Ahh! If only I lived in or close to Upland, CA. I have to stop watching Ken's YT videos knowing full well that there is little to no chance that my speakers are probably never going to be graced by his hands. Not from where I am located at the present time. It's still such a joy to watch the master at work anyway

Why did you attach the surround to the back, when the originals were on the face?

Thank you for your comment. This particular model had the surround on the rear of the cone. Early Lanasaloy white surrounds were attached to the front of the cone. JBL changed the assembly over time to the rear of the cone. When I get a Lansaloy surround model on the front of the cone, I'll replace the Aquaplas that comes off the cone from removing the old surround mount and mount the new foam surround to the rear of the cone, along with a new spider. The moving mass is also adjusted to match the Engineering Design Standard. LE14A AlNiCo magnet motors also require a Full Service Teardown/Cleaning/Recharge to ensure it performs like new.

Very nice work. Say, any idea where to get white surrounds to replace the Lansaloy ones? There's one guy that sells them for like $75 shipped on ebay. But man, I just can't bring myself to do it. I might just sell them as is.

I prefer using the material that JBL used in subsequent revisions. Lansaloy was discontinued for a reason, and went to grey foam.

Do you make a 128H recone kit with the white cone?
