Nice machine. Good thing you have an original 503. For the RMZ 500 there is absolutely no documentation and info about spare parts. The fact that it is a Russian Company, with all those restrictions because of the Ukrainian war, it is going to be hell to repair it when something breaks on that engine. To bad Rotax does not make 2 strokes anymore. The 582 is also out of production. I wish the manufactures switched over to Hirth engines.
I've not tested the fuel economy just yet. The Rotax 503 can burn up to 14L an hour in an aircraft that cruise 600rpm below wide open throttle. I cruise level around 3900-4100 rpm, so I'm guessing 8-10L an hour. I have a fuel capacity of about 5-gallons.
@@trentwhitney8346 So like 1.5hrs of thrilling adventure for 5 gallons of fuel. Excellent deal. I would imagine you could use any fan cooled snowmobile engine? A Yamaha and others had nice 550cc fan cooled motors with more than 50hp.
Hey congrats!! I have a xenet with the cosmos but I’m at 200ft above sea level. Hey, is it me or does it seam your A-assist line was under tension during flight? Might be the angle we are seeing it but I feel like it should have a little slack in it.
@@trentwhitney8346 gotcha! When I first took off in my xenet my an assist was tight. Had to loosen it mid flight. Very carefully!! Blue skies and keep up the great content
Wow! Wish I had brakes. Beautiful machine!
Thanks! The brakes actually work great on the full size. Not so well on the light.
Right on trent!!!!
Thanks!
So awesome Trent
Thanks!
I got a bad 80’s beach vacation movie vibe! Lol
lol!
You’re living my dream bother!
Thanks! So fun!

Agreed! At least I can get parts for the 503. I wish they still made both of these engines, 503 and 582. Thanks!
That's so awesome. How much flight time do you get with what size fuel tanks and 50 hp?

@@stevesmith3033 Not sure. I only know of the 503 and 582 in two-stroke Rotax.

@@johngemmi3576 thanks! No there is slack, but on my first flight it was a little too much for inflation.

@@johngemmi3576 wow! Glad it didn’t collapse!
Is that a reserve chute above your head?
Yes! A 400 kg Apco Mayday 28 UL reserve.
Is it still under part 103? Seems like you need a sport pilot license to fly that thing.
Yes! Without the electric start its just under 254 pounds. I wish I had the electric start, but I'd rather have the power and be legal.
Where can i find the cockpit ?
I bought the cockpit from Power2Fly with the trike. Boise Paramotors can probably get it for you.
