Woman records on her phone as strange man stalks her through downtown Vancouver

- A Vancouver woman is speaking out about a frightening experience after she was followed closely by a strange man for more than half an hour.
Jamie Coutts filmed much of the encounter and said her stalker didn’t appear phased by the camera at all.
Coutts said in retrospect she should have phoned police, but that in the stress of the moment her priority was getting somewhere safe and staying ahead of her pursuer.
Coutts has since reported the incident to Vancouver police, who say they are investigating.

She has a guy stalking her, so let's use her first and last name in the interview, and describe her neighborhood. Genius.
And her routine 🙄
Sometimes the media zre just plain dumb
I swear the media does it intentionally
As if he doesn't already know? Also it's all information that is easy to find as it is in public records.
Also you are assuming they didn't even ask her for permission to post her name, which they obviously have to do.
@@Disableddonkeys88 ok, next time you see a random stranger you know nothing about, I challenge you to find their name and place of residence based off of only what they look like with public records😑
The fact that he stopped and stood there while she asked to sit with those people. I felt panicked for her. Terrifying.
So creepy
Yes, someone that oblivious or uncaring about what others thought of him standing there, is proof that he's extremely dangerous because he will do harm without the fear of being caught. The police should have this A-hole already locked up somewhere.
He was deliberately trying to intimidate her ... he didn't seem to care that he was being filmed
Craziness!
shes just vlogging with her new boyfriend but she was so flustered by him and she had a mini karen metldown
He’s done this before. You can tell. He was prepared. He was wearing dark clothing, a mask that covered nearly his entire face, and wore clothing that didn’t have labels or identifying, distinctive markings. What’s even more terrifying is that Vancouver, Canada is only a skip away from Oregon or Seattle - which is in the United States. He could be traveling between the two countries (more so, probably before covid) - for work, or maybe he has family in-between the two countries, etc - and targeting women in the United States as well, making him even harder to catch. He was dead-set on this young woman… almost in a trance-like state. He was so fixated on her, and he was literally hunting her like prey. It‘s bone-chilling.
No lie bra
This happened to me once !!! And we both ended up cuddling 🥰 in bedroom together

I remember this incident. For anyone wanting to know who this guy is, his name is Mohammed Majidpour. He was stalking women around the area, with other people reporting being followed by him as well. He was caught placed on one year of probation....even though he had 30 charges of assault, etc, from 2016 to the present. Law enforcement really needs to take stuff like this more seriously.
And they let him out to terrorise ppl
Huh thanks for the update, I am not surprised at all. You never see a computer geek doing something like this.
There need to be bipartisan solutions to crime instead of the same cycles repeated over again.
Do we just build more prisons to house the incorrigible as well as the mentally ill?
He is clearly following her. He even stopped and waited for her at the skate park. She was smart to video record and find a group of ppl. Thank goodness she's safe.
Her walking on a public sidewalk is not illegal, if it's not illegal for her why would it be illegal for anyone else, that's a scary thought

This is absolutely terrifying, some tips I have for if your ever are in this situation.
-Don’t go home
-Go into a public space with a lot of people around
-Don’t be afraid to make a scene, this could be your life on the line
-Try to get as much information on the person as possible
-Sit in a store and call the police without them noticing
Also have this gadget, I don’t know what it’s called but basically you can bring it with you and if you pull this string on it it makes a very loud sound. My mom gave it to me for when we go somewhere.
Crazy that I was the only person to upvote this and this isn't the top comment.

Yeah but the airhead walked around for 30 minutes instead of going into a building and asking for help. She sounds like an airhead too.
What do these guys thinks will happen? The lady will just say "oh my god, you've taken my breath away, I love being stalked... go ahead and take me to a hotel." Like really what?
They're sick in the effin head.
Well most of them tell you what they want to happen. The two guys that followed me told me they wanted my purse. And the other guy that followed me when I was underaged still...told me he wanted to take me out for coffee.
Have you heard of Mollie Tibbetts or the girl who was found in the water tank at the hotel in los Angeles?
He wasn't planning on, "wooing" her.
The fact that she walked 40mins with that crazy behind her, I would’ve walked into the next store ASAP
@CheapoBrand FruitPunch because walking behind someone is not a crime?? Also maybe it’s people like you who make it harder for other people to be honest about an uncomfortable situation 😑

