Results of pruning the hedge

I first cut out all the dead material that was close to the ground and shaded out by the growth on top of the plants. after I started to cut back some of the ground of the two more vigorous rhododendrons to give the purple rhododendron a chance to recover. I then lifted up the spruce to allow light to the bedroom windows by cutting off the lower branches. After that I thinned out the cedar and the Rhododendrons a bit. Last I took my Chainsaw and cut down the small deciduous trees. Now that I can see the structure of the trees I may come back at a later date to shape the trees and bushes.
