Edited clip of Tyra banks show guest who had her supposed first haircut, she was 23. If I was marrying her I would at least want it in the wedding, and then some...
***** I remember when Sasha Grey went on here. She said they purposely dressed her in pretty pink clothes and did her hair and makeup like a 15 year old just to make it all more shocking Xx
...Are you not watching the video? There are multiple comments made upon individuals of varrying genders that ask, "When are you going to get a 'real' hairstyle," or, "Why aren't you donating your hair? There are other people in need," or, "You look so old with hair that long. No man's going to date you looking like your grandma." There's a lot of critiquing against long hair, a majority of it unjustified and bigoted.
Yes I NEED to braid that hair! I wonder if she walked around with it hanging down like that, or if she put it up. Also, if she did braid it, how long would it take?
She didn't look at all 40 to me. If anything she looked younger. People shouldn't judge others' ages from the length of their hair. Some people her age who have short hair can look older, too.
That isn't true. Everyone has a regional accent! Many young people have regional accents. I have heard them. There is no "standard" American accent. So that has nothing to do with it. I think its how she was dressed.
Anyone who speaks has an accent. Its just that some people's accents are more subtle than others . You don't have a good ear for accents, so to you everyone sounds the same- but if you listened closely enough you could hear the subtle differences. I could tell where a news anchor is from if I listened carefully enough. . Anyways, they are judging the girl on her appearance, not her accent.
James Bond The "standard" American IS a regional accent. It is a hybrid of the Kansas/California accents. Parts of Kansas and California. But it too, is an accent. The girl in the video was not judged older because of her accent. It was probably because how she was dressed. I have studied this because in high school I did a speech on regional American English and the faux notion of a non-accented American. In fact linguists say that regional accents are actually getting stronger, not weaker across America. I can still tell where someone is from even if they speak so-called "Standard American" because there are subtle differences. Even if someone learns their English from the TV and nothing else, we speak as the people around us speak and are influenced. If someone grows up in New York city and speaks "standard" you can still tell they are from New York because that influence will always be there with them. No one can remove their regional accent completely. I have heard many Actors adopt "standard American" and they still have their natural accents in the background. I am an actor as well. I have been in plays/film. What I notice is when people from different parts of the country adopt the "standard American", you can still hear their real accent in the background. Basically the standard American accent comes from the American Midwest- the heartland. Its a very flat, nasal accent that people like to think is "proper" Its nonsense.
Its everywhere because it spread from its regional location. The Southern accents are not dying. They are changing, but not dying. Regional accents are stronger today . Because in the past, Americans spoke more the same than they do now! You seem to know very little about what linguists are saying. Look up Northern City vowel shifts. This is still predominant. The 'General American" spread because it was predominant on TV. The Southern drawl is not because of lack of education. It was a copy of upper class 18th Century London speech. I bet you have an accent, and think yours is "Standard American". I thought mine was too, but its really not.
James Bond Believe it or not, there is more regional difference today. Yes, more people speak the General American accent (which is horrid, btw), but there is still more a gap. In the old days, most Americans spoke differently too, but it wasn't as diverse as you might think. I know because my grandparents and how they sounded . They had Southern accents, but they didn't sound terribly different than say, someone with a Midwestern accent or drawl or someone from the "standard broadcasting" of their Era. . They sounded like the old 1940s movies, but with a slight southern drawl to their voices. It was more of a subtle difference. Yet today, linguists are saying there is more difference and more new variants of accents emerging. Largely due to influx of non-English speaking immigrants and such.
Tolani Akin I know, right! If the girl wants to cut her hair, that's all well and good, but Tyra seemed like she was being kind of criticizing and rude towards her and almost pressuring her to get her hair cut by saying it made her look older. If the girl likes her hair that long she should keep it!
Aleiaanimallover368 she came to Tyra for help and that's what she's going to get she said that her hair makes her seem older and that she wants it gone of course she's going be emotional from having it for so long and Tyra gives that little pushing that she needed.
