YES! Jesus IS coming again, isn't he!!?? Well done, Sir. These speakers will sound even better after they get 20-30 hours on them. IMHO, those old Oxford tens with the brown bells, were the coolest (and to me, one of the best sounding) speakers ever made. And my very first amp was a 1964 Super Reverb! Still have it!! I'm about to get it back from my new tech, after umpteen other techs have made it something other than a Fender amp! And I really like your organizational style, Ken (grins!). And ya gotta play that axe more, son!! Kenny Lee over and out.

Greetings, dear Ken! You are doing wonderful things! I need your help and a hint. I got a pair of old jbl 116a speakers in very poor condition. One of them is missing a magnetic circuit. I would really like to restore them, but this cannot be done without a chain. There are no broken similar speakers on sale (especially in my country). To create a new chain, I need to submit its drawing for production. I really don't want to break the second speaker for this reason, maybe you have the picture I need? Sincerely, Mikhail Bullough.

I tought Aquaplas is a form of paster, how did you manage to apply it by spraying?

I found a par of C-38 Barons at a yard sale years ago. I didn't know what they were but after I found out I opened them up. Unfortunately someone had taken the X overs and the tweeters. 1 had a 128 H in it and the other had a 123 A in it. Not sure how that happened. The cones and foam crumbled into dust when I put them in my guitar amp. I bought a pair. They want more for a recone for both than you can get a working speaker for. I put GT5 -12's in the Baron cabs and worked great until they started to shake them to pieces. I put more screw in them and they sound great.

How do you remove the excess glue from the cone edge? Im refoaming pair of 125A's from L36s, previous refoam was sloppy & glue is like silicone, looks exactly like these with that thin, extra glue lip at the edge. Grrr.

Sir you are a true blue master of your Craft.my only suggestion is before you do make quotes for work that you have the product sitting in front of you, this way you can get an idea of what needs to be done and charge appropriately. I think it's absolutely amazing the skill and care you bring to restore the dead back to life, I have followed you for many years, never steering us wrong. Thank you thank you thank you. You are our one man band!

I have had my fair share of customer caused disaster before bringing electronics to me for service, back in the day when I did that. A guy showed up with a Marantz 10b tuner that he had 'upgraded' with metal film resistors.. even in RF circuits. 😔.. Worse yet.. he could not solder, and did the entire job with 'Liquid Solder' glue. I had to decline, and both laugh my ass off, and have a good cry at the loss of such a classic. I gave up doing improvement mods, due to too many items being butchered so badly before I would get it. We need good working order to start with for op-amp upgrades, and cap upgrades. I feel for you... having crap arrive when it's not supposed to.

I looked at the videos describing diy recone process before I sent my drivers to you. It was clear that tooling and techniques were required that I did not process. Getting complete service including recharge is a scarce commodity, so patience is part of the game.

l know the feeling , you should charge double if they have messed with it in any way.

Hi Ken, I have some 2206's that i would love to dig deeper. I'm trying to follow along with what you did in your mod but am not near as knowledgeable and trying to keep up. Did you just increase the mass of the drover from the 50 grams to 90 grams or did you recone the 2206 with the 2203? Thank you!
