Which bowie do you have or want? :)
...ordered the new Lynn Thompson edition of the Leatherneck Bowie...
All of them!
I just saw an amazing destruction test on the Marauder, I'm still not a Bowie sort of guy but it was impressive.
I pre-ordered the Laredo in whatever the budget steel is! Have you heard anything on the timing for their release?
@@carlnewcastle2039 No. I'm waiting too.
Hi Mr Slash. It's definitely a fighting knife , if I spent the money on one my wife would be fighting me for an infinite amount of time. It's really cool and I will enjoy it through your videos. Thanks
Cold steel is dropping the same blade but in 4034 instead of 3V for under half the price
@@sirgianthammer4717 Thanks I don't mind 4034 . I have been edc'ing a Range Boss for a year and a half now or at least 72% of the time in the last year and a half anyway. Thanks.
@@steellovingyou8673 I ain’t tried the 4034 yet, is it pretty corrosive or does it have a decent amount of resistance?
@@sirgianthammer4717 I have carried the Range Boss 72% of the time for the last year and a half and the blade itself still looks perfect , it's not that sharp any more but is still workable , I haven't abused it but I do use it , mostly opening packages , cutting zip ties , plastic packages , paracord and card board. I do know how to sharpen quite well and strop but haven't felt the need yet . You may have noticed in my other comments how much I love this Range Boss for my EDC , I strongly recommend it .
@@sirgianthammer4717 anyhow many days this summer and last I get home and my shorts are damp with sweat and most days when it's raining , like yesterday I get home and my shorts or pants are wet but I haven't had any signs of corrosion. I would not hesitate to work with my Range Boss around undesirable conditions. Have a Great morning
Oh man, I’ve been needing a Natchez Bowie for years now!
Yes! Me too! Cool to have you comment. :)
Had mine 5 weeks now its been along bloody wait but worth it just now waiting for the Laredo bowie and the bark river shining mountain bowie good health lad from across the pond
That's a nice fighting Bowie man! That wood plank was blindsided when you said you weren't testing the knife. 🤣
I had to sneak up on it. :)
Oh , no question , the trailblazer would be awesome ! But the recon scout bowie looks perfect !
I bought one of the cheaper Natchez models in 4034 for a bit over $150 and love it.
The blade came sharp enough to shave muh ballsack!
That's sharp. 😆
It’s definitely a cool knife. It’s not my style but I do appreciate how well it represents the old school bowie configuration.
I've never been a big Bowie fan, but I do like this one and I like Major Tom.
Freaking awesome brother 🤘🇺🇸
Thank you!
I think we all can agree that having bumps in the right places is a good thing 😎.
We old-timers know things. :)
Thanks for the review. I've had this in my cart at two different stores since it come out. I finally pulled the trigger and have one on the way. I was hoping that they would have brought out the 3V Trailmaster first. Since they already have the Recon Scout, but hopefully that will be coming in the near future. Thanks again and have a great day.
I'm definitely excited about the Trailmaster. Thank you. You have a great day! :)
I have a 3V Natchez as well. It's a fantastic and impressive blade! The handle is G-10.
I'm going to get the 3V Laredo as well.
😍
I have the Cold Steel Wild West Bowie, along with a bunch of other Bowie's. That one looks great.
Oh, that Wild West Bowie looks really cool.
I think I’d prefer the Recon Scout...
Seems a little too unwieldy and I’d probably enjoy and use the Recon Scout more. If I lived in a place where knife fighting was actually a serious thing - I’m not gonna be carrying a knife, even a badass one like this, in the hopes that I’d be on par with an attacker, or even marginally better. I’d find something else to carry, something that would crank it up to an 11.
Or maybe the Trailmaster
The Recon Scout is awesome. Yeah, I would not want to be reliant on my knife skills in a world that relied on knife skills.
You were great at the rep weekend at SMKW, a big thanks for all yalls help and hard work. I worked with you and your wife at the Cold Steel counter.
We had a blast being there. Thank you for having us.
That is a really cool and big bowie and if i was going to get one I would get one of those
The cool thing about the Natchez Bowie is that you can do damage even without the edge.
CS's design is a well thought out " M F er " , of elements borrowed from other examples of the Golden past , that can & will deliver the goods , when down & dirty is called for !!!
You had an excellent idea for a future video should you decide to do so...... This Bowie should not be able to compete head to head with your competition chopper....but...after putting a good edge on both...would it compare as expected or exceed your expectations???? 🤔
Oh, that is a cool idea.
That is right buddy you show that wood who is the boss!
...besides cutting the 'Christmas Turkey' I'm pretty sure you could harvest the family 'Christmas Tree' also... 🤣
Lol, probably so. :)
Great looking fighting Bowie, love these big beauties from Cold Steel. Thanks for the look see and keep making sharp things fun and enjoyable
"Wont be testin cuz it's too expensive" LMAO!! KILLER BLADE&KILLER VID KNIFE BRO!!
:) Thank you.
Man, shaking that bowie upside town really took the breath out of you.
Love the western Bowie, it looks awesome but isn’t it made in India, always worry about QC.
He is right. You won't be sorry you bought. Yoooooooo, I'm watching right now and the chopping started! Yoooo. Freaked me out! Hahahaha
😁 Thank you for watching.