I completely understand the feeling of anxiety when thinking of cutting your hair. I have always had long hair down to the middle of my back and cannot dream of cutting it short! It becomes a part of your identity...
fatma yildiz Don't compare yourself to others. I'll bet your hair would look great long. When you grow out from short, of course it looks thin at first, b/c it takes time for the hair from the top to join the rest at bob length. If you want it, be PATIENT! LOL
fatma yildiz Maybe you are in that tiny percentage of women who can't grow attractive long hair; I don't know. All I do know is that I've talked to many women who believed that about themselves, and many of them had been erroneously sold that idea. Anyway, all the best to you, Fatma!
I totally agree,or just taking it to butt length would have been a massive change for her but she would still have had mega long hair by anyone's standard
I dont like this at all! It's kind of traumatic for this girl...the shouldn't cut her hair that short! Even Tyra's is longer now. My hair reaches my waist and I would've cryed, too...
"Do you want to look how old you are and who you are?" the lady asked her. That IS her! If she grew it for 23 years and is sad & scared to cut it, why did she? You shouldn't try to change who you are! If she wants to, she definitely should, but she seems kind of reluctant to get it cut... just sayin' :/ :)
Me being Tyra, seeing her struggle, I would've just kept it about at her butt and gave some layers. Just so she didn't feel so mach change but still look beautiful.
To dude calm down. She said it herself that she wanted to do it. She wanted to look younger. She wanted to look her age. She was scared because its change. Change is scary. No matter how big or small the change is there will always be even the slightest feeling of guilt or doubt or even sometimes regret. But after that change you get used to it and comfortable with it and that change becomes a day to day thing that you love. I know how it looks in the video. But she wanted to. She wanted to cut her hair and I'm sure she's happy that she did because its actually healthy to cut your hair. Her hair was probably mostly "dead".
i hate when someone gets they're hair cut and people say: aw why did you cut it? it was so long!: are you trying to guilt them?! that's so rude especially when its already done! don't make them regret it!
I had the world's worst haircut once. So here I am, crying in the mirror every time I saw my hair, and people were asking me, " My god, your hair was so nice. Why did you cut it?" Thanks! :/
Fr, that's way too short, plus to fix it they will have to cut it shorter. If they were going to cut her hair they could've at least had professional stylist cut and style it for her
The hypocrisy and blatant bullying in this (and all the audience clapping like drones) is astonishing. I wonder if anyone asked Tyra Banks about cutting off all that fake, blonde weave she's wearing! Banks must have been one of those vicious girls in high school and was lucky enough to find a bunch of producers with the same mentality to put her in the spotlight and pay her for it. Poor girl. Mean and awful!
Why does every male hair stylist feel a woman needs short hair? What are they Samson? Yes she needed to go shorter but not so extreme. She would have been just as beautiful with beach waves just below her shoulders. I worked in a salon for several years myself, so highlights would have been great too. Just to brighten up her look and let go of that brown a little. She's a beautiful girl, just needs to listen to a female stylist, or a man that is more sensitive to her needs and looks instead of trying to shock the audience.
Because most are homosexual men, and thus they try to make every WOMAN look like a man. Look at the ENTIRE fashion industry- women are told to be super skinny, taking away all of their beautiful, womanly curves to look BOYISH.
+Arlene S its more bc its modern fashion , i know some women think super long hair is pretty and good looking but it honestly looks like seaweed on your hair , not to be rude like you do you if YOU like it . Just saying , and like that why you dont see models with long hair
Victoria's Secret models tend to have longer hair. The avant garde type fashion is about art and shock and uniqueness. The more glamorous side encourages women to look feminine and excentuate female traits like long hair, curves, etc. Obviously if your hair is very thin and ill-looking then keeping it short might be better. If you still have hair like Nigella Lawson at 40, 50+ then why chop it all off? Each to their own.
Yep, I wasn't referring to hair as long as the lady in this video. I've never met anyone in real life with hair that long. I'd be scared of it ripping out if I sat on it! There's long and then there's loooooooong!
true true she looks older but not that old if u hive her a proper makeover she would look better that tyra even with hair taller than her well to the length of her ankle samething
+Ashley Fair Just give her nicer clothes, maybe trim and layer her hair so it wasn't so wispy and uneven and she'd look cute as a button. There's absolutely noo need to get rid of your hair, especially when it's well taken care of. Long =/= dirty :/
I feel like she looks older with a bob.. She looks like a middle aged mom , they should've cut her hair but at least have her the decision of how long it should've been. They should have cut it maybe halfway down her back and if she wanted it shorter they hair dresser could've cut it shorter
Ouch. I feel her pain. I had my hair even with my bum and I got it cut shoulder length. I was actually crying when I felt the "snip snip snip." I'm so glad that it wasn't in front of an audience. It really is just too much of an emotional experience to lose all of your hair like that in front of a giant audience.
