The rosary is powerful. Unbeknownst to me, my mother had given me my grandmother’s rosary after she passed away in 1992. She put it in a box which I put in my basement. 23 years later I discovered it. I didn’t even know what it was. I learned how to pray it, and then got baptized into the Catholic Church in 2017. My grandmother told my mom that she wanted me to have it. I believe God placed that rosary in my home many years ago and like a tree it rooted itself into me and my soul. Now I leave rosaries everywhere I go because they are like tangible seeds of faith. You plant them somewhere and they grow.

The creator of all people, living creatures and the universe is Allah. There is no god but Allah. The truth is that Allah is the only god. Allah has no partner. Prophet Jesus is not a child of Allah. Prophet Jesus is the servant and messenger of Allah. The last of Allah's messengers is the prophet Muhammad. I invite you to this truth.
Coming to the world, living in the world, giving birth, having children, being killed or dying all belong to weak servants like us. Allah, the only God, is free from these and does not need anything for existence. This belief is called Tawhid. I recommend you to read the Quran.

About two years ago I started to pray the rosary every day, I was not always successful as far as doing it everyday but I was committed to do it. Sometimes I just forgot, sometimes I didn’t feel like it and sometimes I was just too tired. It changed my life little by little. I was raised Catholic and got away for a while, I am back now and I feel so strong about my faith. I will never get away from God ever again. I go to church every Sunday, I understand how the sacrements are important, especially confession (which I was so scared of)
I now pray the rosary every day and started to incorporate the Divine Mercy Chaplet in my everyday as well.

I was raised in a very Catholic family, but in my 30's I got very far from the catholic practices. I knew I needed to come back, but I had no strenght to do it. Until a serious problem knocked my door, and I desperate prayed the Novena of The Sacred Heart of Jesus composed by Saint Pío of Pietrlecina. The Novena contemplates asking for three graces. I asked the solution of my porblem, of course, but as I still had two more graces to ask, I asked for beeing perseverant in the prayers, minding specialy the Rosary. The last day of the Novena, while I was finishing the prayer, I realized that in each of the last 9 days I also had prayed the Rosary, and an enormous and intense sense of love to God invaded me. I don't know how, but I knew, very clearly, that there was no other treasure in this world worthy to look for than God, know Him and love Him. I was so happy, imensely happy.
Suddenly, I felt - just in a spiritual way - the presence of someone vomiting hatred arround me, yealling of rage. It was so intense that I started to fear that invisible presence, and that fear made my life very unconfortable during a month, in which I was hardly able to go upstair to attend my baby at nights or simply beeing alone. Even that, the Grace of God was assisting me and I was no able to left my prayers again, I didn't want to! The grace urged me to pray. I needed to pray, and many times I felt "cravings" for prayer. I have to say that during that time I received many spiritual (non visible) consolations that helped my to "survive" the tough temptation I was going trough.
After criying a lot and asking to Our Lady to stop those temptations that were taking my peace off, I managed to go to the confession (I wanted, but always something happened ) and after the confession my peace returned! Observe that I also had temptations to not say tho the priest anythig regarding my fears, because I didn't want to confirm to whom was arrasing me wat happened in my mind, which he is not able to read... nonsenses, my body was transparent enough regarding what was happening on my mind, and clearly was another lie to obstruct the sacrament of penance.
If you do not have strenght enough to pray every day. Ask for it!

Is it possible to pray it with motions or dance versus just sitting still? Make it more engaging and fun. Children often learn better when multi tasking. Scripture says the little children were drawn to Jesus. I have to believe Jesus must have been filled with joy, expression, dance and fun along with that of duty and obligation… my son is 25 so just speaking from my experience teaching kids church. The more engaging seems the more desire. Though I get it takes from the reverence maybe… creatively possibly combine reverence and fun. Or sing the prayers? Just thoughts.

@@mark7428 "She had relations with her husband after Jesus was born" We know the arguments for and against this and you don't know this for sure. Jesus called her woman the few times he addressed her in scripture because it was common and typological. You also don't know that for sure (that it was because of potential idolatry) You're literally speaking FOR him here. Her importance ABSOLUTELY does not end with his birth; she literally changed his mind at the wedding feast when your modern ears picked up on the "woman" address. Queen of Heaven is clearly demonstrated in Rev 12 where right before that John was talking about the ark of the covenant. Yes, it also means the Church and Israel...that's what's neat about prophecy but the Ark typology is clear as it also is when Elizabeth greets her "how is it that the mother of my Lord should come to me?" You're making a lot of bold assumptions, my friend. I get the confusion about brothers and sisters though, even though original reformers like Luther didn't play this. God bless you.

