    About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

Maybe not but Gloria had a point that if Archie helped Mike he helped her too, since Mike's going to college meant his getting a better job than he could've gotten without the college degree. Otherwise Mike would be no better off than Archie and you'd think Archie would want better for Gloria than the same life he and Edith were living. The problem is that after helping them and getting repaid, he's still stuck where he is while Mike and Gloria had a better standard of living. That wouldn't be fair but I guess a parent has to think of what's best for their kids.

They backstab you by changing their positions on important issues. I think Mike could work part time or weekends and help defray his debt to Archie, and this money could've been put in the bank earning interest. The following year Archie went on strike and if Mike had had that money in the bank then he could've helped out.

Sally Struthers stripes this scene!! She absolutely crushes it from minute one. The only thing wrong with this clip is the reference to " A House Divided." THE BUNKER HOUSEHOLD WAS ALWAYS DIVIDED!! That was the fun in this insanely brilliant Sitcom. Four people that could not have been more uniquely different. With the possible exception of Gloria. Archie's "Little Goil" Stands Toe to Toe and Blow to Blow with her Pigheaded Father. Her temper matches his 30 degree boiling point in every encounter. This is my favorite scene that Sally Struthers appeared in during this shows triumphant run. " SIT DOWN AND EAT YOUR HAMBURGER." "ITS MEATLOAF!!" " ITS THE SAME THING!!" Comedy writing equaled by only two other Series in Television history. Sanford and Son and the incredible Andy Griffith Show. While Sanford and Son was often funnier, All in the Family was even more poignant. While the incomparable Don Knotts was on the Andy Griffith Show, it outranked all others. In my opinion. All in the Family was a powerful number two. They not only don't make them like that anymore. They can't even approach them!! The 24 Karat Golden Age of Television Comedy.

I think Gloria shouldn't have gone off on her dad Archie, that aggressively. Assertively, would have been better. Even if we strongly disagree, with our parent, we still need to respect them. If for nothing else, that they brought us into the world, and God created us all. The fifth commandment.
