer an ''electrical fire'', so it is ok to throw water/snow at it.
    The fact that some people think these trained people were just throwing snow at an electrical fire makes me lose faith in humanity even further. They were communicating, hes clearly holding a radio on his hand. He knew the power was off, so he had to do something to help the ease the fire before it spreaded and dealt damage to other equipment.

    Nothing near what these guys had to deal with , but I was standing on a platform at work when a power feed to a huge electric motor decided to short and arc all over the place , right next to my Forman and I.
    I am glad for PPe, the insulated boots and gloves could have saved our lives, we don’t know.

      @@Elfcheg Никто. Износ оборудования. Ну и качество комплектующих оставляет желать лучшего, раз в неблагоприятных условиях они так быстро изнашиваются. Возможно микротрещины в изоляторах были изначально.

      Usually i think you'd just wait for the fire to burn itself out. Usually fire departments in the area of a transmission station have a rough idea of how to deal with an electrical fire. I'm sure there might be something you can find on google about it since it's probably a pretty common occupation.

      Someone said that throwing snow on it helps. I'm assuming that the electrical fire isn't hot enough to melt the snow near-instantly, and since the snow is like a lump of playdoh when not melted, it could be used to choke the fire.

      @@mymouthisbleeding I think the power had been disconnected before they started throwing snow (hence why it was no longer exploding), so I think that was just to cool it to not damage the neighboring equipment.