Solid advice Father. I do caution folks to be sure to focus on diving into the mysteries more than simply checking a box or doing it because a particular apparition said it was really important. I say this because as someone who struggles with anxiety and can be scrupulous at times I can turn the Rosary into more of a charm or spiritual insurance or a mere obligation that I feel pressured into doing. Put that all aside and focus on the mysteries so that the graces can flow freely and have their effect. God bless!

I have done Fr. Michael Gaitley’s 33 Days to Morning Glory, a Marian consecration. I truly believe that Mary is my (spiritual) mother, and she is the gateway through which I hope to reach eternal life with Jesus.

Yes, you should. Before I became a Catholic, before I found a sponsor, before a lot of changes to my spirit, worldview, attitude, and way of living, I began by praying the rosary. In Latin (because, hey, why not, while I’m at it!).
I won’t pretend I’m more consistent than I have been, but I can testify to it being a powerful tool to open your life to the Lord, who will grace you more powerfully than you may understand.
I credit sources like this and Bishop Barron, who explained the rosary to me so that I COULD begin praying it in good faith, because I was in a Protestant mindset where it’s widely misunderstood and reviled as idolatry. God works miracles with the hands of his body, the church, and I’m grateful to God for such good pastors. I pray for their good, and for all our leaders to hear ken unto God. Without him, all our efforts to do good in this world will fail, but with him and all our shortcomings, the world can thrive in goodness.

But if you are doing 5 consistently, push yourself to do the real whole 15 that were requested by Our Lady at Fatima, and you will have a much deeper and more mature spiritual life.

@MomHarper - The Rosary is a meditation on the Scriptures, while the Divine Mercy is a personal offering of the Holy Mass. St. Dominic organized the three part Rosary in the 12th century, and St. Faustina received the Divine Mercy chaplet just before WWII. Together, it works like we have just attended Sunday services. But you still need to receive the Eucharist.

There were some reforms in the indulgence dispensation by pope Saint Paul VI, in order to retreat from the numerical approach to the finality of it that is to foster greater union with God, in the case partaking His Nature through Good Works. So you can only receive one >plenary< indulgence a day, but you may grow in merit and likeness indefinitely. Remember, every good action is eternal and keep everyone a bit farther from sin, even decreasing a bit the gravity of the sins that would be committed; and makes every other good action cheaper and more tasteful, even though Goodness should suffice Itself.

After following those deceivers, the descendants found they had no inheritance of vast riches and even lost everything they seemed to have. They inquired of the King for their riches. In fact, for a good time many congregations made use of the Office of Our Lady instead of the Breviary. Since Vatican II, however, they are encouraged to use the "common" one, for a pastoral end, of making the public prayer of the "People of God" the psalms, which is supposed to help with ecumenism. I have tried the 150 psalms daily and 1000 Hail Marys(A Rosary by mystery), and found that even though the psalms shape our humanity nicely in the awaiting for the Messiah, second coming in our case, I felt much more peace and closer to God in the mirroring of Our Lady. One of Saint Louis Mary Monfort's praise to the Rosary was that meditating the Life of Christ is more excellent than meditating the expectation of His First Coming, as the New Alliance is traditionally more excellent than the Old One.

The very idea for all, the laity, to pray the Breviary, which is also from the Council, even though it is not bad, comes from this understanding of the entirety of the Church as a Sacrament, more than the particular sacraments and priesthood as in Trent, which is not bad either. My point being that this configuration may look more efficient to human eyes, but the witness of True Great Sainthood and prodigies of Grace are all operated through Fierce Marian Devotion. In every single apparition, approved or not, Our Mother confirms how the Rosary is the weapon for our times. Our mind will never be as an efficacious instrument as Her, you need to deal with it. But yes, She is a Pearl not to be cast to the swines, and the Church has indeed became a pigsty these times.. @@dansedevie123 By the way, even Eucharistic Adoration, after the Sacraments, is raised above all other devotions, and certainly is proven to be more efficacious. Every good priest does it and has devotion to Our Lady, it will just get more and more obvious as time goes by, hopefully. We are not a People marked mainly by the waiting for the Messiah like the jews and the orthodox, we are a People United to God, and partaking His Blessedness, until Heaven makes us perfect. We shall await His Second Coming more for Him to take us to Him than to consummate His Justice. And we cultivate such Hope more in tasting His Blessedness in Communion than in the knowledge of the expectation. That is just my theological opinion, even though as persuasive, to myself, as the Truth.

