Niantic is just being lazy with the events because go fest season is around the corner 😅 such a greedy and lazy company

Pidgeot and Talonflame are both really good in gbl (noctowl is also useable but not as good as in prior seasons). Honchkrow and staraptor are both top flying attackers in their shadow form and decent budget options in their normal form. It would've been cool if we could evolve certain pokemon to get legacy moves tho, like incinerate talonflame and possibly wing attack pidgeot. Definitely a missed opportunity, but ig that isn't standard for research days atm
The masterwork research is nice and it's good they made it a special research this time instead of a timed research. I'm surprised they're adding any event bonuses at all tho. I was expecting them to just release the research by itself if it overlapped with other events

The GBL relevant Pokemon here is great! Pidgey, Fletching, Hoot Hoot all have serious play GO Battle League players. I think the perspective here should be how do we get the most out of these events? Why have a negative perspective on things we can’t influence (such as the events Niantic is coordinating). Instead how do we make the most of them?
Nobody plays gbl.

You're right, the game has just been very "meh" since the tour. Nothing really new to grind for except for shiny Wimpod. No way I am getting a Wiglett without driving 2 or 3 hours. I checked overpass turbo, ran the query and the nearest confirmed beach biome is at least 2 hours away from me in light traffic. Everything is just stale at the moment, I'm holding gyms downtown for days when previously I would be lucky to hold them for a few hours. There has also been a noticeable drop in players out and about during raid hours / days. I'm still playing and walking, but I think it might be worse now than it was after the remote raid nerf. On the plus side, I am spending way, way less than I was even just a year ago so at least my bank account is happy.
honestly the free masterball just feels like another *gift* for niatantic to sweep a certain update drama under the rug
& with the more than 1 pokemon research days niatantic should do 1/5 shiny boosted rates instead of 1/10 considering that oc its gonna be more than one pokemon, but also for us rural players we don’t have an abundance of pokestops. Its just something that bothered me with the last research day we had with electric themed one, the amount shiny pokemon I caught felt slim even tho it was 1/10 boost shiny ods, there was too many pokemon in the research pool to make progress on getting any specific shiny & just ended up running out of pokestops
I’m definitely skipping this research day. I have limited pokestops where I live so it takes a lot of planning and effort on my part to participate on research days and this one is definitely not worth it. I have multiples of all these shinies already.

This honestly doesn't ruffle my feathers. I still need Hoothoot (not including the costume one), Doduo, and Rufflet.
2024 has been amazing... no? Mewtwo, Sinnoh Tour, Kyogre/Groudon. I guess it's more fun when you haven't been playing for years. Almost every event has been great for me, a somewhat new/casual player. I spent most of last year never seeing a Spearow, so for the sake of completing the Pokedex, every mediocre Pokemon needs it's day in the sun.
All the updates lately have been putting lipstick on a pig. xD However, they seem to have done something about 2 days ago - when we had those couple hours where AR went back to a black screen - that helped with the catch screen lag/frame rate issue. My animation is still a little rough, but my actions and ball location are matching up better and I'm actually able to aim my throws and make great and excellent throws again. I can largely ignore my avatar, because it doesn't affect game play, but not being able to catch pokemon was a serious problem when that's the main point of the whole game.
While not every pokemon on here is a winner, I am looking forward to it. Noctowl is good in PVP, and I need a shiny Rufflet still. Honestly if you are a shiny hunter, here is some free shinies. I have all of the shinies except rufflet and pidove, which is only in the wild. once I get the shiny rufflet I'm done but any extra shinies will be a nice FEATHER in my cap lol
I guess it depends on how you play but I’ve never cared about meta relevancy. I still raid and battle but I don’t pay too much attention to which Pokemon I’m using because I have to do remote raids since I live in an area that doesn’t have much going on. That’s why I’m more of a shiny hunter and to have all these bird Pokemon in this event actually fires me up. I’m missing most of them. But I do wish they could try balancing shiny hunters and meta Pokemon into each event.
Every time I look at my ugly and weirdly proportioned new avatar it makes me realise how little Niantic cares about the views of its players. After nearly 8 years I can just feel my enthusiasm for the game slipping away............
This has been my experience as well. I whittled my entire Pokemon Go play style down to the most minimal and basic of grinds and that's where I sit with it.
I agree this is not too exciting, but on the other hand we cannot get meta Pokémon and new shinies every other day, or we'll all be done with the game by the end of the year... But still they could have included more meta or rarer Pokémon that we already have, like Oricorio, Gligar, Skarmory, Hoothoot, etc.
Catching Wonders "event" is even worse, if that can be believed. It's like that kid in art class when asked for a diorama sprinkles a bit of sand, puts a tree up, and uses blue and green construction paper to simulate the sky and grass and that's it (mind you, I was that kid). Even if it was 1.5x Stardust and XP throughout the day, that would have been better... I just hope that they are gearing up for something spectacular for GO Fest...
This research day is very similar to the last one. The last one feature mostly irrelevant electric pokemon. The obvious draw of these research days is shiny collecting and that small chance at a shundo. It's not about collecting powerful pokemon. This time around they chose some good choices to help with people's shiny dex. Though spearow and doduo have been around a long time, there are still a lot of people who have never seen their shiny forms. I myself only have one shiny taillow and two shiny spearow. It'll be nice to check the rest off my Pokedex.
I'm looking forward to it since some of these shinies are hard to get (spearow, hoothoot, taillow) since the game has moved on generally from those generations of pokemon now
I know you’re mainly a PvE player but Talonflame and Pelipper are amazing in the Ultra Leage right now, so Fletchling and Wingull will be a very useful spawn
Rufflet candy will be nice, I’ve got a good Braviary I’d like to take to level 40+
I deleted every damn bird I had after this pathetic trash event and can’t even log in after wasting my whole day to get upset for paying to not encounter a single shiny!! FLOCK OFF NIANTIC!!
I still see a lot of newish players and to their credit Niantic has always been good at doing things that let them catch up with the players who started in the previous decade when the pool of spawns was much smaller and less diluted. A lot of those flyers are gbl-relevant.
i'm also dissapointed as you are... last events made me think niantic started thinking about the event spawns/research rewards and not just randomize unintersting pokemon - almost every last event had some boosted shiny rate pokemons, some extra stardust pokemon and some raid/pvp relevant pokemon. but the bird research day seems to be just unintersting random pokemon like in the past, exept maybe rufflet that can be interesting shiny... very dissapointing...

