    Definitely a nice addition for those that like bezels. I personally find bezels to be distracting but I appreciate the constant improvements and hard work that goes into launchbox. Every single person I've shown my setup to is blown away by it.

    I am incredibly happy for these additions! Big props to Jason and all the team! I'm a big fan of consistency and spent lots of time trying to build libraries on launchbox that are matching size and format, too much time... The fact that these came out as the most voted features makes me incredibly happy and it's a sign that consistency is very important in the emulation front-end world! 🥳🥳

    As much as I personally prefer using non-specific console-based generic bezels instead of game-specific bezels since a lot of them use weird or mismatched artwork (WHY DOES THE SONIC 1 BEZEL HAVE METAL SONIC IN IT), the Bezel Project integration is a super neat feature, especially for arcade stuff!

    • @camf33
      @camf33 Před 3 měsíci

      I personally only use bezels for games that literally were categorized as Arcade, like NeoGeo, of course the Mame set, CPS1, and 2. My reason being is because consoles never had bezels because they were never arcade, you played them on your little 4.3 CRT and call it a day, LOL. It doesn't capture me since they simply never existed whereas arcades did have their bezels, to each their own. Nonetheless it's amazing that this is available to quench every taste. Amazing job from Launchbox as always. On a different topic I managed to do this, but I find myself having a hard time setting each overlay and bezel for each game individually, for a set of over 500 I can't see it working out, there's got to be a more efficient method to do it.

    Do the Reflection Shaders and Mega-Bezel packs alsways have to be applied to the actual emulators? Every tutorial I find is about Retro-Arch. Fine and good, but what if I use Spectaculator for the ZX Spectrum games? Isnt´t there an option within Launchbox/Bigbox to apply those within Launchbox, so that every emulator can use them - especially the cool TV overlays?

Bezels load just fine for 4:3 games but do not load for any vertical games. An example is 1942 just as you did in your video. No bezel loads for it. Image is in the artwork folder and named properly. Ini file points to that folder as well. I am using MAME without Retroarch and bezels are enabled in MAME. I can’t for the life of me understand why they work on 4:3 games but not vertical games. • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
      @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC  Před 2 lety +1

      This is due to the settings during either the import or download metadata/media wizards. There's a spot during the wizard where it asks you how you want to handle already existing data. You can either replace all of it entirely, add media/metadata that do not currently exist, or do not update games with any existing media/metadata.

It´s just amazing perfect what you do here for us and all your videos on your channel.

Or: Export Roms + Roms Media for Backup. Or a "making this actual Launchbox Setup portable Help" . This would be a great help for organization. But it´s almost perfect for me as it is! Bezel Project is awesome but only for US games (except mame) because the bezels go by rom name (if you use the packs)... so "Super Mario World (USA).zip" gets a bezel but "Super Mario World (EU).zip" etc. don't get a bezel. Does Launchbox maybe do any fuzzy matching? If not it would be awesome if that could be added. (pretty pls @Jason) :D

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC

    hi, which is the path/folder where LB download the bezels? I would like to use, when availbale, the "RetroLust's - Mame 4K - Lights Out - Realistic Bezels 3.2" and they are saved into the artwork folder, into the MAME installation folder. Does LB save the bezels automatically in that artwork folder too? If so, i can overwrite with "RetroLust's Bezels" the bezels downloaded from LB and keep the bezels downloaded from LB when the Retrolust's aren't available. Thank you

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
      @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC  Před rokem +1

      Yes. LaunchBox saves bezels in the default location that the emulator expects them to be. So for MAME, it would be under your MAME's artwork folder.

    • @giovannibocchi9686
      @giovannibocchi9686 Před rokem

      @@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC ok! in this way first of all i will download bezels during the import phase on LB and then i will overwrite them with the one present into the Retrolust's collection. As MAMEUI isn't no longer supported, i switched to Arcade64 frontend: in order to add it into LB, i removed the MAMEUI installation and now i have to add Arcade64 collection: is it better to perform a full import or an update? Probably, as the romset is partially changed and the .exe file is different, it is better to perform a new full import and into the end, remove all the unneeded extra-files, is that correct?

      We can't change how the emulators function, so they still require that the files match the rom names. Like, adding a game map or other documents can be added there, and they will show up in the additional documents section when you right click a game, or even in the pause menu. Is it possible to use bezels if you use a vertical screen. Have them top and bottom?

      Doubtful (generally), but I'm not sure.

      Honestly not sure. I doubt The Bezel Project supports it, but it might be worth a try.

      @jaysarcade Před 2 lety +1

      Vertical bezels are supported by Mame and Retroarch. In Retroarch, they can be specified per platform for a global bezel, or per game. I don't think the Bezel project does vertical bezels though so its a manual process. forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/2639-vertical-aspirations-console-bezels/

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
      @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC  Před 2 lety

      Just by going through the process of importing or running the Download Metadata and Media wizard, you will see the option and set up bezels. no need to do anything else, as long as the game is using either MAME or RetroArch, and the core is supported. For any troubleshooting, we recommend you head to our community forums: forums.launchbox-app.com/

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
      @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC  Před rokem

      Unfortunately, no. You would need some kind of file injection or file manipulation to accomplish something like this. You can select certain games, then run the download metadata/media wizard to download a different bezel type for the selected.

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC

      That is all controlled by the Bezel Project. It's the aesthetic they have chosen to go with.

    Why I can't launch PCSX2 Nightly Build with Launchbox everytime I open a game?

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
      @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC  Před 2 lety +1

      Because they changed the command line parameters used. Specifically the one that makes it go full screen (although possibly others since their nightly is still in flux). Remove the ones inside your PCSX2 emulator entry inside of LaunchBox and it should launch.

    This has got me stumped. I have the latest LB and mame .244 exe and roms. No retroarch. LB opens but refuses to play any games.

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
      @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC  Před 2 lety

      If you have a full mame romset (between 60-120GB depending on which type), then that's all you need to start the MAME Fullset Importer. LaunchBox will take care of downloading MAME and setting it up to work properly. I'd recommend heading to the community forums if you require any assistance with setting it up: forums.launchbox-app.com/

    • @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC
      @UnbrokenSoftwareLLC  Před 2 lety +1

      They are stored in your emulator. Inside your mame\artwork folder. If you got LaunchBox to download MAME for you, then it would be inside LaunchBox\emulators\MAME\artwork

      This release brought bezels as an optional download during import and metadata and media wizards. Bezels are not required to be used to play games.

    I dislike how Retroarch handles its overlays. You can't globally set overlay info with a few lines of code, instead you need thousands of cfg files to do the job. Plus the overrides cause issues for trying to save hotkeys for example.

    I am going to be a villain here, but those bezels and the artwork look disgusting, who done them, five year olds? A lot of this you are going to swap out for better bezels, but just for something quick and easy, then yeah this is great. Sadly, a very poor standard from Project Bezels, I would not put my name to something unless it was superb.