@@heyitssanj So well said! Even with her video, the police is waiting for other cases that might be linked, so that if she had only a 10-minute footage and ran into a shop for safety, and called the police, no one would have taken her seriously.
@CheapoBrand FruitPunch If she wanted attention, she just would have started a CZcams channel on make-up or Hollywood gossip. She would have 20k followers in less than no time. But this is serious.
Anyone reading this keep in mind that in situations like these, there is never shame in causing a scene. Don’t be afraid to just run into a store or sit with a safe looking group of strangers, even tell if you need to. Don’t be worried what people will think because what matters most is your safety
Yes! Ik a lot of people get afraid of causing a scene but you should do it!! It's not embarrassing, it's harassment and a crime and should be reported.

I FEEL HER! 😭 I used to worked the night shift at my old job since I went to college during the day & I would get off at around 1:30 am. One night I parked my car in the drive way but my foot was still in the break so I was able to see a silhouette move behind my car. After I waited and saw no one I walked inside my house. Minutes later a man was throwing rocks at the window which woke up my Mom up. She opened the window & told him she would call the cops if he didn't leave. Holding a ROPE he said he wouldn't leave until I left because he had been following me all this way from my job site. After a couple minutes of moving the rope creepily through his fingers and demanding I leave with him, he got into a car ... he was the passenger and I was able to see another man was driving. It still terrifies me to think about the "what if" scenario....The fixation and determination in him was pure evil, it looked like things that only happen in movies.
So many creeps allowed to walk around freely in our societies. Most of the time they have a ton of priors. But repeatedly being let out again time and time again.
Did you let the police know? What do they do in such situations?

Unfortunately i was attacked during my walk around my neighborhood. i didn't go home but afterwards a couple walked by and said they thought we were playing bc they had seen him following me. They didn't help or seem to care. i screamed for help i saw them from a distance and it was worse knowing they didn't even attempt to help me. It was terrifying. I'm glad i didn't go home i was afraid he'd find me later. He was arrested and charged w attempt assault. His was 17 charged as adult. It could've been the little girls up the road but it was as me. I've been traumatized from it and i don't go out much since and if I do it's never alone and constantly watching my back.
I had a similar experience happen to me in Philly. My parents were visiting me in college. My mom and I went shopping in center city when this guy just showed up in front of us. At first we were polite and said excuse us/hello. Then he continued to follow us around the store. Specifically he was following me around the store and kept making these creepy smiles at me. I started to panic and my mom who had enough and went to tell the dude to leave me alone. Mind you, my mom is small Colombian woman and this was full grown man. Even after that he still continued to follow me around. I’ve decided that I would just leave the store and go directly to my dad who was a few blocks at the Ben Franklin historical society. The came out the store and continued to stalk me down on Main Street. Btw this was in broad daylight, in the middle of downtown. I feared he’d try to kidnap or worse so I went into this random corporate building. What was crazy was the guy was standing outside the door so I’d be trapped inside. Finally I told the security guard about what was going. When confronted, the creep had the nerve to say I was his wife or something. Luckily the security guard didn’t believe him and made the creep get on the next bus and leave the area. The whole ordeal lasted about 30 min but to me at that time, felt like decades of torture and fear.
OMG I'm in California and this same thing happened to me. I was walking my dog around the block and this one-eyed guy was on the ground after I passed him he stood up and followed getting closer and closer just like this guy. When I stepped off the sidewalk for him to walk around he didn't he stayed behind and stopped until I started walking then he followed again! I didn't have my phone. So scary, I did report it to the police and will always have my phone now and pepper spray. I called cops when I got home and made a report, I haven't seen him around anymore. Thank goodness Hope he was caught.

