    I have the blunt and also like to ride a bit tighter than most, my friends always notice it when trying it out.
    Based on my experience, no problem with turning with just the trucks.
    I wear 10 1/2 (US) which is 42 in Brazil and Europe (I think) and they feel great under my feet, I like to feel a bit of the borders of the board when doing intense carving, the slight concave of the board itself helps too.
    Can get quite fast out of the box, but also after using it for some time and “letting it settle” it’s going even faster.
    I want to try the tugboat but not sure I would trade the portability of the blunt

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  Před 3 lety

      The turbo king would probably be your best option because the larger wheels make it really easy to cruise over almost any terrain. That being said, if it is out of your price range, really any model will work to a certain extent. If not the turbo king, look for the fiberglass models or the dinghy blunt!

    Hi... Does anyone know what the proper replacement bushing for the dinghy is? the bottom one is a cylinder, the upper one is a cone and the standard type bones ones and similar have a different diameter.
    Someone mentioned using thunder successfully but I have not had a chance or luck finding ones that would come as cylinder plus cone in that 94A region. Need to change mine.
    I am somewhat of a beginner still and the stock ones are supper soft to a point where tightening the trucks requires me to adjust the screw to a point where it compresses the original bushing a bit too much. I weight 160 lbs moderate height but would definitely prefer more stability since I am still learning (after a year :_) )

    Great review! I've seen no other reviews on YT describing the variants. I'm 50 and about to try skating for the first time (I regularly run + bike: looking to try something new). I'm leaning towards cruising over learning tricks on a street board. I'm 5'6" with a 9.5 shoe. From my research, the Dinghy is too unstable for a beginner - the Tugboat appears to be better, but it seems to be out of stock everywhere. Do you think a Dinghy Blunt will suffice for a beginner (if I tighten it up?) Or will it be too hard/unstable to learn on? LY markets the Blunt as a hybrid between a Dinghy and a Tugboat.

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  Před 3 lety +3

      Hey, so first thing, is you can learn how to skate on any board! That being said, some are easier than others...I think the dinghy blunt would work really well for you IF you’re in the market for a small cruiser board. Because the trucks are wider than the turbo king it should be a little more stable. I have shoe size 9 and my turbo king is small, but fine for a cruiser. Tugboat is probably the best fit for you, but the blunt should perform great also!

    I can’t decide between a standard dhingy, pocket rocket black or a carver surfskate cx. Important is a smooth, carving, easy, comfort cruising with as little as possible risk for injuries (bigger and softer wheels..), high quality, beginner friendly. And of course short people friendly 😅 And I don’t want to learn tricks or something special. I just want to learn how to skate and want to enjoy the feeling while cruising relaxed (nearly all terrain).
