Well, this only confirms that Cardano is the future....
The fact that he even mentioned 'Grindcore' makes me love him even more.
This was so cool. I personally worry a lot about AI, and I hope that Ben is right that having an AGI be Incentivized in a decentralized way will mitigate some of the Bostromian risks.
This worry discouraged me from pursuing AI research despite having the math background. I feel, to be successful, you need to suppress all doubt or have a regret minimization framework.
I think Ben has it right though. If big tech gets hold of the singularity, they will go for total dominance, but if agents evolve together they won't be able to take total control. This can already be seen in the stock market. No one company seems to be able to keep consistent gains using ML.
The guy is a mix of Jimi Hendrix and Ozzy Osbourne.
Yes, I want to be able to jam out for each other all day and never work again! I love playing music but I could never make money doing it, so instead I have to go to work everyday fighting through a bad back. This isn’t what life is meant to be about, so I hope Ben comes through on the benevolent AI that gives us whatever we need.
Considering how humans have done running things I’m good with the AI taking over.

Future looks bright. Fantastic explanation. I get it. Just one thing: With the expected success of SingularityNET the already large community of Cardano haters may soon have the big tech companies on their side. They will not like this competition from decentralized AI. I hope I'm wrong.
Agree, but my hope is that at one point the big tech giants cant compete anymore with such a sophisticated AI on SNET. The reason for that is that they focus too much on revenue and not on decentralizing and so forth. Because of this they will lack behind. But of course maybe I’m wrong. My hope is that I am the last generation of the big tech era.

I felt good about this interview until he claimed AI will eventually allow everyone not to work and it'll make life grand. I'm not counting on this guy. But his extreme optimism is commendable :)
Chances are he won't be the one to create that but it is likely that an advanced enough AI could quickly move us into a post scarcity society where humans have no need to work, many will likely still want to work but will have much more freedom to choose their work(if this AI wants us to).
That's basically the end goal. Live as long as you want, while having to do nothing. Having being the key word.

No AI is going to be benevolent. If there is no human empathy and consciousness, it cannot be truly benevolent.
Who said it will not have empathy? Of course they will create AI without it, but it's theoretically possible to create it with sensitivity to our suffering and limitations.
