While I totally get the sentiment of old cast pans, this was one saved from the scrap metal pile for free. Itâs not old or valuable. A couple years ago I tried Sanding the bottom to achieve a smooth finish and ever since then I couldnât get seasoning to stick to it. So Iâm not out anything and if I really wanted to I could toss it in the coals of a hot fire and it would cook the tar right out of it.

I actually used a product called ply sticks as an extra binder to freshen it up. Itâs a torch in rubber crack sealer commonly found at Menards