Imagine paying to get “extra” encounters for Pokémon that spawn on the daily basis…pathetic.
The event is not that bad. Certainly not any worse than the last research day we had, where chinchou and joltik were the only ones worth getting for PVP. From my experience, joltik was so rare in that event, it might as well have not been included. And any chinchou you got would have not had good IVs for pvp anyway. I dont really raid, but I'm pretty sure none of them were good for raids either.
what are you talking about? This is the best research day we've had in a long time. Most players I know lack at least 2 of the featured shiny. They are actually excited about the increased odds.

LOLOLOL, had no idea the event was even announced. All good, I'll just do something else like ride my bike and spin stops. Bad events are fine as long as the rest of the game is fun. Sadly, it's not. They are late with updating a ton of old features.
Noctowl, Pelipper, and Talonflame are all banned from remix cup. Are they really so bad or useless?

Bird event seems very pedestrian. Even if say they did Oricorlo Day where all the different ones were unlocked for the 3 hours... at least that would have been fun. I was also hoping that maybe Hawlucha was available somehow after a quest. Nope... just here's some birds in the wild and here's some other ones that you can get through the research and pay per shiny. I'm going to concentrate on my favorite of the wild birds out, but otherwise it seems like they just slapped this together without much though. I'm not buying the ticket, none of the birds shown interest me at all.

We have 2 very good pvp birds noctowl which is a top Pokemon as well as pidgy another top pokemon both very very good in gbl n sometimes ul..not too mention we can get a master ball, this gonna be a awesome event I'm for sure gonna grind noctowl it's just too op in gbl not too...you don't like new stuff? Its a good thing they changed it a little instead of just one flyer
I think the flock together is so good as a title but it is so mid. I have all of the shiny birds except for Spearow the family that is but other then that. We could have had a raid day for many of these but Niantic just wants money which is not good at all and so I will not do it at all and that is a shame. I will be at a baseball game so i will miss the first hour again but hey I’ll just focus on the baseball game for that day. Watterl would have been more exciting then this but other then that this is it. No dollars for me will justify me caring about this research event. The Master ball is so cool but other then that this is it. Great Vid count. See ur next video.

Can’t even log into this game after the flock together research day! What a waste!! Grinded insanely hard and didn’t get a singular shiny!! Not ONE!! These damn birds are useless couldn’t even give me a pathetic useless bird shiny I get more while on break at work for 15 mins than I did in all day of that flock together trash event!!! I went from 200% invested into this game to not even being able to log into the damn game! Total 360 degree turn around in 3 hours time goes to show it only takes a few minutes for niantic to fck something up that’s going great!

Ty I agree 💯 as I've stated count is even downing noctowl n Pidgey 2 very useful pokemon in pvp especially noctowl he's very incredibly powerful in gbl...so far the other yt go channels I watch had nothing really negative too say about this event I mean everyone knows how good noctowl is in gbl... honestly this the last channel I watch after mystic n the others just because count is that negative

@@CountJinsulaOfficial i dont think u complain too much, u represent also my voice and others, who expect niantic to think a little about event pokemon, especialy when it comes to more intense players that are not automatically excited and chearful with every new event like casual players that play mostly in events. i appreciate ur critic videos:)
