8 year old girl donates her hair to Wig's for Kids

- Delaney had 13 inches of her long blonde hair cut off and donated to Wigs for Kids on New Years Eve 2010. The first time she donated her hair was in December of 2007 when she was 5 years old. It took 3 years for her to grow her hair long enough to donate again. Che Bella Salon's owner Louie and stylist Christina were just as excited about the cut and donation as Delaney was. This little girl is an angel... She's willing to cut her hair and give it to kids that don't have any. She is truly a wonderful spirit.

Wow this amazing! I actual said to myself and to a lot of other ppl I met that if someone in my family or close to me had cancer I would shave all my hair off. I'm only 10 so that's a huge pledge I took when I was like 5. I'm proud of this kid!

some people dont want to donate their hair, because they think that their long hair makes them look beautiful, but i think that kindness and humanity makes us look beautiful. Anyway, i respect everybody who has their amazingly long and doesnt want to donate it, its your own decision.

I think it is such an admirable thing to do. My great niece did it when she was young. If you study the Original Farmers Almanac, it will tell you when to cut your hair so it will grow faster. Yes, she is so cute with short hair! Good girl!

I remember doing this when I was 8 too. We didn't film it though. There was a girl on my street who had the longest hair I'd ever seen, and she donated it. From then on, I grew out my hair. It was 15 inches long when I cut it and donated it to Locks Of Love. I sort of knew what it was going to be used for, but being so young I didn't understand how big a difference it could make in someones life. Now, I'm so glad I did it.

I did that 2 years ago when I was 17. (My head felt so much lighter). I plan on growing it out again to donate. It was kinda fun to have a drastic change...and I really hate getting my hair cut so if I can just grow it out and cut it once every like year and a half or so that is TOTALLY FINE WITH ME!!!

this brings back memories from when i was real litle and cut my hair that was so long i had to have my mom brush it cause it was hard for me to reach it and u cut it for locks of luv but i asked them if they could give it to my best friend who had cancer in her eye and had to go through chemo and they did so when she got it she came strait to my house wearing it and i was so happy for her

Yeah that's what I was thinking. It's rather emotional getting your hair cut after you have grown it for so long. I had to get my hair cut when I was younger because I get migraines from the weight of my hair, and I threw a wobbly the first time when I saw the hair drop to the ground. I had grown it for so long and I loved brushing it. I wish I had given it to charity. With the thickness of my hair I could have helped several people.
