Thrifty Whiskey Review Rules.
1. We personally purchased or are able on any given day walk into our local store and purchase the bottle for under $30 before tax. All purchases must be able to be done by any regular consumer.
2. Two of our reviewers are always blind. This is so that brand and price will not have an effect on their judgment of the whiskey. (Josh sometimes has to pour the spirit and host, so he is not always drinking blind.)

My father drank this and I do too to this day primarily due to its cost. I drink it in a frosted glass, 4 ice cubes with an ice-cold water mixer. Yes, give it a minute to rest, but putting the chill to it makes it sing. It reminds me of my Dad, and I like that.
I just tried Ancient Age for the first time today. I was very suprised by it. For the price, its definately going on my list of budget bourbons.
Ancient Age is one of my favorite budgets, it's amazing!
Just got my first bottle of Ancient age. I'm pleasantly surprised. I haven't tried benchmark yet. If I see a bottle of Ancient Age 90 I'll buy it. Great value.
I finally finished a bottle of Old Tub(not doing that one again) and started Ancient Age. Talk about a change. What an easy Summer sipper.
I have kept this one around.. Great value and great taste.

Best budget bourbon avalible. Keep it on the "DL" , Buffalo Trace will jack up the price! LOL.
A.A.!!My favorite! I have tried every top shelf bourbon and everything in-between.....and A.A. is the best flavor for me!

I agree the flavor is good. I did a taste test with people that doubted the quality and flavor because the cost was 25$ for 1.75 Liter! Blind taste test 3 outta 4 people choose AA over Makers Mark
Interesting these ratings up against the AAA10 video. Be interesting to see both in a blind together. Maybe some benchmark editions to make it up to 4.
Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star is awesome! You guys should try that.
We want to! PA is awful when it comes to having a wide selection. At Christmas when I go visit my folks in Ohio I will be on the hunt for it.
This is a fine comfortable sipping bourbon. I enjoy this easy drinking dram. But, It may not be found in every store.
Thanks guys! I've always passed this one over. I'll have to give this a try. I'll drop some toasted oak cubes in it and see what that does for the color and taste.

@@ThriftyWhiskey I've done this with EW 1783 and Ezra Brooks 90. The improvement was astounding. It really smoothes out the whisky. My son did it with Smoky Mountain Moonshine and made it really drinkable.
Wow. This bourbon, for whatever reason, I have always considered to be cheap swill. After your review I guess I will have to try it. For $10, why not?!
Keep in mind, as we said at the end, if you are looking for bourbon flavors, you may be disappointed. This is on the lighter side of things.

No, if you get the baby, you have to buy the next cake. I like Ancient Age and Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star (90 proof). Ancient Age Blended is only "so-so".
Yeah, we have no plans to review "blended whiskey" at this time. Looking forward to trying Ancient Ancient Age once we can get this.
Now if you blind reviewed Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star you would be very surprised

Kings cake reminds us of the wise men searching for Jesus. My priest says to eat an entire kings cake every day during Mardi Gras leading into lent. 😂 some bakeries make them all year round down here in Louisiana
Oh and whoever finds the baby has to buy the next kings cake.

Kings cake is a Rip off of the Mexican Rosca. Same concept with the baby Jesus but it’s a Mexican pastry.

You Yankees messed up King Cake’s description…there is no Jesus in the cake it is just a generic baby and whoever gets the baby has to buy the next king cake…no luck involved lol
