We are called to pray each and every day, to enter into conversation with God but sometimes it can seem difficult to know what to say. How does one enter into prayer? Is it really as complicated as it seems?
Today Fr. Gregory Pine O.P., offers us some simple instructions from the wisdom of St. Francis De Sales for lifting our heart and mind to the Lord and entering into that most necessary and important dialogue with our beloved.

I’m currently in a season where prayer not only feels dry, but I feel repulsed by it. It takes a lot of effort to actually sit down and spend time with the Lord. Please pray for me that I can get through it and continue communing with God.
Will do. I know that it's a rotten feeling, there are times when I don't even want to look at the prayer corner I usually love so much.
Try to go to perpetual adoration for an hour everyday or thursdays just in silent without thinking anything just looking at HIM
Oh my brother, I will pray, I will try
I feel that way as well.
You dont need to sit down in order to pray. Who said that? 🥰😍😍😇 just BE present to whatever you do in a loving acceptance
Main points:
1. Place yourself in the presence of God
2. Ask God for inspiration
3. Translate insights into works of heart (affections or resolutions)
4. Thank for graces received, ask for graces, tie into spiritual bouquet
Frances de Sales: why I became Catholic at age 50. ❤
Nice !
Welcome 💗✝️ St Francis de Sales is awesome 🥰 We are blessed with so many inspiring Saints who guide & help us 🙏 God Bless you 🕊
I listened to the Introduction to the Devout Life on Hallow...It is magnificent. I then ordered the book and savor reading a little bit every day. It's hard to believe it was written in the early 1600s; it's completely timely and relevant.
Love this!! Simple and to the point ! I didn’t know that I had already been praying 😅. Thank you for this Fr Gregory.
I love gentle saints like St. Francis De Sales. Proof that being simple in prayer can bear many fruits and lead us closer to sainthood :)
Great video & insights, thank you Father Gregory! 🙏🏻
Pray, hope and dont worry -St Padre Pio🙏
Looking forward to the commentary on "Introduction to the Devout Life"! I've always been touched from the bits of it that I've read, but I've only read bits. Will be glad to hear the whole thing, and from Fr. Pine to boot. (And I'm sure Fr. Jacob is great too!)
This was awesome, Fr!! Looking forward to your series!!! God bless you 🙏
Amen!!

"Because it's awesome," Fr Gregory Pine
Thank you for this video Fr.Gregory! It was very helpful... you explained prayer in a very easy to understand way for the average person... I never understood what movements of the heart meant... now I know... I especially liked what you said about the spiritual bouquets that we can smell later and recall our experience! Thank you so much! 🙏🙏🙏
This is where the fun begins.
Thank you for this 💗
St Francis De Sales is amazing his invincible argument is as it states unbeatable
“God is present everywhere...God is present in your own interior life by grace...the indwelling Holy Trinity...cling to the good things that God has done.”
God bless, Fr. Gregory! 😄
Prove that god is everywhere.
@@rjskeptic5273 I am so happy to hear from you. “The organ of Orthodox epistemology is the purified nous.” That is to say, as Christ said, that the pure in heart will see God. Therefore, one must first purify oneself, then one is illuminated and may experience vision of God (theoria), and finally one is deified, wherein we become partakers of the divine nature. This is an empirical science, if you like, that we must experience for ourselves; therein lies your proof!
God bless you😊
@@seans.1331 Big difference between what you imagine to be true and what is actually true.
@@rjskeptic5273 I couldn't agree more. God bless you😊✝
Thank you Father. This was wonderful. I look forward to the new podcast.
This is why I can't wait for this to begin! Hope it will be here on You Tube!
I don’t know if this is relevant, but after a long absence from the Church of my youth, taught by French nuns, I have returned to praying in French. It makes me feel more connected than in English, even though I have not spoken this language for many, many years. It just feels more natural? Jeanne ( retired RN)
The things learnt in childhood run very deep and will spring back up given a chance.
Thank you Fr. Gregory! This was very helpful... I never understood what the movements of the heart meant... you’ve made this very doable... I love especially the

Boom great 😊

How can the podcast be accessed?
When is this series scheduled to begin?
I wonder where that chapel is...
I didn't know it was God's will whether He makes you a saint or not. I thought He wanted EVERYONE to become a saint.
Hi Father I wish there was a more practical approach like an example or a guided meditation through a Gospel. Just as an introduction to show people how this can be done.
FIRST
Dia duit. Most Holy Trinity indwells and groans for us. Prayer is entering dialogue of The Trinity per Fr Folsom, OSB, on praying without ceasing. St de Sales admits he's derivative. Everyone has their fav charisms.Saying not all can meditate struck as odd but perhaps dealing with more illiterate his era. Still theres always art.
Fr Pine, T
God has never revealed anything to me.
When Roman catholic Church promotes that personal relationship with Jesus is dangerous, how can anyone pray to Jesus Christ our saviour?
The Catholic Church does not promote the idea that a personal relationship with Jesus is dangerous.
You are mistaken. The CLOSEST personal relationship with Jesus is only possible in the Catholic Church.
@@tryingnottobeasmartass757 are you greater than your vicar of Christ?
@@wms72 you are contradicting with your vicar of Christ. Careful!

wms72 is not contradicting the pope.
Trying to focus on what you’re saying, but what’s up with your forehead??