I cried too when my 7 year long hair was cut short as hell. I relate to her so much. Like she said, it's like a security blanket. To me, my long hair is a shield. Few years later, I have my shield again :) I hope she felt better feeling younger though.
ClaryHerondale theMCRphan It's the weird part of CZcams. Run while you still can, we're trapped here and we can never ever leave again! RUN I TELL YOU RUN!!!
It's not rude she doesn't look 23 even she said It herself yeah they shouldn't have laughed but the shock was expected she looks and dresses like an older women.
I think what they did to this lovely girl was just cruel. Women can be so mean to other women if they dress or wear their hair differently. This was so sad.
Long hair doesn't mean you look older, it actually makes you look younger in my opinion. And I think it's more attractive and beautiful. And I think that was way too short. What about at least waist length? But if she was having long hair for the reason that she was holding onto her insecurities, then I can understand why they cut it short.
I hadn't cut my hair since 12 and I'm 25. My hair touches my ass and it is my pride and glory. I wash it three times a week and always take a large rat(my hair) out the drain. Most disgusting part. And yes, I'm a hippie.
I really wonder how the girl is today. I doubt this wasn't traumatizing to her. It's so unfair to blame the hair while different clothes could have made a massive difference. And braid the hair or something to make a young but unique look. This makes me cringe so much. I have seen the result. The bob was ugly and made her way older.
I remember one of my favorite teachers in High school asked how old the class thought she was. Everyone said 43-46...she was 27. She looked like she wanted to cry, I felt so bad.
All the guys I have been friends with over the years all tell me they love long hair. And they don't date girls with short hair. Now I think short hair can be cute on the right person, but I think her hair was pretty and she just needed to cut it below her bottom. Hair and makeup and clothes is all she needed.
This was wrong. The poor girl only did it because of what the public and her own FIANCE says. He should marry her for hER and not change her to what he prefers. She was pressured, insulted. Maybe tyra should butt out too because at least the girl had REAL hair.
Trya actually doesn't have really short hair under her wigs, her natural hair is a few inches past her shoulders. She did a segment on her show about that a few years ago. Don't assume someone's hair is short just because they wear wigs or weaves. Some woman like the versatility of weaves or wigs. Just put it on and go. Cut it, dye it, curl or straighten it & you don't even have to damage your own hair while you grow it. The girl came on the show herself saying she wanted something different, even though she was nervous. America didn't force her to go on the show or to change, she wanted too. She put herself out there & got other people's opinions. That's what happens when you go on national television! I personally think it does make her look older, not 40, but older. I've seen woman & girls with long hair & it looks beautiful on them. It's thick, lush, & it has movement. However, I don't really think it does anything for her. Dirty is a harsh word for the guy to say, but it does look a bit scraggly & unkempt. Instead of proudly displaying it & making it work for her, it seems like even though she is displaying it it does the opposite, & she just hides behind it. I don't personally think they should have cut it into a bob, that is just so drastic. They could have easily cut a little more than half of it off, gave her some nice layers & she would have been good to go, but saying Trya is jealous or a bully for the lady's own decision is ridiculous. Honesty is not jealousy. Sometimes honesty hurts, but it doesn't make someone a bully. It's just hair, she can grow it back. Calm yourselves people. smh
I feel as though Tyra was so manipulative towards Mary. She couldn't have her not cut her hair because then it would defeat the whole purpose of her going on the show.
My hair was pretty long, I'm a dude and not much people have long hair were I live so when I got it cut I just felt the same as everyone else which is quite annoying!
