Driving the Focus RS in Scotland - My Mega Tour is Over!

- It's all done, this mega tour is now compete, over 10 weeks on the roads around Europe, 12 countries visited and many thousands of kilometers driven!
To conclude things, I take the Ford Focus RS for an outing through the Cairngorms to Glenshee Ski Centre and Braemar Castle - experiencing some amazing roads in the process, getting lost and taking pictures.
It seems like yesterday that this trip started, yet covering everything from my time with Ring Garage at the Nurburgring, Fuel Faction ENA, the McLaren tour in Spain, Hamilton tour in Sardinia, a vast number of flights, press drives, and car events it has been so incredibly busy. Next I'll be heading back home, catching up with real life, and preparing for what comes next - while the cars all start to return to base too.

It really is, the North Coast and Highlands are something else. It also has some of the shittest most deprived areas - which I assume is where Aidan is from.

WAZE is simply the best navigation app there is. Shows cops, speed cameras, delays and is free. I don't blame you for using it over the standard navigation
Apart from when the NJ state troopers use it to confuse drivers into thinking there are cops all over the place because they move every 2 minutes and Waze cant keep up.
The Mini has to be the easiest one to keep a track of. If it's not home, then it's likely at the repair shop.

Anyone who wondered why you bought the RS only has to watch this or any one of a dozen other videos and see the smile on your face or listen to you talk about the drive to understand that you own cars you enjoy driving! I love listening to you talk about the way you enjoy driving as it reminds me of the way I felt when I was your age (around 30 years ago) and I love the scenery in today's video as well!

Ah bonnie Dundee, at one point you were literally 5 minutes from my house haha! Cool to see you up this way, some very VERY special roads in the north of Scotland :) The road to glenshee is one of my favourites, car or bike it's always an absolute blast. Really glad you experienced that, proper rollercoaster of a road!

That's one of the best roads in the world, perfect for that car. My Z4M used to love that road....

Shmee, you should have carried on a few miles to Crathie then turned off on the B976 to join the A939 across the Cairngorms to the Lecht Ski Centre, Tomintoul and Grantown on Spey. All part of the same Military Road built by General Caulfield in the mid 18th Century. Absolutely stunning! Next time ....

Next time you're up here you should visit the "Electric Brae" on the Ayrshire coast. A strange phenomenon not to be missed!
Your Focus RS must do so many miles! I've seen it next to my work in St Andrews and twice in Dundee.

You would love the roads in South Wales near the Brecon Beacons! They cut through the mountains, top gear have been there before!
Tim, Edinburgh to Moffat scenic route, its such a good road and takes you to M74 south. The views are fab! And the road ain't too shabby either.
I cant figure out where in Glenshee you took the photo for the thumbnail preview of your video?
In the winter you should drive up Glencoe and go skiing at Nevis Range there's some amazing off piste skiing

Best roads up here is applecross to ullapool absolutely brilliant with stunning views a must do

Glen Shee is great fun. Tight on the south side, fassttt on the north side
You should try the road up to Loch Lomond and then up to glen coe! Fantastic road and great place to be! 👍
You should make a point of heading to the far north of Scotland when you get the chance Shmee, plenty of great and quiet roads!!
When you drive the 500 you must drive via and eat at kylesku. When I did it in the caterham, it's the best stretch of road ive ever driven and the food at the hotel superb. Enjoy.

those roads are on my doorstep.... you need to drive the A939 over to Nairn ( just don't go in there it's full of traffic lights lol) also the NC 500 is awesome I hope to do it again next year....

Tim, go to cheddar gorge. You would love it. The top looks similar to the roads in this video but the lower sections are much more technical and very fun

I'm from Aberdeenshire and the roads are amazing for the gt8 I recommend the roads round Aberdeen and Fraserburgh( look the towns up) but ur Aston would be amazing. Love ur content keep it up.

been along the glenshee road lot would say from my experience in summer there is a lot of motorbikes and a lot of crashes on the road as it gets very busy
I get what you mean about loving the RS on those roads, I have had a Focus ST for 8 years and really don't want to part with it, a road trip to Scotland is in order I think! Those roads look great fun

Sometimes I forget that shmee also will get a Ford GT. The ferrari FF and the porsche GT4, are more than enough in my opinion.
These are the Winter tyres available for the RS as an option in North America but also available from Michelin in the UK

NC500 is great! You'll enjoy it. Went around it in Tesla Model S 90D. A lot of fun.
