- Let's talk about more rules! By popular request, I'll go over everything I know about Attacks of Opportunity in Arkham Horror the Card Game!
Daniel's voice is so soothing. Daniel could start reading sanity-blasting filth from von Junzt's Unaussprechlichen Kulten and instead of running away in horror I'd be like "read harder to me Daniel."

Another clarification question: where do "Events" fit in your flowchart? If I look at Emergency Aid, it doesn't say anything about "Take an ... action." It just tells you to Heal. But I would have assumed it provoked an AoO.
Playing events from your hand normally is considered taking a "play action". This gets circumvented with the card Farsight, but the basic case is that events are play actions just like playing assets are. Of course if they're Fast, then no action!
So -- they fit in the flowchart in the part where you have to figure out what type of action you are taking. If you're playing Dynamite Blast, it's a Play action, and you would provoke AoOs. If you are playing Spectral Razor, it is both a Fight action and a Play action. Because it's a Fight action, no AoO.
So the "Take a" wording only becomes necessary when dealing with Fast abilities, if I understand correctly.
I would amend that to "only becomes necessary when dealing with abilities that don't already have an action cost", since I'd only use the term "Fast" when it appears on a cards specifically as a Keyword.
Clean Sneak is a fast card. But, are you allowed to take any of the 4 options without trigger AOO?
The card calls them options and not actions. So i should be fine choosing 2 resources, 1 clue or 1 card if i want. I don't know what that symbol before the 4 options means.
If it's not allowed i would gladly have some backup information to why not. But, this is the way i will play this card. As it is a fast card and doesn't tell you to take/give you an action.

Hello - I have a question about the level 0 card backstab. Does it provoke an AoO? I'm playing a card from my hand (action 1), and then playing the "fight" action on the card (action 2).
No attack of opportunity. It's one action, and it has the "fight" type, so it won't provoke.

Am I correct in interpreting the rules, if I'm playing Ursula and I am currently engaged with 3 enemies which are ready; I perform a bow fight action against one of them, pulling the Elder Sign, triggering her "may move to a connecting location" effect, after all skills test results are done, that is he able to move, dragging 2 or 3 enemies with me, with no AoO? Thanks
As long as you're not taking/spending an action, no AoO. Ursula's elder sign just moves her, no action, so you're good.
@@Quick_Learner This can get real fun if she running around with Gene Beauregard, fearless explorer, booting even unengaged monsters from being attached to Ursula.
So does the "Fast" keyword affect anything? I find it very confusing that Shortcut doesn't provoke an attack, just because it "Moves the investigator", but another Fast card that says "Take a move action" does. And why does Red Clock's Move action not provoke an attack? Is it simply because Move is not boldfaced, unlike the Sled Dogs?

Yes, it is a little confusing! As I said, the only thing you need to look for is the "take an action" language. "Fast" keywords never count as taking an action. Red Clock and Shortcut just tell you to move, but not to take any actions -- Red Clock is not a move action at all. Think of "move to a connecting location" as an effect of a normal "move action", but Red Clock and Shortcut just circumvent any actions and tell you to just do the effect. The boldfaced designators are a bit of a red herring; don't forget that the movement on Sled Dogs is an Activate action as well, so it would provoke an attack of opportunity one way or another.
One thing I've noticed -- a lot of players refer to some things as "fast actions", like free triggered abilities (or colloquially the lighting bolts). The rulebook does not refer to anything as "fast actions" -- on the contrary, Fast abilities are not actions at all!

What's your question? If any of these provoke an attack of opportunity? Taking an engage *action* will always provoke an attack of opportunity if you yourself are engaged with one or more enemies, no matter who or what you end up engaging.

No, the attack of opportunity happens before the effect of the action you are taking. The same thing is true if you were to move into a location with an (unengaged) enemy -- you do not take an attack of opportunity from that newly engaged enemy.