Maybe she looked older because of that dowdy outfit they forced her to wear? I'm willing to wager that had she been wearing a t-shirt and jeans or something, they wouldn't have assumed her age like that. Shows like this are so damn trashy.
nawwww that was sad.. it was like watching a bully whispering in that young girls ear peer pressuring her to cut her hair in order to fit into a fashion society.. =/ that girl was humiliated on national TV. i say "that girl is beautiful in every way..with or without long hair. =) xo
I hate this ! She is crying!! If she feels most happy with her hair then no man, model, professional stylist, Etc should tell her different. And she calls it fun. Why not help get look and feel younger not chop 23 years worth of hair off. I hateeeeee this
Lauren Thompson You're completely right. They purposely shamed her as entertainment. Plus they could have cut it to about boob length and cut a few layers up front around her face...then added some highlights. They could have still left it medium long, they only chopped it short for the shock value.
Ohhhh noooooo !!!! I loved her hair long. I absolutely adore long hair !!!!! Wish mine were that long , I just cried watching this..... Wow. Ohmygoshh. I can't get over it. I just can't .... Exactly what she said about her hair being a 'security blanket' that's totally how I feel. However , my hair isn't quite that long , But mine is halfway down my back !
My hair is right above my bottom and people at my school are like 'when are you going to cut your hair?' I'm like 'no' and I get it trimmed on the very ends is all but tye girls in my chorus class mess with each others hair and ask me if they can do my hair I'm like 'nah' I alwayz wear a headband and hair tie but not anymore and my friends really want to do my hair I have to scold them when they try to.
***** I dont see it as jealous, people have different opinions and some like short hair better. I have a friend who's hair is SO long I always tell her to get a hair cut because she looks so boring with long straight hair.
***** I also have hair past my waist. I so want to cut it cz em bored of it, but then i don't know what to do if i regret after cutting. Also my mom says that I've got lovely hair and wouldn't let me cut it.
the reason they tell us we will look younger with short hair is to get us in the salons on a regular basis (MONEY) Most of us look younger with longer hair & I am living proof of it People usually think I'm twelve to fifteen years younger then I am
Maybe if they didn't put her in that Grandma looking dress people wouldn't think she was that old.
***** I remember when Sasha Grey went on here. She said they purposely dressed her in pretty pink clothes and did her hair and makeup like a 15 year old just to make it all more shocking Xx
Bonnie Fleur but she was like 17 dude
Okay I'm done laughing
😂😂😭
She doesn't look old because of her hair it's because she's dressed in something my grandma would wear to church.
She dreesed like she that possessed girl from that movie
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
true😁
*For long and healthy hair, try ArganRain Hair Care Products with its Argan Oil extract.*
Exactly !!
How about we take Tyra's wig off
straight up savage
She has long hair though 😂
lool
Safiyah Weaver YAAAAS
Safiyah Weaver 😂😂😂😂😂😂
This poor woman! They're treating her like a circus freak, taking no account of her emotions...I just hope they donated the hair to charity!
Exactly
If you watched till the end you would know they donated it to locks of love.
Sophie Colley oh ok well that's good at least
No, locks of love is not good.
Cinder Roxy why?
I can't stand when society shames long hair. Hair is hair, and a person is allowed to wear what they have as they please. This is pathetic.
So true!
I agree but she wanted a change
Vlad Masters since when has society shamed long hair? if anything they shame short hair
...Are you not watching the video? It gets caught in things
you can obviously tell she didn't want it that short...
Exactly, cut a bit off and then go from there
Kellye Brown should have been a bit longer
Kellye Brown ikr :/
I want to braid it. Also she doesn't look 40, even in bad quality
I was thinking that too!!
They probably think that because they think it may have taken a long time to grow out
+omgitsanna or the show might be rigged, because of the over-reacting of the audience when they saw that she was 23
Yes I NEED to braid that hair! I wonder if she walked around with it hanging down like that, or if she put it up. Also, if she did braid it, how long would it take?
Willow Gritzmaker that's what I thought put it in braids and a little color would be great. Also get rid of the Matronly Segundo dress.
she doesnt look older because of the hair, she looks older because her outfit is HORRIBLE, omg, who dresses like that?
IM DYING
lol
rocio exactly
she dresses like Samara
rocio This is long ago

She is ;P

Like samara Morgan from the ring 😂
Exactly!
