These ships have a significant advantage that is not very obvious: their hull design! The deep V hull design is special optimised for very rough seas.
It's nice to see a video about the Hellenic navy.
Wouldn't it have been more appropriate to call these missile boats the grandson of Themistocles as his military exploits were naval whereas Leonidas's military exploits were more land based?
Thanks for the nice comment. You are right about the title. But, the reason we refer to it as "the grandson of Leonidas in the sea" is that people know better about Leonidas and the Battle of Thermopylae. As you know, it is important for us that the title is attractive.
true, Leonidas is a name more fitting to the armored forces, especially considering our homebrew apcs is literally called Leonidas II lol.

The Hellenic navy has been very satisfied with the Super Vitas. Although some thoughts for more ships were floating around, they have been dropped. Perhaps their RAM will be upgraded to block II in the future.

These ships remind me of the Asheville class gunboats writ large.
Actually, one of the hamina class fast missile crafts of the finnish navy was integrated with torpedoes. I hope hellenic navy also integrates this ASW capability to the super vita class.

This is the kind of fast attack missile boat that the Philippines should consider buying for its litoral defence and patrol. It is heavily loaded with arms and missiles.

anyone else here who thinks the model kit hobby lacks severely a lot of modern ships and especially gunboat/missile boats?
Do they have airdefence capabilities?Because if they do operations in the eastern Mediterranean without some kind of air defence capabilities then they'll be easy pickings for the turkish airforce.Plus the turks have probably the best drones going around in today's market.So these warships need necessary additional counter measure weaponry if their to survive in a hostile environment.
I hope Greece and turkey will have someday good relations like of the day of atatürk and metaxas.

2 Belhara (FDI) frigates
4 Rousen (S. Vita) missile boats
2 papanikolis (type 214) submarines
it depends, if you mean future of 2030-50.
3 fdis
7 roussens (they most likely will start decommisioning only around 2040-50)
4 type 214 and maybe the one okeanos class 209
3 gowind (most likely corvette competition candidate)
3 hydra frigates
2-3 Kortenaers (until late 2030 at least)
the la combattantes 3A/Bs will probably see their end around late 2030 too.

And like in history, after leonidas died, the hard times began for his people. There needs to be a "hercules-class" battlecruiser, which can be protected by Super-Vita ships.
The DR 3000 systrem is of the S2 type, which is a more modern system by a couple of decades. After just watching the Gripen video and finding several faults there, I'm out of this playground level channel.
