Not going to lie in more recent games the bug types have gotten better with typing, move pool, and design. Glad the bug types are getting some more attention.

Fun fact for your next run: After 6 badges you can buy mints at the chansey supply shop so you can change Rabsca’s nature to Modest or better yet, Quiet since its plus special attack and minus speed

Masquerain has intimidate based on it’s Gen 3 dex entries: “Masquerain’s antennas have eyelike patterns that usually give it an angry look.” (Sapphire) “Masquerain intimidates enemies with the eyelike patterns on its antennas.” (Ruby)

@@Herofan42few words: trade while scyther has the metal coat. That's the only way Scyther evolves, excluding legends Arceus where they added link cables but unfortunately did not add in Scarlet and Violet for whatever reason

Awesome run, this is the first time I've ever seen a Masquerain sweep before and Forretress put in so much work, was definitely my favorite pokemon on your team.
My favorite Bug type has to be Volcarona though, it just looks so cool, and I love fire types.

God I love volcarona.I think that slither wing looks cooler, but it's not able to get quiver dance so it's a bit worse.
Masquerain is my favorite bug type and it's antennae with eye patterns are what make it intimidating to other pokémons. It's a kind of mimicry some bugs, especially butterfly and moths, do to scare away predators.

Venomoth was already my favourite bug type after I used him in a platinum playthrough and I am really glad that people are using it too after Gen 5.
Also I envy you for your shiny Venomoth.
Heracross always has a special place in my heart it was the pokemon that got me into bug types
It does have that affect on people
It was Scyther for me, but you can bet every bug playthrough I've done outside of Gen 1 has a Heracross in it

@@griffinspengler1927 Ok this is what I would think of I run for James. Most of James’s main Pokémon are in the game and his ace Growlithe is in here. You can use Paradoxes because it’s like he has sent to Paldea to find them. And you gotta dress like him and keep every bottle cap you pick up lol

Volcorona is by far my favourite mon, ever. I was very happy to learn there were two more volcoronas
the amount of rare candies I saw after Scyther was given a mint is distressing.
And for my favourite Bug type, probably Ariados.
This one was so much fun!! Bug types are getting better with every new generation and viable to use in your run!

Definitely copped out on nuzlocke rules with the shiny Venomoth but it'd be heresy to say no to a shiny you can actually use when type-locked. Also, the level of strategy you employ is great, stuff like the Lagging Tail U-Turn for the damageless switch is something I've never seen and demonstrates strategy a level above what most other content creators do 90% of their runs (in my opinion)
Masquerain has intimidate bc they are based on butterflies and moths who have big eyes-shaped wings to scary pradators
like many butterflies/moths Masquerain has a scary face on its wings to scare away predators, so its not that farfetched that is has intimidate ;) its even mentioned in the pokedex entries of gen 3
My favorite playthrough for these games is a no evolution run with the focus on pokemon from one region. Ive done a Hoenn and Sinnoh playthrough and they were both very fun

Bug types are my favorite type with Venonat being my favorite pokemon.
Look at it, its a pillow, its a bug, its a pillow bug. Its a fluffy bug whose has not a single thought in its head. And its evolution doesn't gain the ability to think. lolol
my favorite bug type is ribombee! i love that little flying thing and the fact that its actually a monster with quiver dance pollen puff is really good, + i used one in my first sun playthrough and it killed. love it
Bug grass and poison are my favorite types so I love to see bugs get some screen time, especially lowkix. That thing was a beast

Shiny Venomoth sweep right after catching it before the final battle was just Protaganist level luck
In my water type only playthrough i spent alot of time breeding an egg for all water types in the indigo disc and sending them over to the water type acount and one of the main team members through the whole playthrough was my ace araquanid

I must say, I am pleased that the final boss was smacked to oblivion by a Shiny Venomoth.
Not only Venomoth is my favorite bug type, it's also my first shiny. I caught one way back in Pokemon Crystal at the route near the Lake of Rage where you can legitimately catch a pre-evolved Venomoth.
My other favorite bug types are Masquerain, Volcarona, Frosmoth, Vivillon and Beautifly.

From the vid my fav is Molt and of all time that’s a hard one… it’s a 4 way tie between Butterfree, Golisopod, Scizor, and Volcarona

Scolipede was always my fave beefy boy, steamroller and bulldoze are amazing
I done a mono type gym challenge on Gen 8 and it was Fun. It wasn't a nuzzlock but you got to catch every species in the game.
Since Gen 5, (except Gen 6) all the gens have given us a bunch of great new bugs. When the worst one since 2011 has been Spidops, we have had some good ones.

I'll admit, I'm a bit sad Vivillion got dropped towards the end there. It's my favorite pokemon, and I can vouch for its strength as I managed to sweep through Geeta's entire team with one. I was looking forward to seeing someone more competent than me take full advantage of her strengths, but it looks like Lokix took the spotlight instead.
Yeah i felt bad lokix didnt get to much spotlight up until that point since hes pn the thumbnail, but hey i know how great vivillon can be with quiver dance just like Masquerain and venomoth😊
Volcarona is the best bug Pokemon imo. I love that thing.

When Kleavor gets released on the dlc, the bug monotype will become SO much better having a counter for fire types.

Im pretty sure Masquerain has intimidate because it has big eye spots and is shaped like a face. Hence its name being a play on "masquerade"
The Vivillon pater depend of the region of the world you are playing, this is what defines the wing pattern for your Vivillon

Yo my first shiny on violet was a pawniard. Then 2 minutes later I found a modest shiny venemoth. Then on scarlet I found 2 shinies within 2 minutes of each other. (Greavard and sneasel)

Not strange! rare candies help me get the video out faster as you could realistically battle lvl 5 pokemon all day long until you level up or even chansey is an option later down the line! just a time saver for videos :)