Still none of your business
Part of it is the hair. I am a guy with long hair and I would never let my hair looks so bad.
she just needed to change her clothing style not her hair😑
i agree🖒 long hair is beaitiful
Shine Bright Like a Diamond I've never cut my hair and I'm 14 I don't look old and dirty
RS ikr

For me,my bangs have become part of my identity.Im also trying to get my hair longer.
this makes me so angry that they humiliated her. and if it was her first time cutting her hair then they should've taken baby steps.
She signed up for this
You cant donate the hair if its cut into small pieces, you need one long length
Grace Harreld i agree it was rather brutal.
yes they cut way too much off! poor girl
What the fuck? WHY??? She could have had the most beautiful layered long hair ever why the hell did they do that???
did you watch the whole video? she's donating the hair to people who need it....(usually cancer patients)
oh then i get it
I totally agree,or just taking it to butt length would have been a massive change for her but she would still have had mega long hair by anyone's standard
but it wouldn't have been as dramatic, and this is a tv show for out entertainment after all. Besides, hair does grow back.
yeah it was messed up that they cut it that short
I dont like this at all! It's kind of traumatic for this girl...the shouldn't cut her hair that short! Even Tyra's is longer now. My hair reaches my waist and I would've cryed, too...
Traumatic? It's not like she watched her sister get stabbed right in front of her or something. Plus, she wanted her hair to be cut.
That's why I said KIND OF
+Andrea Stephens its like cutting a part of you off...
Dannyelle Himawari I cut a part of me off yesterday then haha
they should have definitely left her hair longer. waist maybe.
She does not look old. They should have left it waist length with long layers.
Tyra didn't even ask her if she wants to cut her hair..instead she asks if she wants to continue looking that old :p manipulative move
I'm pretty sure she wouldn't have been there if she didn't want to cut her hair...
I doubt she would of gone on the show if she wasn't planning on cutting her hair .
At the beginning of the video she said herself that she wants to cut her hair lol
Doesn't look like she wanted to cut her hair. Not really.
She's so pretty.
Shoulda gotta a trim not a bob cut.
Ikr
Or cut it to the middle of her back and fixed the bangs
Pinky andthebrain Agree. What they did was cruel and ridiculously extreme.
A three inch trim
lillian johnson Agreed! What a waste.
"Do you want to look how old you are and who you are?" the lady asked her. That IS her! If she grew it for 23 years and is sad & scared to cut it, why did she? yeah i had something similar. me and my twin got Mohawks.....and my mom can't cut hair....
I had the world's worst haircut once. So here I am, crying in the mirror every time I saw my hair, and people were asking me, " My god, your hair was so nice. Why did you cut it?" Thanks! :/
Whirly Girl
Aw ;-; *huggles* it'll be okay V_V
because you hair grows 6 inches a year ^_^
Lol!! It grew out, tg, but for about 6 weeks I looked like Mrs. Brady!
I wish they would have left it longer and just trimmed it up a bit.
Fr, that's way too short, plus to fix it they will have to cut it shorter. If they were going to cut her hair they could've at least had professional stylist cut and style it for her
"aaaaahhhh'... 'ooohhhh'.... the audience is the most ridiculous part
2:54 tyra holding that hair like damn this could be my next weave!
Tyra probably took that hair and got it made into a weave. She did not have to cut that girls hair into a damn bob!
"First hair cut!" ... Has bangs*...
Omg I just realized I'm dead 😂
I feel like they kinda shamed her for having long hair.
The hypocrisy and blatant bullying in this (and all the audience clapping like drones) is astonishing. I wonder if anyone asked Tyra Banks about cutting off all that fake, blonde weave she's wearing!
BritBit vs models have hair beneath the shoulders noy beneath the ankles lol
Yep, I wasn't referring to hair as long as the lady in this video. I've never met anyone in real life with hair that long. I'd be scared of it ripping out if I sat on it! There's long and then there's loooooooong!
Tyra was all too happy to cut that woman hair even though the woman was in tears and clearly uncomfortable......... Tyra is a hater.
true true she looks older but not that old if u hive her a proper makeover she would look better that tyra even with hair taller than her well to the length of her ankle samething
She DID want to cut her hair, she said she was just scared. Otherwise she wouldn't have gone on the show to start with. -_____-
they could have at least left it to her chest...
They should have cut it on the mid-back length. That would be beautiful
i wasn't shocked by her ages ...
