You cannot visualise an ordinary brain's limitations because your brain's visualisation capacity is googol like a number in comparison to mine. For me and my fellow beings of no less than seven billion, it is very easy to assimilate god created earth one fine morning with a fistful of clay. We do not think of the size of that fist because our brains are the basic model.

What you say is right. The usage khagolam to mean planets in sky is copiously found in vedic literature. Not that our professor doesn't know it. He knows it perfectly well. He's very knowledgeable. But the political ideology and views of a person do not always allow him/her to disclose certain things. Whenever they say it's always Babilonia or Egypt or Mesopotamia or Greece but never India. Whenever they say ancient people didn't know something they mean "those" ancient people. When they say something was discovered they find the time when "those" people discovered it.
