    When Chaos Warp revealed Pattern of Rebirth, it should have been put into play enchanting an opponent's creature. There's no 'may' there. Great game, though. Everyone got to do their thing. It wasn't a 'non-game' for anyone due to flood, screw or shenanigansfrom an opponent. It also helps that I really like all 4 commanders played here. I want to build a Muldrotha deck, but I already have a Sultai deck and another would just delay me from completing the Rainbow Challenge.

    I actually thought the Walk the Aeons "combo" was a cool way for the Muldrotha deck to win. Maybe I'll have to add that to my Tatyova deck. In general I don't like taking extra turns in EDH, but that would be a single card and would require a lot of the setup a lands deck is natually doing.

    Chaos Warp reveals the Pattern of Rebirth but when it can't be put into play it should stay on top. Instead it went into his graveyard.
    Scavenging Ooze could have eaten the Seal of Doom? And the Polluted Delta? I think the mana was available with the Arbor Elf and the Birds? Maybe he was keeping up mana for another spell?
    Missed Beast Whisperer trigger on Kamahl cast.
    Missed a Vicious Shadows Trigger on Sakura-Tribe Elder and Pete could've blocked with his Dualcaster Mage and had another trigger, John could've blocked and gotten some more triggers, it was never clear how many cards Steve had in hand so not sure if it would have mattered, but if there were 5 cards in hand he would have taken 10 from those 2 triggers and probably been unable to attack.

    02:51 Chaos warp => Pattern of Rebirth , there were 4 creatures in play , and He MUST attach it to one of them
    This doesn't apply (explanation 9/22/2011) , because it is "Enchant creature" , not "Enchant creature you control" , and there were 4 creatures in play
    9/22/2011 - If the revealed card is a permanent card but can’t enter the battlefield (perhaps because it’s an Aura with nothing to enchant), it remains on top of that library.
    303.4f If an Aura is entering the battlefield under a player’s control by any means other than by resolving as an Aura spell, and the effect putting it onto the battlefield doesn’t specify the object or player the Aura will enchant, that player chooses what it will enchant as the Aura enters the battlefield. *The player must choose a legal object or player according to the Aura’s enchant ability and any other applicable effects.*

No complaints about the winning combo as it's neat, but like you said, it's a 3-4 card combo, and Muldrotha has far better win cons available. • @HouseyHouse
    @HouseyHouse Před 4 lety

    John actually could had won if he remember the Vicious Shadows triggers. It happens Whenever a creature is put into a graveyard from play, you may have Vicious Shadows deal damage to target player equal to the number of cards in that player's hand. When finding lands with sakkura this would had trigger the shadow and possible killed steve. Just saying because there was no mention of the triggers in the game play and steve still had cards in his hand to take damage.

    As a Ruric player I have to say Johns Ruric deck always frustrates me. What is the point of Goblin Bombardment? Also Crystal Ball seems so slow as well.

    • @ToxicPoutine
      @ToxicPoutine Před 5 lety

      Its a primal surge deck with budget stuff in it (crystal ball over top). The bombardment comes out with vicious shadows on surge and is there in case for some reason craterhoof and rest of deck cant get around a pillowfort or anything of the like, but they also work with any of the minor token gen creatures I run just to get some damage in tandem with ruric

      Play Rule #11: "If a player has been dealt 21 points of combat damage by a particular Commander during the game, that player loses a game."
      So, yep! Even Purphoro's damage from creatures entering doesn't count as commander damage.