Ouch. I feel her pain. I had my hair even with my bum and I got it cut shoulder length. I was actually crying when I felt the "snip snip snip." I'm so glad that it wasn't in front of an audience. It really is just too much of an emotional experience to lose all of your hair like that in front of a giant audience.
She cut her hair to look like 'them' while they go ahead to put hair extensions, how ironic.
Why do people always think that older women should have short hair? Couldn't they just cut it a bit under her shoulders?
hello fellow army 😝
sebootylicious world ayyy ARMY >-
Army ❤️
Exactly
I’m asking myself the same thing
omg they didn't need it to be THAT short😨😰😰😰
Robyn Hinds yea turned it into a very short Bob later 😳😢😣😣😣😣 it's awful
Robyn Hinds it's just hair, get over yourself 🙄
Joappse Hair that takes YEARS to grow
Mister Chubz and? At the end of the day it's still just hair
Joanna W. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
I cried too when my 7 year long hair was cut short as hell.
I relate to her so much. Like she said, it's like a security blanket.
To me, my long hair is a shield. Few years later, I have my shield again :) I hope she felt better feeling younger though.
she has my dream hair! its so gorgeous and majestic
it's like cutting part of her life.
the hell you mean she look 40 at most she be looking 28
I know! 40?! Wtf are people thinking lol...
I don't know how the hell I got here from watching Emma Blackery's videos.
ClaryHerondale theMCRphan It's the weird part of CZcams. Run while you still can, we're trapped here and we can never ever leave again!
RUN I TELL YOU RUN!!!
ItsRobinWhoTalks Run forrest run!!!! Imao
emma blackery is the bomb. but I get why you got here because emma shaved her hair for a charity I think
avery rae facebook brought me here I jist started watching make overs
thats sad they want it bob cute because they want her hair, she should should cut it only like down to waist
If she didn't want to cut it they shouldn't have made her. Poor girl.
She said "donate it to.my weave fund "lmaaooo to funny tyra
audience lauging and mocking the the first that's 23, is rude.. shame production and Tyra
It looked nice when it was tied back. No need to cut it.
that coment goes so well with your pic
Long hair doesn't mean you look older, it actually makes you look younger in my opinion. And I think it's more attractive and beautiful. And I think that was way too short. What about at least waist length? But if she was having long hair for the reason that she was holding onto her insecurities, then I can understand why they cut it short.
I don't think she looks 40!!! Long hair always makes you look younger! Maybe a trim would have been all that was needed.
I would never let them cut my hair that short
I say this because my hair is short
Tyra just came off very pushy.
I hadn't cut my hair since 12 and I'm 25. My hair touches my ass and it is my pride and glory. I wash it three times a week and always take a large rat(my hair) out the drain. Most disgusting part. And yes, I'm a hippie.
I love this comment!
Really happy for you but i'd recommend to trim it once in a while... it helps your hair stay strong and it makes it grow faster
I do. Once every couple months. Thanks!
I have my hair at my mid thigh and I love it.
nice.
she doesn't have to look like everybody else . she does not need there approval
Tyra prolly wanted that hair 😂
M A R V I N C A S I N O she wanted to make a weave out of it
I really wonder how the girl is today.
Tyra is so condescending smh
She looks like Pensatucky.
Abbye Erickson Ikr I was thinking that too.
LOL!!!
Omg same
I was thinking that too😂
omg
My first Tyra Banks episode. Still my fave
She is clearly experiencing an anxiety attack here. Her breathing becomes very obviously changed as Tyra steps towards her with scissors.
Maybe it's the resolution but she doesn't look 40 to me.
Honestly I'd keep all that hair... Besides her clothes make her look old.
Her hair looked unkept. So it needed to get cut but they should've kept it long. And maybe fix her bangs.
How old is Tyra with that long hair of hers? Very bizarre and ironic. This young woman didn't need to get a bob.
AbsalomAbsalom3 The problem here is that Tyra Banks hair is not real. It is a hair weave."
That is how I feel...when I was about to get a haircut...my old hair length is pass my butt...
