- Day 5 of our 2018 Alps trip and it's the legendary Alpe D'Huez today ... The descent is far better than the climb on this one and the side road coming off the main descent - the D211a - is well worth the detour. Spectacular high road with precipitous drops. Don't get too close to the edge!