There is NO way that I can pray 15 decades of the Rosary daily. Why? I pray very very slowly and deliberately and 2 decades would take me 40 minutes on a good day. Is it okay to pray a partial rosary BUT on a consistent basis? I have an obsessive/ compulsive personality or condition. The answer seem simple but it bugs me inwardly that I cant pray that long. anybody's input would be appreciated! thank you.

The rosary doesn't do anything, nor does repeating "hail mary" over and over again. Salvation is by Christ alone and Jesus said to only pray to the father in his name, but before you do that you must be saved first. Ephesians 2:8-9 "for by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves it is a GIFT of God. Not of works lest anyman should boast." Salvation is by grace through faith alone, you cannot add anything or you are not under grace. The Greek translation for the word grace is CHARIS meaning "unMERITTED favor." Simply believe the gospel to be saved and be saved permanently. "After you BELIEVED, you were sealed with the holy spirit of promise who is the GUARANTEE of our inherentance until the redemption of the purchased possession."
Romans 11:7 "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work."

Greetings jamison, more and more people are deconstructing from all of Christianity these days, meaning they would disagree with your point of “Salvation is by Christ alone and Jesus”. I disagree with this as i do with you. The point is just because say it and just because they say it does not make it so. So now what is the issue… well, what makes your interpretation of scripture the correct interpretation or should i ask, what makes your version of “i let scripture interpret scripture” more correct that the hundreds of others in the world? Is it the infallible one? If not then who really cares? on the other hand there is this to ponder and answer “IF” you have an answer…
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their list of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?

    • @jsam1997
      @jsam1997 Před 6 měsíci

@srich7503 also, feel free to explain why you think salvation has anything to do with works if the literal Greek translation of grace is CHARIS, meaning "unmeritted favor." Paul says "for by GRACE you have been saved through FAITH and NOT.....OF......YOURSELVES, it is a GIFT of God, NOT as a RESULT......OF........WORKS, so that no one may boast." Thats not an interpretation, that's reading plain text.
If according to Paul we are saved by "unmeritted favor" then logically you CANT MERIT IT. Which means you can't "work" to effect it, it has to be by faith alone. This stuff really isn't that hard.

@srich7503 I don't know enough about the creation of how the Bible was put together to comment on it. You're basically speaking a foreign language to me, but let's say for the sake of argument that the catholic church did do that....and? If anything its more embarrassing that you guys put the Bible together and yet don't even know how to interpret it properly. Isn't the catholic church the same ones who pray to Mary? Chapter and verse where it commands us to do so. Don't you guys also pray to the saints? Chapter and verse that commands us to do so. Don't you guys also make confession to a priest as if he has more power than you? Chapter and verse, 1 john actually tells us to confess to the Lord himself, not to a priest. Don't you guys also hold up that pagan golden sun idol looking thing you decided to call "the eucharist" DEFINITELY need a Chapter and verse on that 🤣🤣🤣 and you also seem to for some reason believe Jesus's "essence" is in it......OK.
You guys are just like the new testament pharasises who had the entire old testament for hundreds of years, studying it and still didn't even recognize their creator/savior when he was standing right in front of them.

The rosary has no basis in scripture at all, Catholicism is work salvation, please turn to Christ in faith as the Bible clearly says we are saved by grace which translates to CHARIS meaning "unmeritted favor/free gift." quite literally. There is a Reason why Paul says in Romans "for the wages of sin is death, but the FREE gift of God is eternal life through christ Jesus our lord." Again grace's literal translation in the Greek is "unmeritted favor/free gift." Salvation is completely free all you have to do is believe that what Jesus did for you 2000 years ago actually worked. He died as a substitute for sin on the cross for you and me because the penalty for sin is death, if the penalty has already been paid and "by grace you have saved through faith" then all you are doing is believing that his payment was for you, a.k.a excepting it and believing you have eternal life as a result of his finished work (and of course believing he rose from the dead as a dead savior can't save you.) The reason you cannot add a work to Christ's finished work is because as Paul makes clear in Romans 11:6 "And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work." You aren't under grace if you add something to the gospel because grace must be unmeritted for it to be attributed to you. Again, you are just trusting in what Christ already did for you, that's why in ephesians Paul says "after you believed, you were sealed with that holy spirit of promise, which is the GUARANTEE of our inherentance until the redemption of the purchased possession." Paul can't use the word guarantee here if salvation is partially based off of something you do, as obviously YOU can fail in your efforts meaning there is obviously no guarantee. But if it is entirely based off of what Christ did, then there is a guarantee.
