But the issue is when you have multiple people in one home who game. Many years ago 1 console could play 4 people. Now 1 console is good for 1 person, maybe 2. If I have 3 gamers in home, that's 3 consoles, 2 at the least and 2 subscribers at the least. That's $160 for the base service. PC move or just put gaming down for good...?

Actually you can. And playing ps games sucks compared to playing gamepass games on pc. Ps is locked at 60 frames on pc and they dont go based on your hardware. So your locked even if you have a 4090. Where as gamepass goes based on your hardware, youre not limited
I made the jump from xbox to ps5. Honestly i feel playstation plus catalog is much better. More popular 3rd party titles than gamepass. I always felt gamepass priotise more to the indie games. But will give to them for those day 1 releases

Subscription based models are a blessing and a curse. The more popular it becomes, the harder games can say "Gimme $70 to play", which means studios will start NEEDING PS/Microsoft to allow them to be on their pass. When that happens, we'll have bigger monopolies and studios will lose more directorial freedom.
But as it stand currently, with "pay to play" being the norm, those passes are a bargain and a half. I just hope they don't overtake the industry.
ive been with sony since ps1, i have the ps5 and series x and i think xbox is winning not only because you can play 360,xb1 and og titles but because the console itself has 120hz mode enabled at all times and xbox still has community posts for multi-player games.every ps5 update is something basic that the console should have had at launch or with in the first year.

The free monthly games are how many of us got to play their exclusives because that’s what comes out in them frequently the game that comes out. The first one in the section is a PlayStation first party exclusive, or or one of their contracted exclusives. I have 176 games in my PlayStation plus catalog alone altogether I have near 400 games I can play on my PlayStation, and only maybe I counted once I think it was like 10 or 11 that I bought the rest were all downloaded from PS plus or in the free catalog it’s like 360 or 370 or something total Mmo

I have the ps5 and the essential pass but it has got up to about 80 a year which is expensive but the game pass ultimate on xbox one is actually much more better for the deals I plan on getting the series s as an upgrade of my old xbox one.
Both are good but game pass just has more games like halo, forza horizon, redfall, Batman Arkham knight, gta but ps5 has better games than the Xbox but since Xbox has more games and a lot of them are good game pass is a clear winner but when it comes to which console it doesn’t master because both are literally the same thing but just has different games.
If you want new games like Spider-Man 2 and stuff go with the PlayStation game pass if you want alot options go with Xbox
I mean XGP is more generous for adding exclusives day 1 where PS Plus only adds older titles and maybe a couple newer recent indie titles.
Also the fact that you get game pass for PC at no additional cost is great as well. Where PlayStation requires you to repurchase the game on PC
Not to mention alot of those older game pass games on Xbox have been FPS boosted to play better
Xbox Gold I got the console version of Tekken 6, while PS Plus only offers the PSP version of Tekken 6, this says everything about the quality of backwards compatibility and subscription model each has.

I'm starting to lean PS+. I got it on a sale for $80/year making it substantially cheaper and PlayStation exlcuisves, ys series, ghostrunner, Tiny Tinas are some of the best games and aren't on gamepass.

There’s still the clear winner because they provide a more inclusive, modern catalog of quality and quantity versus Game Pass has like 130 or 40 less games in the Game Pass catalog sorry 130 or 40 less games in their entire catalog including EA play, and at least 80 of those games are Xbox 360 or Xbox games so really, there’s no comparison as to which service provides better value, so what if you have to buy one or two games each year because that’s really all you’re gonna get out of your day one release as a couple of games you might wanna play average player is not gonna finish one gameunless it’s really short
As much I love the subscription based model of playing all these games, I don't look forward to the day when games WON'T be available physically and be able to buy separately.
Also, the "control of ownership" of these games are going to be less and less in the hands of the people and more in the hands of corporations where they can dictate whether to keep or remove the games in their service or some sort of other bullshit that could just ban you off their platform, which you lose full access to your games.
There’s just something special about physical media man. But unfortunately I think physical copies will be a thing of the past. I do miss the old days when physical media was more popular.
I also agree with you in regards to the control ownership of these games. Apart from that a lot of games that were amazing 10 years ago are now just cash grabs. Take Call of Duty for example.
GP is why I game a lot more on Xbox than PS.
PlayStation has all the game Gamepass does, plus way more, god of war, final fantasy 7 remake, spider-man, ghost of Tsushima, uncharted, days gone, last of us, controls vampry, I could be here all day.
Now gamepass has no big games I could think off. Apart the recent Dead space and Diablo 4 add on and arguably Starfield.

In an alternate universe where Xbox didn't screw themselves with the Xbox One's pre-launch, they'd be dominating the gaming landscape with game pass.
Personally, R6 siege, every uncharted, all the resident evil remakes, all the assasins creeds, all the farcrys, a couple classic lego games, just cause 3 and 4, gta 5, all the dead islands (apart from the newest) nier replicant, sniper ghost warrior, thief, dishonered 1/2, all the tomb raiders, all the wolfenstiens, all the dooms, all the evil withins, all the dark pictures games, all the kingdom hearts, death stranding, spider man, until dawn, and bloodborne are WAYYYY better than whatever 1 good AAA game Gamepass has that will be gone in a month (i so dearly miss rdr2 microsoft) and hundreds of indie platformers that are only there to be an impressive statistic of how many games you get. (this is coming from someone who has gamepass and ps extra so no bias just fax imo)

