I got my garlic scapes into the kitchen. Now it's time to process. The tips of the scapes where the flowers from are a bit harder so I plan to dehydrate and power some. The next part I will dice and freeze some and rehydrate the rest. and the last part I plan so blanch and then freeze.

I harvested the garlic scapes and made some more planting space over the last week. Been with the kids at school this past week so not as much progress as previous weeks but every square foot is more growing space.

Night is approaching and the kittens are starting to get more active. Their mother has been working on getting them to leave the playpen. All of the kittens except for two are now leaving the playpen.

I have fruit trees and Berry bushes outside the garden area. while the fruit trees are fine inside their protective pallets the berry bushes are not fairing as well. I plan to put pallets around the fruit trees and move the berry bushes into the garden area.

Most of the kittens can now climb to the top of the playpen. Their mother sits on top of the stall divider just above where they are climbing. I am sure they are trying to get to her, but she needs a bit of rest.

Kittens learn so fast and grow so fast. Less than 6 weeks ago they were blind and pulling themselves towards their mother so that they looked like they were swimming. Now they are climbing the walls of the playpen and do all their bathrooming in the kitty litter.

I am going to try making walkthroughs of the garden over time so that you all can see how the garden changes over time.

Originally I put metal cages around my fruit trees in the orchard to spot the deer from eating my trees. But they did not work well for my ram when he rubs up against them. For whatever the reason is he does this only to small trees that move as he rubs up against them out more established trees all the sheep just reach their heads up and pluck leaves from beblow....makes walking much easier ar...

It's already been five weeks since the kittens have been born. I am amazed how much they get into fights with their siblings. One moment they play, the next they're fighting, and then back to playing again.

I first cut out all the dead material that was close to the ground and shaded out by the growth on top of the plants. after I started to cut back some of the ground of the two more vigorous rhododendrons to give the purple rhododendron a chance to recover. I then lifted up the spruce to allow light to the bedroom windows by cutting off the lower branches. After that I thinned out the cedar and ...

Well given the choice it's an understandable pick.

We have some wonderful tall trees in our front yard that help shade the house late in the afternoon. But we also have a shrubbery hedge close to the house too. The end result is a little too much shade for the lower floor. Option one cut it all down...but I do like the greenery so going with option two selectively cut here and there.

Lily my East Friesian dairy sheep ewe had her first little lamb. She really loves him. She stays close and snuggles with him most of the day except when she gets up to feed him or herself.

I am happy to see more of the kittens are starting to try the kitten food.
