Thank you so much, I feel really honered man , cheers and happy gaming :)
Thank you so much for the incredible work!
@@spitfyre1085 Thanks Mark, enjoy!
Ty for your tremendous talent and gift to the community
Your stuff looks simply awesome. Can the settings for your overlays be further fine-tune within MAME? Keep up the great work.
Some of the best overlays around!! Absolute quality! Thank you for your time and hard work Mr Retrolust!!
These bezels are amazing. Top work 👍
thank you so much , it worked :)
I would prefer not having scuff marks / reflections - I dont see a reason to emulate something that in real life would have been considered a nuisance, but nice to see people still putting a lot of work into this stuff
I feel the same way. I've seen ones covered with scuffs and glare I don't get it but to each his own I guess.
Thatd the one thing I was going to say as well. I know people do like that though. I feel the same when people make hyper real box art with scratches. The bezels do look really nice either way.
These look great! Thanks for informing us about them.
Do these work well with a vertical monitor?
Great job. I'm thinking this should be added to the import/use bezels function to automatically download and apply them.
Thanks for this video. also can use a video on CHANGING your bezel set and think this would be a great idea for future bezel related functionality. e.g. lets say you have already done the included Import Bezel project bezels.. and now want to either totally change all bezels for a platform or pick and choose. What is the best procedure for doing that? I think it'll take a fair amount of manual file mgt versus anything you can do in Launchbox or retroarch or mame for that matter, but would like how-to videos on those procedures. Along with that, any tips to streamline configuring bezels, such as setting the viewport scaling and positioning to fit the bezel and adjustments for vertical vs horizontal games. I dont know if there are any apps that assist with this procedure to help as otherwise its a very tedious game by game adjustment to get the view port aligned and centered to the bezel/overlays chosen.
Nice video! Just to add, you should explain how to turn on HLSL on MAME because without it the game screen won't be curved and won't fit properly into the overlay, hence the 1942 top letters being cut.
EDIT : HLSL not HSLS
In the ini folder, open up 'mame.ini', and scroll way down to 'direct3d post-processing options', and change 'hlsl_enable' to a '1'.
I wish these mame bezels worked with retroarch too, I prefer the unification that retroarch provides and bezels in launchbox works for almost every other system core but no mame retroarch :(
i can help you with that, search for Mame 4K Bezels - non official retroarch conversion in the launchbox forums. have fun
@@Klyze I will thanks a lot
This is why arcade emulation is great
Totally agree! :)
hello! i know its off topic but ive been trying to figure out how to set up yuzu and rpcs3 to close from my controller on bigbox and was hoping you could help. ive tried mapping the close active window button, writing the esc script and ds4windows and i just cant seem to get it to work no matter what. and when i close it from pc i always need to re pair my controller to my pc to take contoll back of my bigbox. thank you for all your hard work, your videos have all been super helpful!
They look amazing. But I could really do without the scratches. It's just personal taste at the end of the day.
I’d love an alt version without that or the reflection over the game window itself. Nothing against the detail, it’s really nice, but I have a bizzare pet peeve about every “generic 80’s arcade” style overlay/theme using an obvious New Retro Arcade Neon acreenshot
*Bezels* are the best ☑
Are you sure 'mame shader presets' go in the artwork folder? Perhaps they go in 'ini/presets'?
Lust for the Retro
Can the scratches and the screen reflections be disabled optionally? I don't want emulated reflections plus real time reflections on my screen.
At the moment I configured some great shaders (don't know the name) within MAME and for those you can define the opacy of the reflection effect from maximum to OFF.
It would be great to show, if there are some tuning options for the Lights Out overlays in MAME and where in the menu those are hidden. 🎉
Can you turn off the glass effect like the scratches and fake refections ?
Yea, not for me either. Did u find out
Hi, I've been working on an Atari ST project for a while and started using Emulation Station so I could use some good bezels behind Hatari cores. Have been looking to integrate Atari Monitor Bezels. Have you heard anyone or seen 8bit computer Bezel projects? Tanx
Hmm...how do these bezels affect the bezel support 'built in' to Launchbox?
Is there a way to delete MAME games that i don't need? Also to make the size smaller of the set.
These look great! Is there a way to download these & swap between the bezels that Launchbox previously installed?
MAME bezels get placed into the emulator's MAME\artwork folder. Simply delete what you have in there and replace it with these bezel files.
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC That's what I figured. Thanks for clarifying.
How do you install the shader presets?
Hello friend. Can I use these Bezels for the FinalBurn emulator started by LaunchBox as well?
Man, i love this but i cant use it with those
scratches on screen...
Is there a way add bezels to other emulators (teknoparrot) or PC games?
yes, usually with reshade you can add bezels, CRT effect and even mega bezel shader, dont know about teknoparrot thou. its a sketchy emulator.
I can't believe this guy ignored all feedback and ruined this entire set by putting fake scratches and smears on the screen. Good lord.
Aren't those optional?
Hi, thank you very much for this excellent work! Just a question: where i have to put vector.ini and raster.ini files? thanks!
Is there a way to delete bezels from launchbox? The stock system bezels are a bit underwhelming compared to game specific ones
LaunchBox doesn't actually house any bezels, the emulators do. If you are referring to MAME bezels, you would delete everything inside of the MAME\artwork folder.
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC thank you very much! Looking forward to the next update and more bezels!
@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
Dumb question: how many MAME rooms are supported? And if a game doesn't have its own bezel, does Lights Out use something similar as the Bezel Project and falls back to "system" bezels?
They only work in 4k resolution monitors right? If nots 4k, another file is used?
They work in all resolutions, as long as the aspect ratio is 16:9
Perfect! 🎉🎉🎉
As nice at it is to have bezels in 4K, for the life of me I'll never understand why people like scratch marks on their screen.
That's not even the worst of it. The reflections on the glass look HORRIBLE and break the illusion because they won't match the reflections in your own room, which will just compound on top of these.
@@joeboo2897 So true. I just don't get it.
I always wonder myself ..these would be perfect if there was another one without the scratch & reflection
@@spragzpc1 exactly
@@joeboo2897and they are non-dynamic, what's another contradicting aspect.
Linux version?

I'd suggest heading to our community forums where you can get better support for setting up default bezels in MAME: forums.launchbox-app.com/
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC grazie
A small tip. I found it super annoying where you have a video called add bezels, and then you say about importing MAME roms. It was not needed in the video, it diverts from the original topic. Yes, you had chapters where you could skip to, but just assume that people have this already installed, or direct them to a video on how to import.
That's a hard pass. Scratches, really? They're so distracting. Some of them are way over the top. I had to remove them. What a shame because other than that they looked great.
Dear Bigbox/Launchbox Team - would it be possible that in the next Community Theme Workshop, you recreate the theme Hypermax Plus - just like in the following video? - czcams.com/video/PZx1tBruZAo/video.html
I hate bezels 🫤
Why?