Yeah, at the time you were making this, it did not offer better value at all. In fact it still doesn’t today, so I’m not sure could then game pass ultimate doesn’t add anything to a console users gameplay, except that it had Xbox live gold in it. But Xbox live gold has been eliminated as has the games with gold plus live features are in Game Pass core basically what they did was rename Xbox live gold to Game Pass core give you a small chunk of the Game Pass catalog give you my multiplayer gaming, which, by the way, is only necessary for pay to play multiplayer games, free to play multiplayer games, you know like destiny or frame those don’t require Game Pass core And never required Xbox live what they did was they reshuffle their offerings to kind of match PlayStation plus current offerings, which is one gives you online multiplayer and else that compares I mean PlayStation you get your monthly games game pass core you get I think it’s up to 40 games but if you look at them there’s like two or three that you’re gonna play Where is what PlayStation will be getting three new each month usually one of those is worth playing. The second is where you get the respective catalogs. PlayStation catalog is larger and only contains PS4 and PS five games but it does cost like three dollars more I think it’s 12 bucks a month for the Game Pass consul and 15 a month for PlayStation plus extra Again other than that they’re pretty equal except there are more extra games and they’re all modern versus the Game Pass games. A good chunk of them being Xbox and Xbox 360 games, then premium and ultimate ultimate ads. Nothing for the console user because EA play is mostly Xbox 360 games unless you really want to play those old games, however it does add the streaming service so if you want to stream to your phone or maybe your PC isn’t up to playing a game you wanna stream it I mean there’s not a lot of reason on PlayStation you have to have it if you wanna play the older games because the PS2 PS PS1, PS2 and PS3 games are streamed because they’re pre-processed on proper hardware both and PC access at that level. All Microsoft did was reshuffle around so there so they had three tears almost exactly matching PlayStation three tears and then they just marketed the shit out of it and let you think that it was hyper important that you get gay pass ultimate so that you can cloud stream games and so that you get day one access well it’s all bullshit what you want unless you’re gonna play on PC or elsewhere is game pass console same with PlayStation you care about PS1 two and three games or playing anything on your PC from the PlayStation network what you want is PlayStation plus extra either way PlayStation destroys Xbox

Yes, but you’re comparing Xbox I mean Game Pass ultimate with PlayStation plus essentials so you’re comparing a $18 a month product with a $10 a month product but all of those titles you just mentioned well to be fair most of those titles you mentioned I do have through PlayStation plus but even if I don’t have them there through the PlayStation plus monthly games, they are in fact in the PlayStation plus extra catalog tier 2 of the service, you entirely ignoring tier, 2 and tier 3 of the PlayStation offering comp tier one with Game Pass ultimate, which, by the way you’re a sucker for paying for. I don’t know you may be using the PC part of it and the streaming part of it, but the EA play part is useless and it doesn’t add any Game Pass catalog. That’s all in tier 2 you really before you do. If you say so, you literally could not pay me to play Starfield I mean seriously not even minimum wage to play Starfield. There’s no way you could pay me to play it. I can play it right now because my experimentation this weekend included buying Game Pass core, then buying Game Pass Consol, then buying Game Pass ultimate so I quite literally can play it for free and I won’t touch it. It’s a Bethesda title written on creation engine we know it’s it’s a shit game badly designed. Do you want a good game to play off of Game Pass that has SpaceX exploration actually, enjoyable isn’t buggy and doesn’t send you to bullshit planets with nothing to do on them play ever verse two it has real well, not so much physics space because you can literally like turn on a diamond space I mean, but it has light between planets you literally pick a target and say travel there and fly through space to get there on the way you might see some points of interest pop up sometimes there pop up events like somebody calling for help other times. It’s just an unexplored area, but the combat is fun. The gameplay is fun and it’s not Croatian or written by Bethesda clearly Cuz it works. It just works so if you want a good space game to play that’s in game pass play ever verse two stay away from Starfield because it’s not a space game, it’s a travel game between planets but it’s not a space game is a space game no sky is a space game dangerous is a space game. Yes, exactly one game so fucking far one game Starfield and they’ve only announced four games for the entire year. I don’t know what they are or what your style is but I’m betting that there won’t be four days you won’t play all four you maybe play one or two first titles not every game that goes in the game pass first party titles And they were released to write so first and foremost a Microsoft owned property like Bethesda will have to make a new game and release it in 2024 and then if you’ve got game pass console or game pass ultimate you will get to play it on day one but also don’t be disingenuous and talk about remasters and releases. Nobody fucking counts those as a new game day one release in Game Pass. They may be there the first day they’re out but they’re not new releases. The game might’ve came out six years ago and they just remastered it. It’s not the same thing, by the way, those games come out in PlayStation plus extra the remasters I can play all the games you just talked about either through extra while I don’t have extra right now but people with extra can either play them or they probably in and like me, I’ve downloaded every one of those games through PS plus monthly gamesover the last 10 years or so that however long I’ve had I have acquired 176 titles, including God of war, set a couple of different wars last of us. It's sad that every game that releases on series x has to release on series s. Playstation doesnt have that issue of a lesser console holding it back as we get deeper into this generation

If you get cod (or whatever else game) on xb series x and ps5, they will be very similar (even though xbox has more computing power on paper). People keep saying it's better, but nobody has been able to tell me how (except personal, subjective opinions about some exclusive games, which the next person might not care about at all, or a controller that's basically a gimmick and in reality is not as ergonomic as the xbox one. In the end your option also doesn’t really matter because majority says otherwise and that’s what matters when collecting data, majority say star field sucks and spider man 2 is a great game.

I’m a ps5 fan all day long. I own both and hate the Xbox dashboard it’s so horrible to me and 90% of gamepass games are trash imo I don’t play them. I do use it for games that come to both platforms And are on gamepass to test and if they are good I’ll buy for my ps5 so it’s no money wasted. Both are nice my preference is just ps
Yeah I agree, the Xbox dashboard isn't great but Gamepass is great for games that come to both platforms. So you can save money too. I don't think PS Plus games are anything special either.
