Man, I started playing this game from a Jampack demo disc looong ago. Bought the game and played it for years. Later I got a PSP with a PS1 emulator on it and played Einhänder like that. Now I just play it on my desktop with ePSXe. This game is crazy fun and still looks good! It never dies!
I don't know if it was the same disc, but that was my first experience with the game, too! That disc I had for my PS1 that we got when we bought it was also my introduction to Tomba, Blasto, and Gex: Enter The Gecko among others.

Actually no, the version of this boss that you fight is only dependent on whether or not you get the Special Bonus 3 (Destroy the miniboss bottom segment to kill it). Doing this leads you to a different section of the level, and takes you to the blue version of this boss which has a Juno gunpod alongside the Vulcan and Wasp. Otherwise you get the standard Brown boss that just has the Vulcan and Wasp gunpods.
@@sgtmatthewv.6401 If I had to take a guess, I'd imagine it's because the bonus 3 route takes longer to get through, and since a bunch of the police force see you enter the abandoned ruins, it gives them more time to mobilize a more advanced version of Drache out to the field. So basically, if you take the original route, they only have time to mobilize a standard version, but you do, they have longer to mobilize the type 2.
^___^ I always thought he had said "This is Dino Bot the type Z Evil Monster" who knew. I always loved this boss battle. He took the alternate route to get this version color of the boss. I noticed he didn't get the Juno weapon. Literally one of the best weapons in the game its like the Vulcan, only faster, does more damage... and i believe its got less ammo for balance. Honestly you never needed a whole lot of Juno ammo.
+Juan Araiza Unless you've unlocked the Astrea FGA MkII (Red Astrea/Selene), which will make any mounted gunpod have 9999 units of ammunition, and selected Juno as your starting gunpod. Or, better, outfitted this Astrea with Juno and Flash gunpods to ensure maximal annihilation.

I had the opportunity to find this game at a retro game store 5 or 6 years ago. This game is awesome. However, this game is no joke. It requires you to have reflexes I no longer have. You literally have to practice to get the feel of the game. I barely made it past the 2nd level. Awesome game though.👍. Thanks for the post.
he's using his hand to block the bullets, your hand in einhander is essentially invulnerable. As long as the main body of the ship doesn't get hit, you're fine.
Unfortunately I've only played the PS1 demo disc, but I know that that boss has the capacity to change skins depending upon factors that presumably include number of deaths, points totaled, and/or paths taken.
I'm not doing this for a speed run. I'm only doing this to show all the bosses attacks. Since most people just kill the bosses very fast and some other people might want to actually see the battle.
Nope, your game have the green 09 and the 08 gray. Do the following: -Do not allow a single police ship pass by. Kill'em all. -After that in-game ad of a vampire, undead, whathever lady... There'll be a armored ship with a WASP on it. Get it, use the guided shot to kill the background police ships, AND destroy all ads. -You'll be taken to a secret place where you'll find a riot. Get it. Now, every step here is optional, what you really need to do is kill the very first boss by destrying...
@killerpuppetman when fighting the mid boss in the city if you only focus on his bottom part and destroy it than you will go down to a different level and later fight the blue drache. he is pretty much the same but he has different gunpods. you can also gain the juno gun from him when he tries to shoot you with it.
...destroying it's lower body part. It'll go down shooting you, so be careful. Then just get to Drache and voila. Gray 08, packed with a Juno that might be useful to ya, in case you manahge to get it. I was... Scratch that. AM a great fan of ols school games. @MrNintendoAll If u get all 3 of the bonus things in the first stage, Destroy all the signs, kill the gunships before and after the signs and blowing up the bottom of the police bot, you will go to a secret stage and then fight this boss.

Is this on an emulator? Because I've seen other walkthroughs, and I've never noticed the word "Polizei" on the robot's side (it's under the number 08). Either that, or the words aren't on the brown/beige one.

Id really like to speculate on the lore reasons of why instead of the military variant you get the police drache assault mech.

To get this color you have to get through the secret area of that level which is destroying Greif[the midboss] lower armour thingy
