Saw a 750 if regular Ancient Age for $11 on the shelf and figured "what the hell". To me, it tastes ok, and pretty good for the price. It has a simple, thin, corn sweetness, but I didn't detect any "sour" or "yeasty" notes. There's nothing offensive about it IMO. It's competitive with sub-$15 bottles. I'm Not saying it's amazing, or that it competes with WT101 or EVbib. It doesn't. But it's drinkable and i'd take it over most Beam products under $25.
AAA10 is $14.99 for 1L in OH. I think it is just fine.
WT101 unless I need to go cheaper than that. Evan Williams BiB is always a good choice along with JTS Brown and TW Samuals
Yea I haven't found anything better for the price than Even Williams bib for the price. In fact it has beat out most of the stuff under $50 for me
Look on the neck it should say 36 months ! Its still pretty good I actually finished a couple of handles in my boone county barrels for 3 months turned out great .
The old school bottles that didn't say at least 36 months on them are anywhere between 4-6 years old

I have not seen one in awhile.. I think Buffalo Trace is not producing it anymore.

What are you tasting when you describe something as "bright" or "shiny"?
Hahaha I've never realized how dumb it was until being asked that. I think for us it's usually younger bourbons have this. It's shiny like a new penny, you can tell it's young, but sometimes it doesn't have the over bearing young flavors. For some odd reason it just makes sense when we day it to each other but explaining it is apparently hard.
When I say shiny I usually mean green grass, grainy, young. -Dan

I have heard of straining sterno through bread but never heard of straining Ancient Ancient Age 10 Stars through a fake mustache. That 10 star is kinda misleading and implying 10 years aged and glad you have a back-up bottle. So the Ancient Age needs kindalike 10 stars of "aging". Cheers.

Best budget American whiskey is Mellow Corn which is around $10 per 750ml, best budget Blended Scotch is Teacher's Highland Cream which is about the same price.