Same! Now its at right below my chest
Same my is just at my shoulders now and it used to be past my butt
Yeah me too haha
All the guys I have been friends with over the years all tell me they love long hair. And they don't date girls with short hair. Now I think short hair can be cute on the right person, but I think her hair was pretty and she just needed to cut it below her bottom. Hair and makeup and clothes is all she needed.
in all reality all she needed was a trim, the hair was just very uneven. it didn't need to be that drastically short all at once.
tyra jealous she cant get hair that long lmao jk
This was wrong. The poor girl only did it because of what the public and her own FIANCE says. He should marry her for hER and not change her to what he prefers. She was pressured, insulted. Maybe tyra should butt out too because at least the girl had REAL hair.
I would put the rest of the hair on the back of my pants and pretend its a tail.
She is so brave!
SHE DOESNT EVEN LOOK LIKE A OLD UGH THIS MAKES ME MAD
Calm yourselves people. smh
that face though 1:07
She's so pretty! And her hair looks a lot healthier after the cut. I just hope she can enjoy how short it is now compared to what she had.
I feel as though Tyra was so manipulative towards Mary. She couldn't have her not cut her hair because then it would defeat the whole purpose of her going on the show.
Wooooooooooooooooooow
My hair was pretty long, I'm a dude and not much people have long hair were I live so when I got it cut I just felt the same as everyone else which is quite annoying!
BMTH ❤
BMTH
Maybe she looked older because of that dowdy outfit they forced her to wear? I'm willing to wager that had she been wearing a t-shirt and jeans or something, they wouldn't have assumed her age like that. Shows like this are so damn trashy.
tyra was jelous cuz she cant grow hair . and she cut it short
+Beauty Sasquatch oh my lord calm down
Elisa Ramirez lmao..Everyone can grow hair 😒
Alee_Sunflower Art not if your bald
Not true lol Tyra's real hair is long
i love the long hair.... just braid it beautifully
nawwww that was sad.. it was like watching a bully whispering in that young girls ear peer pressuring her to cut her hair in order to fit into a fashion society.. =/ that girl was humiliated on national TV. i say "that girl is beautiful in every way..with or without long hair. =) xo
I think it's kinda extreme to have cut it so short, she's used to long hair.. maybe a medium length would have been a lot better to start with.
if anything she looked older with her new hair cut
I hate this ! She is crying!! If she feels most happy with her hair then no man, model, professional stylist, Etc should tell her different. And she calls it fun. Why not help get look and feel younger not chop 23 years worth of hair off. I hateeeeee this
+Lauren Thompson She simply signed up, to the show herself.
Signe Crym I understand, but they didn't have to shame her
Lauren Thompson You're completely right. They purposely shamed her as entertainment. Plus they could have cut it to about boob length and cut a few layers up front around her face...then added some highlights. They could have still left it medium long, they only chopped it short for the shock value.
Idk why people are complaining saying that she got pressured to cut her hair. She didn't have to go on Tyra's show in the first place.
I think it was more her way of dressing than her actual hair that made her appear older
I have no Idea how I got here😂 I was watching Strawburry17!
mabye because you clicked on it?
I absolutely love the audience's reactions
I don't think it had to be cut that short. most of the young girls where i live keep their hair at about at their waist, and they look pretty jovial.
i guessed at first she was in her 20's, i dont see how they thought she was 40
Ohhhh noooooo !!!!
OMG I would be so scared! Really glad they donated it... but I NEED to see how it looked after it was fully cut.
I know how you feel
Mine was that length but I recently got it cut honestly don't regret it it is a lot easier to manage
Once, a girl in my gym class just randomly started stroking me hair because she said it looked soft.
It was, but still.
*****
I dont see it as jealous, people have different opinions and some like short hair better.
I have a friend who's hair is SO long I always tell her to get a hair cut because she looks so boring with long straight hair.
*****
I also have hair past my waist. I so want to cut it cz em bored of it, but then i don't know what to do if i regret after cutting.
Also my mom says that I've got lovely hair and wouldn't let me cut it.
This video should not appear in a channel named "beauty of women with long hair".
😭😭NOOOOO HER BEAUTIFUL HAIRRR
That kiss right before the cut was so cute
I would never cut my hair I think long hair makes you look younger.
the reason they tell us we will look younger with short hair is to get us in the salons on a regular basis (MONEY) Most of us look younger with longer hair & I am living proof of it People usually think I'm twelve to fifteen years younger then I am
