I saw these episodes years ago as a young kid. These episodes hit hard then. But nothing compared to now. I lost my wife a month ago to cervical cancer. We had a dream to full time RV together. Now I'm on that journey alone. Just last week I gave all the last of my wife's things to her daughter from another marriage. I did manage to keep a handful of keepsakes. The rings, the blouse slash miniskirt I saw her wear in the picture I first ever saw of her online, I also kept this gorgeous dress I bought for her that she only got to wear once and somehow didn't get a picture of her in it. And the last thing I kept was her cat hat. I remember when she died at 2pm on March 17th. It took me almost 5 hours to go back to the RV parked at the hospital. It took me another hour just to leave the parking lot. Once I parked for the night. It took me almost two weeks to sleep in the bed again. Often times I'm still sleeping on the couch. But I keep on for my animals and because my wife I know would not want me moping around too long
As I always said, Archie was not a sick, hateful racist, like a lot of people were then, he was just raised in an ignorant time in the world. He truly had a heart for everyone, even though he still tends to make comments towards races without thinking first. What a one of a kind actor, played the New York accent, Heat of the night was an amazing performance with the southern accent. I really miss Caroll O'Connor.
I can tell you i just saw this tonight on tv and it hit home because i lost my dad and I felt like Stephanie being treated differently I kept to myself a lot it was very hard i saw this and i actually cried during this
Yes, I heard he wrote as well, and produced the show, as well as being a great actor and versatile when he played Archie, New York accent, Chief Galespi, southern accent and a great movie, Return to me, played an Irish guy, great Irish accent. Carroll was a one of a kind
When I first watched this back in 1980 I thought they had added a hot new girl to the cast. Then when I realized 43:42 it was just Stephanie in her nightgown, I was blown away on how quickly she had grown up. She wasn't the tiny 'lil kid deadbeat father Floyd Mills had dropped off on Bunkers doorstep anymore.
@@Justin.Ullmann Billie was another cutie, but she was already grown up as she used to like to tell Uncle Archie. You are correct, she did come onboard in season three and her arrival kinda pushed Stephanie to the back burner. They really didn't need two girls.
If anyone plans on watching this, skip ahead to about 5:45 to avoid a shitload of COMMERCIALS!!! Then CZcams will throw in some of their own. Ridiculous!! 👎👎👎
Sorry I had to record it as it was that it came on Antenna TV couldn't bypass the commercials otherwise I would get a copyright strike. I can't do anything about CZcams adding advertisement in between the video and I apologize for the inconvenience that has caused you. I tried to do my best with this video.
What a sad couple of episodes, and I don't think anything that the audience was laughing about was particularly funny but I guess they came to see a comedy.

I still tear up at the end of this
Best show ever I watch this show as a kid
It is the greatest. We can all relate to the subjects of these episodes. Real-life issues.
Pure acting genius!
Scott, you said it short and sweet, but better than anyone could phrase it.
Writing genius as well

Ben Stiller's mother Anne was a beautiful woman.

I saw all in the family in the 70s and saw Archie bunkers place in the early 80s and in the heat of the night in the late 80s

Edith died
edith would have never ordered cosmetics so this was lame
I think the point was that she couldn't say no or turn someone away