Ladies, trust your gut instincts. If you feel somebody is following you, it's because that is most probably true. If we are aware of our surroundings, we actually notice immediately if there is some kind of 'danger'. I had those situations twice in my life and wasn't afraid to ask for help. First time, I was walking home at 9pm, it was already dark, but I was only like 700m from my home. Not much ppl on the streets and there's a male coming towards me. Shortly after we crossed, he changed directions to follow me, so I immediately was alarmed. I would have jumped into the next taxi, but there weren't any. So I kept walking in hope's of somebody else coming up the street and luckily a couple came out of the sideways. I immediately walked up to them, told them this guy is following me and I would keep walking with them until he disappeared. Guess what, he changed directions with us again, so he WAS in fact following me. but sometime after that he disappeared, when he was gone, i was like 2km away from home, but finally felt safe to walk a different route home. Second time was at a train station, also quite late in the afternoon and there were strange ppl around, I suddenly felt very unsafe and walked up to a man who was older and looked quite rich and asked him, if I could accompany him while waiting... so: never be afraid or embarrased to talk to strangers to feel safe! You will never see them again anyway =)

He said he was waiting for someone to pick him up and I was like "okay" and walked right back the way I came.
I walked 40 minutes out of my way around town just to try to avoid this man and get back to my apartment. He didn't follow me, and I wasn't terrified per se, but I think the fact that I walked 40 minutes out of my way to get to my apartment from the back way says everything about the caution AFABs automatically put into practice, just to avoid potential danger or confrontation from random men.
Even if he "wasn't a threat," I wasn't going to risk it.
I’ll Love To Get My Hands On Him ‼️
The guy pulls down his hood to protect his identity when she was talking to that group of people. It’s obvious he’s aware enough to do so & knows what he’s doing is wrong, which makes this scarier because he’s calculating yet bold.
People talk about people like this like
"Oh, he doesn't know what he's doing... He's young... He needs to be educated on what's appropriate... etc..."
He knows what he's doing is wrong but knows that people will always cover for him if he is caught.
"She should cover up more... She shouldn't have been alone... She should carry pepper spray..."
People who say these things enable this behavior. It's so infuriating.
Obviously his plan was to keep following her until she got to an area where no one was around. You don't follow someone for 40 minutes just for the exercise. Thank goodness she was in Canada where most people are really nice and will not hesitate to help a stranger in trouble. Being followed by someone is probably one of the creepiest things on earth, because you can never go home because they are right behind you. He needs to be locked up..... because the next woman may not be this lucky.

If ever you feel like someone is following you, forget about where you were initially going and why you were out. Instead go straight to a busy place with lots of people, just literally walk into a nearest place of employment (any shop, diy store, salon, solicitors, pub, fast food place, restaurant, or do what this woman did and go to a person or group of people), and straight away tell them that you believe someone is following you. It’s very important to tell someone straight away even in a busy place, because the person following you could still follow you, get next to you and hold a weapon threatening to harm you, if you don’t leave with them. If you’re in a residential area, look for people gardening or walking their dogs, or even knock on someones house that looks safe.
That's great advice James. Sometimes it's easy to forget you might be in a really dangerous scenario and try walking it off, it's not worth the risk or the stress.
Someone followed me for 30 mins and then she came up to me and told she has a crush on me and took my number and went away lol
@Sidemen AFTV Clips & More are you high? What do you mean by liar? Just because someone is following you doesn't means they have bad intentions
Yes, and if you're going to record, *livestream.* Do not record a regular video to your device. You need to livestream so that people know and see exactly what is happening in real time. my ex boyfriend was pulled over for a broken license plate light, and the cop punched him in the face (had to get reconstructive surgery on his cheek), and then tried to take his phone to delete the recording during the struggle. my ex was streaming to periscope, tho, so like 6 of his friends were watching at the time and already screen recording when things started to get heated. i have no doubt in my mind that officer would have deleted the video and lied about the entire thing.

It was a great move to approach others (that seem trustworthy) for help and to just be honest. The way he stood there - mm. So obvious something wasn't right. Like at first you can't be sure he is following her, but when he literally stops when she does? Creepy as heck.

@@thewildcardperson I do have weapons, but I live in California and it's really hard to get a concealed carry here. I have guns at home though.