Oh yeah, your Nachez is better than mine cause I don't have one (yet) cause, I'm saving up for my JIMI SLASH CHOPPA!!! Seriously... :)
Love my Natchez
I have the 3V version as well! 🤣
The original handle material was G10 ,and look like that but it would not feel rubbery in any way ,
good to see that back up and rolling because it's been a few years now
This version has a G-10 handle too.
@@ericsierra-franco7802
Micarta handle material, still good though 👊
Yup, not testing is certainly the way! Thanks...
I'm not sure if this is still the case , Cold Steel uses a cable tang on the Natchez and Laredo bowies . if this is still the way they make them , chopping with it is a bad idea . for a fighting knife it is fine ...I guess.. id prefer not to get in a knife or any other type of fight..
it is a beast , and they may have made it full tang, I don't know for sure , but I would find out before any hard use.
ahhhhh too late huh ?
Patiently waiting for the Lynn Thompson Leatherneck Bowie review. 😎
Just bought one Midway USA for $210
Midway cost me a bunch today. :) Nice deal!
Think this thing would survive "end of the world" camp tasks? General hard camp use such as emergency wood work? I know its silly considering that with a $600 dollar knife of course, but what if?
It might hold up to that type of use, but I would rather have the Trailmaster for that.
@@Jimislash what steel would you recommend? I think I seen it in two options unless I'm misreading stuff.
@@Slay_No_More If you are going to use it a lot, go with the 3V. If it will just be occasionally used, you don't need the 3V.
@@Jimislash Is "SAN MAI III" what people call 3V?
Hey Man you can use this Bowie to cut up some mean Hog bbq or Brisket depending where your at…
Brisket. :) Soon.
It definitely looks awesome! And preforms well too. Great video 👍
Thank you! :)
"Go out and beat the mess out of it." This is the way.
:)
I head that this knife was ground pretty thin at the edge. Has anyone taken measurements?
...I'd like to sharpen the false edge...like the new intro, my friend...
Thank you! Yes, I might try that.
Did Cold Steel change up the country of manufacture on these? I see BladeHQ and KnifeCenter showing the 3V version as made in Taiwan while the one I ordered recently from another vendor is Italian made.
The older ones were Italian, I believe. Mine, which is newer, is from Taiwan.
That’s an awesome beast!
Somewhere there is a hobo, currently hiding, knowing this Bowie is in your hands lol.
He's smart. :)
Hey Jimi, the new pics of the 3V Natchez on both the CS website as well as third parties, the guard and pommel have a darker color to them compared to the 4034. I was wondering if that's actually the case with the knife I'll receive. Thought you might know if there was a change. Thanks.
I think I have both, but I need to check.
I actually like my maurader better in hand and with the price and a cold winter with all this inflation coming Im passing .That is a really nice knife tho.
The Marauder is awesome!
@@Jimislash Seems like it out of production, the Maurader.
If you have to choose one knife for fighting what do you prefer between natchez bowie for gurkha kukri?
Kukri. I'm not a trained knife fighter, so the extra sharpened edge of the bowie isn't going to help me much, but the hacking and slashing power of the kukri is going to lay waste to anything in its way.
@@Jimislash choose well!!
NATCHEZ , LAREDO bad sleeve
Get the Butterknife Out!
I want a Laredo or tm in 3v
That’s the whole point get it lol to have fun with your big knife 🔪
Ok, I’ll apologize in advance. I absolutely love Cold Steel, but the Natchez and Laredo Bowie knives look like kitchen knives on steroids. Again, sorry. Maybe I just need to hold one. I love my leatherneck bowie.
They're not. :)
That's a beautiful blade
It's awesome!
That is sweet blade!
It is! :)
"...do something FUN with this knife..." cutting up cardboard hobos or those attack briskets...
Cable tang? or full tang?.
Cable.
My laser aint as sharp
Really a shame that a knife like this comes with that cheap toy sheat. I hate those sheats, love the knives. But a sheat made of glass filled nylon, dulls the knife, scratches the knife and looks really ugly, not good. It should have a classic sheat
where is it made in and is it a full Tang
Made in Taiwan. Cable tang.
@@Jimislash bummer
Could i use it as a kitchen/bbq knife lol please give me an excuse
This will make you baddest bbq'er out there. :)
5:08 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😂
Awesome review dude I’m saving up right now for this Bowie!😎🤟
not better then my ESEE junglas. I've broken lots of cold steel not a single ESEE knife I've used broke yet.
What is the Cost of this monstrum
$400
That not bad tbh, the Xl Espada Costs over 500 Dollars in Denmark and so does the 3V Magnum Tanto. I think 400 is a very fair prices, thats almost in the realm of what i gave for my sanmai Magnum Tanto.
Thanks for not showing, describing, sharing, testing, or demonstrating that oh so B.A. Blade.
:) It was my pleasure.
VG1 SAN MAI III
You crack me up! Funny as fak
:) Thank you.
Dear Mr. Jimislash, Sir, if you would gift me your Cold Steel 3V Natchez Bowie, the world would be a much better place 😀
The whole world?
Cold steel have lost the plot on there pricing, you can buy an equivalent knife from bark river, with the same steel and better materials that’s hand finished for half the price of that knife, and bark river have a reputation of being expensive, go figure.
I haven't been able to find the 12" Bark River blade in 3V for half the price of this knife. I looked.
